Do you guys think Russel and Hamilton will get along in the season ? Hamilton has put up a zen facade these past few years, but as we all remember, he wasn't getting along Rosberg at all. And I feel like Russel might be more agressive and ambitious than mild mannered Bottas (which I personally admire, being such a team player and being so dignified about it).
I agree with this.
These are elite athletes at the top of their game spending years to get wherr they are... None of them want to play second fiddle which is why there is always conflict and tension among the team drivers over the years. Hence getting Bottas to effectively toe the line & support Hamilton played out very well.
That being said, Bottas could secure the poles but not translate them into wins early enough in any season to avoid the inevitable "Valtteri, this is James..."
It will depend on how nimble Russell is and whether he gives Hamilton a run for his money in these first few races. If after a few races, he is not keeping pace then he will ultimately be told to fall back to support and bolster Hamilton's crusade for 8th.
That's if, you know, their testing performance was downplayed & they come out and bazuka Red Bull & Ferrari on Sat. Sure that's never happened before
so I'm interested to see how he'll play it.
