i also can’t believe that binotto stormed off when carlos still had a chance too.
how long can charles put up with this really? i can see him running a mile when his contract is up, he’s such a talent and gets no support from this team.
and that’s officially WDC over urgh.
i would pay actual money to be in that debrief.
the decision to go on hards, the apparent disrespect to carlos, the lack of any strategy or support. as a driver how can you carry on with that.

on tonight’s episode of crying into croissants:
it depends on lewis for me - who knows how much longer he stays (i’m convinced he’ll do at least one more season though) so that mercedes seat is up for grabs at some point, but pierre is already 26. he’ll be 28 in 2024 which isn’t old but is like the conversation we had about nyck yesterday. it’s unlikely that a team like merc would take a punt on a late 20s driver unless they want a second driver for george. would pierre want to do that?
my worry with him has always been that he’s part of a group that’s kinda a golden generation (the ones who are 24-26 right now), and one or two drivers were always going to miss out because they can’t all have great seats on solid teams. eventually the opportunities start disappearing, like with danny ricc atm. red bull really screwed him over when he only needed a bit more patience.
i worry that the timing will never be right for him in the same way that i feel ferrari will waste charles’ golden years of talent.
He’s got to start seventh if he qualified second otherwise he hasn’t been penalised five places. If he started fourth he’d have lost two places instead of five.

Honey badgers go for your testicles - and people said Top Gear wasn't factual and informative in the Clarkson era. So if he wants to play with my balls, not too aggressively, I can forgive the nickname.The car is instrumental in providing advantages to the team but there is no question that driver talent is required to maximise performance and Lewis is clearly a talented driver. And in reality, all drivers are petulant or angry when things go awry during a race so he is no different there.
It just feels like this year with the car underperforming & Russell excelling, there is a somewhat disconnected, dispirited attitude to Hamilton (def earlier in the season) and the team & Toto are continually having to pander to him with grovelling messages about how sorry they are etc. Just my view but I guess as I'm not a Lewis fan, I'm biased
On a side note, unpopular opinion incoming...
I also dislike Ricciardo. Immensely. The fact he refers to himself as honey badger. Gah! Do people even know what a honey badger is?! Fearless, vicious, aggressive, feared by others... Because I wouldn't class goofster Ricciardo as one. And who comes up with their own nickname anyway? Reminds me of a guy I met travelling who decided to introduce himself as "Spitzy" as he'd decided to rebrand himself whilst on a gap yearI digress, back to himself... The drinking from the shoe. Christ. Somewhat amusing first time, good job he wasn't winning many races seeing as the shoe quickly became part of his cool, fun personality. And don't even get me started about when people praise him as a supposed sex symbol
Ok, I know all thats harsh but I don't get the adulation for him and couldn't contain it any longer!

Wild that Nyck deVries might be the next AT driver or even get get a F1 seat. Definitely did not see that one coming last week. Is he on Marcus Ericsson's prediction list? I have to go check.
I'm excited for the possibility of two Norman drivers at a historically Norman team. Of course, it could be a total disaster. I did read someone saying that they can't wait for Pierre & Esteban to ace those 'how well do you know your teammate' quizzes and hating themselves for it.
apologies to both pierre and esteban but those teammate videos are going to be like couples therapy and i cannot wait.nyck has really stormed in out of nowhere hasn’t he? i only ever saw him mentioned as a driver who had sort of missed his chance (i was even on this thread saying so!) before the weekend! he had the ultimate audition and passed it, so fair play to him. he deserves it. as said above though, i don’t entirely know how i would feel if i was in that red bull junior programme!
also, wish someone appreciated me as much as mick loves and appreciates seb
