Fragrantica reviews say that it's a lot like Byredo Bal D'Afrique - has anyone tried this?
I’ve got both. They’re similar and I think if you like one you’d like the other but they’re not the same. I prefer the Victoria Beckham. It’s lasts much longer on me and gets lots of compliments. X

Yes it smells almost exactly the same to me 🤣 though I think VB lasts longer

In general I don't find byredo fragrances to last very long

Yes , it’s my favourite fragrance in the world, I am obsessed by it, save it for special occasions, I adore it, quite a masculine scent

I tried my cheapos. The tesori green tea has very clean bathroom vibes, I’d say okay for freshening up on the go, it’s a metal bottle and won’t break in a bag. The tesori Thai spa one I’m not sure I like really, it’s kind of masculine, herbal but will be okay as bathroom air freshener, and the tesori vanilla is a very dry feeling vanilla scent. I like the vanilla best.
The orange fizz by berdous is lovely, loads in common with neroli portofino on the fragrantica scent profile but a more orange forward scent. Lempicka le petit has a clean soap and sugared almond scent. Very light, as aimed at kids but still nice.

This morning I spritzed on a bit of classic 4711 cologne and then used some Batiste cherry dry shampoo, but the combination reminded me of a fragrance I've tried in the past. So, for those who like Divin' Enfant by Etat Libre D'Orange this is the combo for you (skin chemistry allowing). It smells pretty much identical!

It is kind of weird when that happens though: a mix of random bath/body/skin/grooming things smelling like some fancy niche fragrance but only when in combination.o_O 😶

My cheapy Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy pairs beautifully with my Tom Ford Café Rose. It smells like something from my childhood, possibly a favourite teacher's perfume or talc, and somehow smells far cleaner and fresher than either of the fragrances worn alone.

I was so disappointed by that fragrance, just smelt like old men and pipe smoke to me lol

So today I did a little bit of a test and tried some layering…. I started off with Brazilian bum bum cream, then sprayed some Ralph Lauren euphoria eau de parfum, let that dry down and then sprayed Ariana Grande cloud on my neck and chest.
Wow…. 🤩 I have no idea how or why but this combo is divine and I’m in heaven!

Tomorrow I’m trying my favourite rituals body’s cream (ritual of Sakura rice milk and cherry blossom) with Caroline herrara good girl perfume and I want something a little bit almondy on my neck. I’m thinking Dior hypnotic poison but it might be wayyy to much 😂 Will let you all know how it goes 😂

I love layering. Even my mitchum deodorant (powder fresh) is lovely when I want to feel talcum fresh. I got a noted aromas sample set and love Madagascar, it's inspired by TF Vanille Fatale. It's very strong and lasts, I can smell it in clothes in the washing machine! Going to get a big bottle.

Tried out a few different samples/testers while out and about this week:

Dior New Look 2024 version: smells like shaving soap and dries down to a fig-roll/dry-ish sweet-ish incence type scent. Not a fan. The shaving soap smell lasts for ages and overpowers everything else. The aldehydes are really harsh in this one.

Chanel Comete: touted as an otherworldly cherry blossom, but actually a classic soft iris. Nothing spectacular, but nice if you like iris frags.

Charlotte Tilbury Cosmic Power: generic spicy opening and generic spicy drydown but in the middle there's a really interesting coca-cola phase that I really liked.

CT Joyphoria: pleasant sunny floral. Will probably sell well over the summer.

CT Love Frequency: starts as a peppery fresh rose and dries down to a strong patchouli with a hint of rose.

Someone had nicked the Tilbury More Sex tester, so I imagine it's a) working its ☆sexy magic☆ across the nation and b) the most popular one of her range, so I couldn't test that one

The Tilbury frags overall are pretty decently made, and two of them are much more interesting and unexpected than I thought anything under the CT brand would be (Magic Energy and Cosmic Power) but I still think the bottles and ad copy let them down.

Still on the hunt for my summer fragrance.

I sprayed Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc and they smell so similar! Not convinced by either sadly. There's something something a bit soapy I don't like.

Bronze Goddess is being discontinued, according to the lady on an Estee Lauder counter I passed last week?
It doesn't smell nice on me anyway- gorgeous on a card but not right on my skin.

Have you tried Alien Goddess from Mugler? It’s a bit more coconutty and tropical but similar DNA to Soleil Blanc
