He seems much happier atm, I loved how Toto came on the calm George
he really does! a few months back i was definitely thinking that this would be his last season, but it’s really good to see him getting some consistency and seeming much more settled recently. i don’t know how long he’ll keep going, but i also feel he wants that WDC that should be his. if mercedes keep improving, who knows.

i loved the toto and george moment too. toto told
him to move on, but in a very gentle and dad-like way. i love hearing him on the radio.

I’ve seen quotes from an interview with Toto where he’s said that Lewis has said he’s up for going for 400 races. I don’t think he’s close to retirement at all, especially if the car gets better and there can be a level of consistency. I think he’ll be here for a while. Seb on the other hand I don’t think will stay in F1 much longer.
Lewis will stay on if he doesn't win the title this year as next year hopefully the issues with the car might be sorted (??) and also George will have a tear under his belt with Mercs so maybe more at ease with car. So can see those 2 fighting more. Well I hope anyway. But Ferrari I thought yep it's their year but mistake and duck ups are not helping and really its disappointing but hey might turn it around. Still not sure with Sebhe looked soo pissed off in his interview. They seem to show signs of improvement but then collapse. Maybe another move might be good for him not as if Daddy's boy will get the push is it, when early he should be looked at at being moved on.

fully agree on all counts and (sadly) especially on seb. he’s seemed very despondent in his interviews for a few weeks now - i really hope a move transpires for him but, if not, i do wonder if he’ll continue. that team can’t be an easy environment and they’re just not improving.

I agree Seb just looks thoroughly annoyed with the whole thing. AM just can't seem to get it together at all. There are rumours of Seb at Mclaren but not sure I can see that happening I think Seb is more likely to call it quits he's been in two crappy teams since his RB days but I do think he would of liked to win another championship with another team but it's definitely not going to be with AM

Who fills the Williams seat? They’re not gonna let latifi continue surely?

it has to be piastri surely? though all the talk about him seems to have gone quiet - i’d love for it to be a young graduate driver though.

agree that latifi has surely come to end of the road. he’s had a good run but he just isn’t up to standard and someone else deserves a chance.

I saw ted say on Saturdays notebook that he’s acting like a man who is preparing to leave f1. His kids were in Austria apparently and he is doing all the old car runs… will be very sad to see him leave the sport when he does decide to go.

Oh man I'm not ready to see Seb retire this year. I know he loves racing but he's clearly been struggling with a lot of other elements for a while now (cash is king...) and AM never felt like the right place for him.

Comparing his situation to Lewis'... I think Lewis is still 100% motivated and wants another championship, but it's also within reach if Merc sort the car out for next year. Seb just looks done with it all and its painful to see. He's young in the grand scheme of things so wouldn't be surprised if he says duck it, I'm outta here.

this makes me sad :(

i will forever wish that he never joined ferrari (i’m sure he does too). the combo of what happened there into aston martin, where he’s never quite settled for obvious reasons isn’t good. agree that he definitely looks like a man winding his career down this season. he could potentially still have so many years left in him too but i guess once the enjoyment is gone what can you do.

intrigued to see what he may do after racing though, that much racing knowledge and expertise has to be used somehow.

I was doing some googling at 3am whilst feeding my newborn and came across a Wikipedia page for Jos Verstappen (Max’s dad) wow. He’s fathered multiple kids with different women, been charged for murder, assault on ex girlfriends, fracturing someone’s skull, married 3 times divorced 3 times. Also read an article recently whereby Max says his dad was verbally abusive as a child and used to belittle him. I am shocked!

that’s sadly the tip of the iceberg with how he treated max sadly :( jos once left max at a petrol station in italy when he lost a race, had him race in the snow until his hands froze to the wheel, took him away from and limited contact with his mother and sister, removed parts of his kart and had him race with the kart in a dangerous condition to see if he could identify what was wrong. and probably loads more that i’m missing.

i want to say that max only represents the netherlands because of jos too. he’s born in belgium to a belgian mother but jos said from the start that he would represent 🇳🇱 and pretty promptly moved him there away from the rest of his family.

he’s a toxic pos and i get mad whenever i see him in the paddock. wish max could break away from him but he probably is too ingrained at this point. i’ve always gotten the vibe that christian horner really isn’t a fan of him too.

No human being could be a fan of that behaviour. Not a max fan but my god how he came through that. Always like the dynamic of how Sainz senior is there for Carlos so please don't crush that perception too.

i would never 💙 the sainz family are lovely (and i think it’s awesome that carlos’ sister goes rally driving with her dad) - i also love how much carlos loves his mum’s tiny fluffy dog 🤣 all i know “gossip” wise is that sainz senior was hopeful that carlos would do rallying too, but it’s understandable that he would choose to make his name in a sport his dad isn’t a legend in.

i’m a max fan purely for those reasons tbh. i feel tremendously sorry for him and i thought it spoke volumes that he apologised to his mother and sister in his interviews after winning the wdc last year and to some degree seemed to blame himself for their distance. he seems his best and happiest self when interacting with other drivers so he’s definitely in the best place and i hope he gradually moves away from his dad. at the moment though he’s getting the validation for being a “winner” that he probably always craved :(

(wow i didn’t mean to do so much driver psychoanalysis over the last few days, sorry 🤣)

Jos Verstappen literally makes my blood boil. Especially when you see pictures of max when he was a kid, I wonder how he could act like that! Max needs to distance himself from him big time but sadly he wont, he must be getting the good attention he wanted as a child
