that was a great podcast! it’s crazy, and sad, to think about how much pressure these young guys are under - i remember pierre talking about how he would lose funding etc if he lost and he knew his parents wouldn’t be able to afford it. likewise alex, who obviously was in a difficult situation with his mum. they’ve both been through the red bull machine too, and i guess had similar experiences (though i feel like it seemed to hit pierre more emotionally).

that’s why i’m at. yuki’s radio message sounded genuinely freaked out that his tyre(s) wasn’t fitted right - as a driver i don’t think you misjudge that. and something must have been wrong because they DID to something to his tyres when he came in? but it was still not fixed?I can't fathom how a driver says there's a tear issue but the team no there's not.

i thought that from carlos after that pit stop when he just sighed and said “oh my god” - any other driver would surely have been wtf was that but it’s like they both almost expect things to go wrong. coming in for a pit stop alone must be a scary experience atm.
