right now it looks like saturday is a no go and it will be very hard to have quali on sunday morning, but the race should be okay (Sochi isnt as dangerous as Spa in the rain). Wouldnt be shocked if the grid ends up being set by friday practice.

Is it that bad?! 😱

As long as we get a race on Sunday, or they cancel it in sensible time rather than sitting for 4 hours like Spa waiting.

The pictures Aston Martin posted yesterday showed no rain at all. So I hope if there is rain, no repeat of Spa, those poor people sat in the woods in mud waiting for a procession of cars driving by behind the safety car. I do hope they got their money back not heard much about it since Spa.

Mick has re-signed for Haas for 2022. What a pity - would have liked to have seen him at Alfa

Reckon its Zhou to Alfa now but it seems to be a short-term deal. Maybe Mick to Alfa in 23? 🤞
I think they’re hoping for Theo Pourchaire in 2023..? Tbh I really don’t want Zhou to Alfa but I guess that’s the sport.. not about being the best driver but having that £$€ behind you too

Am I the only who has never liked rainy races? Like whats good in them... its more dangerous and you cant see tit, neither do they. More accident and red flag but at least saftey car always guaranteed. I've never understood those who wished for a rainy race, like whats wrong with them

Has anyone on here been to Monza? Myself and a friend are hoping to go next year depending on dates. Hopefully the dates for next year will be confirmer soon. I'd appreciate any tips re what grandstands/tickets are better or any tips in general.

I went in 2008, so a long time ago I’m afraid. We sat opposite the pits which was great. No idea of cost sorry, it was too long ago, it was for my sister’s 30th so she chose the stand. We stayed in a hotel in the middle of Milan. There are trains direct to monza and you can get a bus or walk to the track from the station at monza. On the Sunday the train was free to the track. I assume that’s still the case. I guess as so many people travel it safer to put on free transport. After the race we walked the track back to the station and queued up. It was amazingly well organised on the Sunday and everyone queued perfectly and police/ train staff organised getting people on the train. hope that is of some use.

A little rain can be good sometimes to liven up an otherwise boring race. When it rains mid race there's obviously the timing of tyre switches and the skills of the driver in the wet that come into play, which can make it interesting. A full on monsoon though is not so great, especially with the current cars struggling in the wet so much.

Gio's crash damage was worse than the crash but glad he seems to be ok!

It’s not looking good today.. F3 sprint race scrapped this morning and F2 has major delays atm, doubt it will go ahead tbh… it’s VERY wet with lightening …. Eek

feel like I have PTSD from Spa 😭 this is too soon
Think they've been preparing to write off Saturday all week. Hopefully we can get a race on Sunday. Maybe quali too. But I will take Friday practice results for grid if necessary.

But I really don't want to sit waiting for 4 hours on Sunday again. Spa was such a wasted afternoon.
