I thought it was really well done. Focused on the racing, and the happy times with some nice family insight. Corinna's strength stuck out to me, what an amazing wife and supporter. Her last line about how he protected her and now it is their chance to protect him shattered me.

Wow! Somehow I'm not even surprised that Helmet is trying to play down whatever injury Hamilton is suffering from.
Necks are extremely sensitive areas, having a car pressing on your head, never gonna do much good. The Grim Reaper not showing concern is just making him look a bigger twit than usual.
Sure is. Same as back injuries (linked I guess) you never know with them.
I should not be surprised that man is a joke. He must have no emotions at all.
Maybe him, along with Team Prinicpials & drivers some lessons can be given to them all, some more than others. Not just on rules of driving in F1 bit also good PR.

I finally had time to watch the Schumi docu. My heart is full of so many emotions i cant even name them... The best thing is that the majority of the movie is from a time when i wasnt even born yet but it still feels like that i had nostalgia when i wasnt even alive. It all came back to me instantly as came the years when i was really small and young but still remember watching him with my dad and cheering for him. Such memories came back to me that i had totally forgotten about. Reliving the accident was something else... i was a teenager and i remember watching the news back then waiting for something. Just something, that he is alive, that he is okay. I couldnt believe it. I just refused to accept that sg like this could happen to him. I still admire and respect the fact that they manage to keep the private, private. The last 10 minutes...i cried my soul out. This was such an emotional roller coaster, one time happy as hell for him than sad af for them. That family is something else. They all have superpowers most people just wish to have. They are stronger than strong. And i love how Schumi is still an icon. Always will be. As he should.
Does anyone have any realistic idea of the state of Schumacher right now? Obviously the family have remained very private and protective which is completely their right, however the millions of people who grew up watching him are all wondering what sort of a life he leads now?
From what i have been able to gather through reading, he is away but cannot walk unaided and might be paralyzed (to what extent unsure, but assume potentially completely paralyzed given the impact was on the head).
If this was the case, i would assume he was bed bound and that would be highly unlikely to ever really change, which is heartbreaking. His poor family and wife, from the documentary you could tell the wife and him were besotted with each other.

Michael himself asked for very strict privacy if anything like this would ever happen to him and his family is doing exactly that. I fully agree with them, however i still wonder about his condition too. Its quite ambivalent, i accept the fact and think this is the best but also would be happy to hear anything.
From them talking in the docu i get that he is present, maybe understands everything, but still cannot communicate that well because Mick said he would give everything for a talk with him about motorsport. Corinna also said that everyone misses him but he is here just different. Thats why i think he cannot communicate. Like you said, truly heartbreaking.
I used to have this vision in my mind that he is somewhere up on a hill in a big wooden house near a forest and they take him for walks in a wheelchair everyday and they talk to him but as i imagined that, he never talked back just sometimes smiled.
I am not speculating about him because that would be wrong and i hate when people do that, its disrespectful, against his will, its just a vision i had when i was 15 or so
I’m working as a nurse in neurosurgery, I might be able to give my 2 cents based on what they say in the documentary (still haven’t had the time to look at it!)
Regarding the Schu documentary - Corrina is an incredibly strong lady. They come across as a very loving family. Gina and Mick are such decent children.
My only criticism was the way that Imola was portrayed and Senna’s crash in particular. I think it would be upsetting to Senna’s friends and family.

Have to say I was surprised they chose to show post-crash footage. Considering the documentary erred on the side of privacy.
Exactly. I am assuming they would have seen the final edit from Netflix? If they had just shown Senna ahead of Michael and cut to the post match ceremony that would have been better. I only hope Senna’s family and friends see it unprepared.
Also, I know Michael at Mercedes wasn’t seen as a great success story but I would have rather seen a bit of footage from him driving than Imola.
Completely agree with you both. I assumed they were going to cut it out just before the crash. Can’t believe they showed the crash and them taking him out too. Truly awful scenes
