It's interesting Haas haven't made a statement themselves yet on whether Mazepin stays- I'm guessing it is to do with finding out the situation with Uralkali

If Mazepin leaves because he can no longer pay for his seat then I'll be fine with that

Regarding replacement driver, I'd like to see Gio back (I didn't want him leaving at the end of last year so would be nice to have him back)

Didn't Russian athletes have to compete under a neutral flag after the doping issues. People like Mazepin clearly have good links with Putin and he profits from him being there.

He was definitely racing under a neutral flag in 2021

So if they seize daddy Mazepin money how will Haas compete? Or am I missing something
Gene has enough money to cover everything. I believe the Uralkali money covered around 20%- so by no means a small amount but not decimating either. They’ve referenced having a bit of money put aside (probably a learning for the rich energy saga)
Andretti could have bought the team if Gene wanted rid ASAP.

Can't see Mazaspin staying in his seat for much longer anyway:
I was reading earlier on twitter that it may be possible for him to still compete but he would need to get a license from a different country (and potentially also citizenship of a different one if countries start to ban people entering the country if they are Russian). Not sure how true or plausible it will be for him to do that (but he will have connections so I don't doubt that he may be able to get the required licenses)

Regardless though, I think the chances are becoming much slimmer of him staying as you've said

Haas have haas automation in the us that is doing well so I think that will probably be where the money will come from 🤷‍♀️

I don’t see the gio hype and not sure dragon would easily let him go as he’s bringing them in money. While I don’t like mazepin I don’t see why he should be punished for something he had no part in. I think with most other car seasons starting soon haas are either going to have to keep mazepin or go with Fittipaldi.

Not f1 related directly, but i wanted to know if Dmitri had fled Russia yet. I went to see on the Twitter who tracks Oligarchs jet leaving Russia, Dmitri Mazepin isn't on the track list. But i saw a few comments asking the account to add his private jet too. I'll keep an eye on it.

What twitter account are you referring to?

seems like the right decision- glad to see they are taking a stance against Russia

Also just read on Instagram that Mazepin is gone and Fittipaldi is set to replace which should be announced soon
Oh? Will F1 announce it as breaking?
