What a race! No idea what was going on with the track limits at turn 4 that Lewis was using for 30 laps before Max started doing it... and then swiftly got shut down. No way to say whether that impacted.

Great to have a race that wasn’t a snore fest!

Pleased for Perez and Yuki!

Anyone else think Hamilton looked absolutely fucked on the podium, like properly exhausted. Just goes to show he wasn't 100% ready to come back racing.

It was a pretty subdued podium full stop I thought, but Hamilton especially looked like he was hanging on to consciousness.

Have to say I do like Ocon maybe because of the Netflix series but he seems a sweetie.
Usual top 3 but not watching race tomorrow as family day out. So might be good as not much might happen race wise tomorrow?
Maybe I will have time to find the missing trainers if it goes like the last race!

Anyone given this new Extreme E a watch? Hamilton, Rosberg and Button all have teams competing.

Personally so far it looks like a load of shite. I don't understand the format of a weekend. And people say F1 is boring and processional, this first race is just about who gets in front and then stays there. Nobody else can see because of dust.

All about legacy and exposing the effects of climate change and leaving a place better than they arrive. But frankly as a racing series it isn't going to catch on I'm going to say.

Helmet Marko making a tit of himself again.

Yuki Tsunoda's second race, of course he is going to make mistakes. It's no wonder they keep ruining their young drivers. Hype them up until they make one mistake, then it's endless kicking them down.

He needs to retire 🙄

That's what I mean. I just don't understand how he wasn't decapitated looking at the wreck, or why the car split in two.

Just reported burns on his hands and ankles
The halo must've saved his head there. I've never seen anything like it in terms of damage and destruction of the car.

Last time I saw a car in two parts like that Anthoine Hubert died at Spa in the Formula 2 race but that was after another car crashed into the side of it. I was honestly expecting to hear we lost Romain there at first.

Suspected broken ribs - I'd say that is Grosjean's F1 career over then. Awful way to end his time in F1. Because he won't be racing with broken ribs in the next fortnight.

agree, they need to find a better place for the final race
Definitely. I know Abu Dhabi pay Megabucks to get the prestige of hosting the season finale, but it is an utterly shite race. They either need to change the season finale location or make major changes to the track to promote better racing.

God I hope the 2022 regs work and cars can race closer together.

Hamilton: Bono, tyres are still fine.

I read the FIA report last night. Sometimes I hate the rules, so stupidly complex, he had lost two places from the spin surely thats penalty enough. The team told him to regain position but he didn’t/ couldn’t.
