For the record, I agree with everything @LaBlonde said re: Lando... I despair that he has such a huge fan club.

And I agree with everything @kale-supremacist said... Except I do harbour deep-rooted lust for Sainz 😂

Alonso is entertaining at times but he needs to make way for a younger driver. Same with Latifi. Absolute waste of a seat but Williams need daddy's money!

@Luisa18 Love me some LeClerc 😍 Even if both Ferrari boys seem a bit 'lights on, nobody home' sometimes!

Half the time I forget Stroll is on the grid. Complete non-event.

The car is instrumental in providing advantages to the team but there is no question that driver talent is required to maximise performance and Lewis is clearly a talented driver. And in reality, all drivers are petulant or angry when things go awry during a race so he is no different there.

It just feels like this year with the car underperforming & Russell excelling, there is a somewhat disconnected, dispirited attitude to Hamilton (def earlier in the season) and the team & Toto are continually having to pander to him with grovelling messages about how sorry they are etc. Just my view but I guess as I'm not a Lewis fan, I'm biased 😂

On a side note, unpopular opinion incoming...

I also dislike Ricciardo. Immensely. The fact he refers to himself as honey badger. Gah! Do people even know what a honey badger is?! Fearless, vicious, aggressive, feared by others... Because I wouldn't class goofster Ricciardo as one. And who comes up with their own nickname anyway? Reminds me of a guy I met travelling who decided to introduce himself as "Spitzy" as he'd decided to rebrand himself whilst on a gap year 🙄 I digress, back to himself... The drinking from the shoe. Christ. Somewhat amusing first time, good job he wasn't winning many races seeing as the shoe quickly became part of his cool, fun personality. And don't even get me started about when people praise him as a supposed sex symbol 🤢 Ok, I know all thats harsh but I don't get the adulation for him and couldn't contain it any longer!

*sees myself out the door, deleting Tattle account on the way*
Honey badgers go for your testicles - and people said Top Gear wasn't factual and informative in the Clarkson era. So if he wants to play with my balls, not too aggressively, I can forgive the nickname. 😆

this is me with stroll! perez is also kinda like that for me, i don’t dislike him and obviously i’m aware that he’s there but he’s so much max’s second driver that i don’t really have strong feelings about him. he seems nice enough though!

latifi absolutely needs to move on now.

both ferrari boys have the wide vacant eyes of a golden retriever tbh. just sometimes filled with complete angst at the sadness of being with ferrari 🤣

I despise Alonso, since he hasn't gotten over being beaten by Lewis in 2007, I haven't forgiven him for the way he behaved at McLaren that year. Petulant as duck.

Hamilton I love, especially how sexy he is, socially active etc. Great driver, but I do hate his bad day moods he gets in to. Especially in the dominant Merc era, when they had a bad day and he practically wanted to retire the car by lap 7 and still ended up finishing p4 or something. Like duck off.

Hello 👀 was in the other F1 thread for a long time but did not enjoy the vibe there recently, so I thought I’ll come and say hi here as I love F1 too much to stay away and my dear @aidil told me she’s here too!

My favourite driver is Alex, I do like every other driver too though, but I have a soft spot for Daniel, Pierre, Esteban and Charles, also Lando (occasionally - sometimes more, sometimes less).

Can’t wait for Monza, saw that it might rain and even storm! 🫣👀

i love rainy races so 🤞🏻

Ditto, Albon is such a sweetheart and a much better driver than he’s given credit for. Red Bull and Horner knocked hi confidence so badly but it’s nice to see he’s gaining it back at Williams. I thought he’d be a good second seat at McLaren.

A little perspective; Lewis could ahead won that race but with a few ither things going against him there was no chance especially when he didn't change his tyres. George is assertive but also learnt a fair but at Williams it's not as if he just got the seat he had to wait and bide his time learning at Williams. But also he is driver liason officer and soon will be the senior one when Seb leaves (😢)
Everyone has their faves and dislikes and it's all opinions at the end of the day.

I wonder what Ferrari will screw up this time... 😬 Just as well they don't refuel at pitstops these days, can you imagine?? Fuel all over the gaff 😂
The worst of it is that Carlos and Charles just seem resigned to it happening. No angry radio messages from them, just a big sigh

same :( i thought that from carlos after that pit stop when he just sighed and said “oh my god” - any other driver would surely have been wtf was that but it’s like they both almost expect things to go wrong. coming in for a pit stop alone must be a scary experience atm.

they also seem to have ruined all the good that was in that car at the start of the season. it’s lost so much pace.

I have a close friend from madrid who seems to have grown up in a well off background. He sounds so like Sainz accent wise and almost a bit royal as when even at his angriest doesnt loose the rag and rant or rave and definitely no foul language.

Their souls have left their bodies, probably expecting the team to forget to install the DRS flap at this point

In all seriousness I’m still holding onto hope that they’ll at least win Monza but with the Red Bull’s straight line speed that’s probably not happening, unless it actually rains 👀 love a good crazy wet race and this seasons been lacking crazy races as it is

look at those sad sad eyes 🥺

i can’t see anything getting near red bull sadly, it’s crazy how close it was between them at the start of the season, but those upgrades have done wonders for the red bull whereas ferrari are doing the classic “everything is fine! we don’t need to change!” and so just got left behind. let’s start doing a rain dance now!!

Same. It's wild to think about how dominant RB are right now, when it looked like the championship was Ferrari's for the taking at the start of the season. Soul destroying.

I really like Alex. He's doing a great job in the Williams and has dealt with so much pressure for his entire motorsport career. I know he's not unique in that, but I do admire his resilience. I listened to a podcast with him, Pierre and Valtteri discussing their 'big breaks' (separate interviews) and it was interesting to hear the pressure they had dealt with in the junior categories.

that was a great podcast! it’s crazy, and sad, to think about how much pressure these young guys are under - i remember pierre talking about how he would lose funding etc if he lost and he knew his parents wouldn’t be able to afford it. likewise alex, who obviously was in a difficult situation with his mum. they’ve both been through the red bull machine too, and i guess had similar experiences (though i feel like it seemed to hit pierre more emotionally).

the inchident clip with max and charles always makes me laugh but it is also MADNESS that two small boys are being interviewed about that by grown men. the stuff they go through in juniors is wild.

Loving the discussion on here today! I’m Team Pierre (obv, would die for him), Danny, Alex and Charles. Basically if you’ve been chewed up and spat out by the RB machine then I will have a soft spot for you (minus Sharl, I just love his sad boi energy).

I’m half Italian so grew up tifosi… not a good time to support Italian teams as it stands. Seems Ferrari and Alpha Tauri are in competition to see who can be the biggest clowns 🤡 At least we have good food eh… 🍕 🍝 🍨
