Nyck wil be a guest at a dutch tv show tonight(humberto). It says that he’ll be talking about his f1 debut. But who knows what he’ll announce 😀

At least Pierre had a lot of practice with his hands over summer break 👀🤣 But that’s absolutely wild!

I would adore seeing Seb in a punditry role. He’s so eloquent, thoughtful and seems to be an encyclopaedia of F1 knowledge. Such a shame he seems so done with the sport, he’s going to be so missed. And here we are, stuck with greasy Nico in his Bond villain lair instead.
Do you mean the 2016 world champion who won in the same machinery as lewis Hamilton?

Serious question is he able to attend any races? It’s so awkward him commentating from the comfort of his palace

I thought I was alone in that respect.
Alone... In disliking McLaren drivers? (Don't get the appeal of either)... Or wanting more occasional nudity 😂

Bloody hell! Carlos has got some hairy arms!
Genuinely had to go back and look at the photo 😂 Was too mesmerised by his torso and jawline. Christ, where am I taking this thread!

Back to F1. On a serious note, for anyone who hasn't seen this... The latest from Conor Sketches.

nothing is going on in those heads except the fluttering of dust and feathers, and the occasional broom-broom of a car 🤣

any time i watch grill the grid and see charles confused by absolutely everything, including information about HIMSELF, i am reminded of this.
I’m surprised they both remember their unnecessarily long names most of the time! 🤣 Such big himbo energy from our men in red.

I'm super worried for Danny. I know he's been poor, but I'm not ready for him to leave yet 😔
He probably regrets the decision to leave Renault/Alpine when he did - I was gutted they booted Hulkenberg but he was doing well there.

YES SHARL 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

@KeepitontheDL - i love that poll, what a cool idea!

@i-moo-la - i’m with you on his age sadly. he’s already got a good few years on a lot of the grid (listen to me talking like 27 is a grand old age 🤣), and i do think that most teams would prefer to fill any free seats with either young talent or a driver that brings money and a new audience (like at apparently want to do with herta). as good as nyck was today and hopefully will be tomorrow, i think he’s going to be one of those talented drivers where the timing was just never right for him.

We stayed in Milan and got a public bus on the friday which worked out well but we heard it can be very busy Saturday and Sunday so instead we got a train from Central Station to Monza and then the shuttle they put on to the the track. Most days it took at least 2 hrs from our hotel in central Milan to our seats. Sometimes it was 3hrs. Its not a long distance but there were queues and just waiting for tickets and transferring from metro to train to shuttle etc took time. If I went again I would stay in Monza but I imagine accomodation is expensive.

Monza has crazy rules like power banks arent allowed or caps on bottles but you are allowed massive flags with poles! We still snuck in drinks and powerbanks as security check is pretty light!

They brought in a system this year that you cant pay for food and drink with cash or card you have to buy tokens or get a NFC bracelet and top that up via a website. We went with the bracelet and it was a nightmare and didnt work on the friday. Queues were around 1.5hrs to get the bracelet so it was annoying and then we couldnt use it! It was fixed Saturday and Sunday but queues are so long for food etc we decided to bring food in with us as we didnt want to miss any racing. The queues for the tokens were also really long.

We enjoyed it. The experience was great but we spoke to someone who had been before and she said this year was really bad with overcrowding as they sold way more tickets than unusal and attendance records were broken. I had nothing to compare it to though as it was my first race and assumed queues like that were the norm for races.

In terms of the crowd...Max was 100% booed. But it wasnt a nasty feeling if that makes sense. Like it wasnt intimidating and we chatted a lot to others in queues etc. There were a lot of people who travelled from other countries (us included) and there was a great atmosphere. We got on to the track for the podium...that was slightly hectic with people pushing etc but it was fine.

In terms of expense we decided to go all out on our tickets and we got tickets for the main grandstand. Our tickets were just over 1000 euro each for the 3 days. I know its a crazy amount of money and you can get tickets in other stands that are cheaper or general admission. We have talked about doing this since early 2020 so we justified it that it was our big post Covid holiday. We were right by the start line and 5 rows back so once we saw our seats we knew they were worth it for the build up as the race itself wasnt the most exciting. This is a photo of the view from our seats. We also got to see half the grid arrive as they all come in the entrance by the main grandstand. That was pretty cool. We saw Seb on his scooter, Valterri arrived by bike, Lando, Lewis, Carlos and Charles, Ocon and a few more.

If you have any questions on it let me know...happy to help if I can.
Oh wow thank you so much, this is so helpful ❤it sounds amazing and your seats look incredible! I've noticed a lot of people saying similar about races being overcrowded this year, I do think they're trying to make up for the last couple of years but it's gonna be busy no matter what I suppose.

I was at a festival earlier this year and it was the same kind of thing - races are sorta festivals in their own right too after all! Friday was fine but some teething issues with queues and payments, sorted by Saturday/Sunday but also so crowded. Same rule with bottle caps too, although a bottle of water without a cap was fine to bring in.

I was thinking similar on cost, you're right it's a lot of money but if you make a holiday out of it then I think it's reasonable. I've been to Silverstone twice but it was a long time ago and it does feel like races are just incredibly busy now no matter what.

Stop trying to hide my Pierre from me. You know I can't resist this French King!

I am snuggling into him in that lovely jumper in the first pic.
i forgot the 🚨 stephen alarm 🚨, i apologise! 🤣😉

he looks lovely in the first pic but i think the third is my favourite with him all casually draped against those tyres 🔥

After watching races as somewhat neutral and not really rooting for any particular driver or team, I somehow because invested in Pierre Gasly this season. 🙄 When I check on results/qualifying now as I often can't watch, I have automatically start from the bottom of the leader board and work my way up instead of starting from P1 down. 😆

Hey everyone! I'm just dipping in to say hello cos its been a while since I've felt proper involved. Currently in Croatia after doing a bit of travelling in Montenegro - home tomorrow. Not been so easy keeping up, plus I was super busy with work before leaving too.

Living for the Pierre french baguette content 🙌 Whoever shared that video from Twitter, I'm forever in your debt 😂 Also behind the campaign to make this thread the official Social Media Manager for AT if Pierre goes over. Speaking of which...

While on the road I've been listening to some Beyond The Grid podcasts - Lando, George, Kev, Zhou, Estesban... Esteban's was VERY interesting! How his year our made him a better driver, his relationship with Alonso and his friendship with Lance and Mick. Take a listen if you can!

Also... what's been going down on the other thread? Not sure I have the energy to go over there. Why so much agro over Lando and/or his ex? Can anyone fill me in?

same 🤣 i think everyone was like 🤯 when it came out because, why?! but if it was that alpine wanted him to be something of a seat warmer for oscar, or to do a one-year rolling contract like they implied, then they just have known that someone like fernando would never go for that. god bless him for the content it created though!

what are your thoughts on danny ricc? i’m inclined to think he’s running out of time and there’s no seats left :(
D Rick has been completely shafted by McLaren (there’s a joke there somewhere ha). He’s another refugee of the redbull curse like Albon and Gasly. Hell, maybe a Williams seat would be good for him to get his confidence back.

On a personal level, I feel bad for Latifi. That's got to be soul destroying. However, assuming he had no technical difficulties, he really shouldn't be out qualified by a man who didn't even know he was driving until this morning and has never races in F1.

Those yellow suits are awful, but Charles and Carlos still look good in them.
i feel for him too. he did appear to have that issue where he couldn’t slow for the turn, but nyck was already ahead of him by that point. i don’t have anything against him but i do also think someone else could make more of that seat.

i hate the yellow suit but i LOVE the black and yellow fireproofs underneath 🔥👌🏻

So Pierre is unwell basically means he’s not driving for Alpine and he’s now sitting in a darkened room listening to sad French music right? I swear if I have to watch him suffer another year at AT I will scream! 😩
i’m sad for him but also now picturing him sitting in a dark room with the windows open and curtains blowing dramatically while edith piaf plays. la vie en rose probably, poor pierre 😭

i will be gutted for him if this move doesn’t work out. red bull/alphatauri are so petty for adding that stupid herta criteria.

he has PEAK youngest child energy, rather like charles has ultimate middle child energy 🤣 only a youngest child could have written tiny pierre’s tiny racing blog.

if you haven’t returned in at least two hours i will assume the ritual worked 🐶
hahahahaha every time I think of tiny Pierre’s blog I howl with laughter! As a fellow youngest child, I can relate to his desperate need for validation and wins to prove he’s the best 😂

I’ll come back hobbling like a cowboy if the mirror trick works x

i also can’t believe that binotto stormed off when carlos still had a chance too.
I think he went to the toilet!

But they are absolutely their own worst enemy. They don’t seem to have any flexibility or ability to think on their feet based on what’s happening in front of them. See last week when they wanted Carlos to pit mid overtaking Perez!
