I'm hoping to go next year but we've got a huge reorg at work and I dunno if I'll definitely have the time off yet :cautious:

Is it just me or do others find this also a bit arrogant?
He decided not to overtake? To me it’s sounds like if he could easily overtake. But decided not to.
It would have sounded better if he would have said something like trying to overtake him. Max and Lewis had problems taking over McLarens so i don’t think it would be easy for him as well, unless they give teamorders.

But I might be to negative, not a big Lando fan (sorry! 🙈) Imo McLaren favored him too much and with his outstanding results (he had a very good start this season) he kind of thinks he’s the man, if you know what I mean.
Think it’s good for him personally to finish behind Dan this time.

Thinking of getting tickets for Silverstone next year 🤞🤞 would be general admission.
I’ve only ever done silverstone for testing or Friday practice but have done Spa (twice), monza, Nurburgring, monaco and Barcelona, oh and Canada but that was a 30th bday treat.
we found looking for cheap flights (Barcelona is good for this), cheap hotel and not doing a package we got some good deals. Haven’t been for a few years as we have young kids, but I’d definitely recommend the European races. We drove to spa and it’s pretty doable especially if you live in the south east.

Thank you! (And to the others who replied )
I'd love to go to spa sometime it's my favourite also Canada as my partner's from there!
Costs can add up a bit travelling from NI unfortunately to get a decent deal we'd have to drive to Dublin or fly to one of the major cities (London/Manchester likely). But would be amazing.

I nearly got hate crimed for saying he was wanting to overtake, and alluding to it on radio on Sunday. He spoke about it in nearly all the post-race interviews. Let Daniel have his moment and if you're good enough you'll win and he'll be delighted for you.

Spa is my favourite too. Amazing circuit and nearly always a good race (this year aside).
Canada was fab too. I loved Montreal and really want to go back, just need a small lottery win first 🤣, it’s so easy to get the underground from Montreal out to the circuit and there was loads on during the evenings over the weekend, car demos etc.
we went the year of the 5 hour race that button eventually won. It was very wet! Loads of the teams missed their flights as it ended so late so were on our flight home on the Monday. My mum bagged herself a seat next to a senior Mercedes engineer!!! I was so jealous.

This is a flex 💪

What an experience 😍 Canada 2011 hands down my favourite race in 15 years watching the sport

Totally agree. I like Lando cos I'm a McLaren fan, but I do think he's arrogant, especially this year. I get it, he's good and I believe he will be a championship winner at some point, but I think he needs to grow up a bit. Kinda reminds me of Max a few years ago.

ETA: though maybe I am sensitive as a Danny Ric fan

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks Lando is arrogant 😂 I know he’s very popular here 😉
Same for me, I’m a Danny Ric and Max fan (I’m dutch 😂)

Also I used to never look for F1 on tiktok in case of spoilers as I usually have to watch highlights on c4 but recently liked a few videos and now my entire feed is F1 🤣 I've noticed a lot of mazepin apologists on there ...
I’m from NI too and did Silverstone for the first time this year (I’d done Monza before, many years ago). We got the ferry to Cairnryan and drove down, but we made a holiday out of it and did Alton Towers on the way down and then stayed with relatives in Manchester on the way home. I booked my grandstand tickets through Silverstone but booked a hotel and coach package for 3 nights so I didn’t have to drive back and forth to the circuit every day. If I did it again I’d camp, as the atmosphere looked amazing plus you don’t have to leave the circuit to get a coach at 6pm

Just to say that there was no hate ❤ (at least from me - and I’m a simp for Lando as everyone may know, now… 🙄)
I really like how we can share every opinion here. To me the radio messages and post-race itws didn’t sound arrogant, but I understand where it comes from after everything we’ve heard or witnessed from him or McLaren recently.
Also, reading other point of views made me think (about strategy, team dynamics, etc) so it was a good thing for the F1 newbie that I am. Yeah, let’s keep debating without hostility nor fear of saying our different opinions, this is good. 😎

(That was the peace and love message of the day, you can resume your reading)

Thank you!

Also it's cool to hear where everyone is from sometimes I guess from the words people use. Especially in other threads 😂

If you do go with general admission, I would really recommend getting the inner track pass too. I’m not 100% what’s included with the general admission if I’m honest, I’ve always gone through my bf’s workplace (he works with F1) so been fortunate to get a pass through that but this year I spent a lot of time in what seemed to be the inner track area when the races weren’t on and it was very enjoyable, especially seeing the drivers come in! Lots going on too. When I’m at in the paddock, etc. I have to be on my best behaviour and be very calm hence why I go rogue elsewhere 😂😂😂

That's good to know. Was considering getting in inner track pass last year but didn't. Think we will for next year ☺

This year inner track was quite limited due to COVID. Hopefully next year it’ll be back to normal (I wonder how many times I’ve said that on the past 18 months 😂)
