Did anyone else love the new MSC branding everywhere? Ok I know it’s for the cruise firm but there’s a genius working in their marketing team to think up that advertising opportunity.
Schuey will always be my fave.

From 24 races to 30 a season?!?
So race from Feb to Dec? Maybe too many as much as I enjoy the races maybe think of the drivers for once instead of money.
I agree wayyy too many. How many of those would be triple headers?!! The poor engineers and everyone else who has to travel to all the races- it's hard enough as it is for them currently. They need to think about everyone involved first and how it will affect them.

30 is a ridiculous number of races and I think its unfair to suggest it, even if its only half-serious. The drivers need time to rest between races, they'd be in a constant cycle of travelling/press commitments/racing if it went higher. Surely it'd be dangerous to keep adding new races every year. I already think this year's calendar is pretty packed as it is.

The only way you could agree with 30 is if you changed the whole format where you have 3 drivers per team but can only have 2 per race so you could rotate round a bit more. None of that will ever happen but surely the teams wouldn’t be happy with it either as the spending cap would also have to be changed and the penalties for putting new engines in etc would need to change? Unfeasible doesn’t even cover it

I think it is utterly crazy. Does anyone remember the article posted about mechanics and their mental health with the present schedule? 30 races is completely ridic. And as much as it is nice to have races in Africa etc, more time zones in the mix. As it is F1 jumps to different continents so I could see them go from Africa to Europe and then the US.

Comms staff are also dropping like flies. Aurelie of Alpine pretty much said the implications on her physical and mental health were too much and her last race was Bahrain.

23 races are enough. I also don't understand logistically moving from continent to continent for triple and doubleheaders. Do a Europe leg, a middle eastern leg, north American, and South American. I get that that is easier said than none but I'm sure that would ease a lot of stress with travel and time zones for the staff generally.

30 races is crazy I even think 23 is pushing it. I know f1 is the cinderella race format but they seem neglect that other formulas exist

If F1 wants to go to 30 races a season, you wouldn't be able to have calendar year seasons. It would have to become 18month super seasons.

I don't think they'll go to 30, I think he was just emphasising the level of interest there is in hosting races? That's how I read it anyway.

Agreed but as he actually mentioned it make you wonder. He said up to 30 which is daft. Not considering anything there at all. The logistics the amount if flights needed. Yes all to make more money and F1 even bigger. So with Europe just alternate the races so 1 year with 1 place the next year to another then back again. I get making it accessible to all countries and continents but at what cost bearing I mind the cost cuts they expect the teams to do.

Yeah totally agree, I know he wasn't announcing that they're going 30 but it seemed like he was testing the waters to see what the reaction was like. Because you'll have a lot of people pushing for it and saying "actually yeah, why don't we do more races", money to be made...cash is king and all that. My heart would sink if I was in a comms team. I reckon they will keep pushing for more races and see how much they can squeeze out of the teams.
