Hi everyone. My hunt for my favourite perfume continues, I don't get the time to go into shops and spray on me to test so I feel a bit blind. I really love Aesop (we have various handwashes and balms from there) and would love to get hold of a discovery set or even just a couple of samples from them but can't see that they do such things, does anyone know?

I'm wearing Liz Earle no 15 today, such a lovely warm spicy winter fragrance without being too heady. I really like all of the perfumes she does but this is my fave.

Well I have to say, I know I am late to the party BUT I am totally in love with Byredo Bal d' Afrique !!
I went to Selfridges and had a sniff, let's just say I was back within the week to purchase a bottle , I am saving it though for special occasions as it's a bit pricey for everyday wear ..

I'm going on a search for new perfume (and using up the ones I've got that i'm now actively boycotting like old Aqua di Parma, Estée Lauder brands and Lancôme ones). So I'll be going perfume hunting this weekend. I'm thinking of trying some niche ones that are fresh but don't smell like air freshener or laundry detergent, (or fruit gums/ bubblegum) like the newer ones do lately

Why are you boycotting those brands? I mean Lancome perfumes these days are pretty uninspiring but I wasn't aware of a reason to boycott.

Lancôme is owned by L'Oréal - (a major centre for development of nuclear chemical and biological weapons on behalf of Israel’s military establishment) and Nestle (an awful company doing things with their products to deliberately harm babies in other countries for money) owns a major stake in L'Oréal too. This time I want to avoid using as much of my money as possible on brands that do bad things like these and where i can find a better alternative instead

@pink321 what’s your budget like? The most gorgeous, fresh smelling perfume I’ve had is “Meliora” by Parfums de Marley. It’s a very light, floral, “clean” scent but has great projection and just smells very beautiful (think classy and chic, rather than air freshener haha). There are some fab perfumes in Zara at the minute too, a great variety and aren’t expensive

Ooh thank you! Meliora sounds just about right, I'm going to check that out. I'll go up to £200 if it's super nice, but would love to take a look at the other ones you've mentioned too. 🤗

It’s honestly gorgeous! I wish I could mail you my sample to try 😂 I’m gonna splash out on the big bottle.

Are the Sol Janeiro perfumes long lasting? I've been using the Bum Bum Cream for a few days now and I love how it smells but would only buy a bottle of scent if I knew it had decent staying power.

Not really. I have two but they don’t last much longer than a regular body spray. The smell is very “potent” if that makes sense? (The sillage). But it doesn’t last ages tbh

they smell lovely though but I’d only keep them in my bag for a top up throughout the day

Classic Jean Paul Gaultier - I’m telling you it will make people fall in love with you.
I smelt it in John Lewis the other day and it took me back. Might have to get my first bottle in 20 years.

did anyone wear Lancôme Miracle Forever? Used to love that but long discontinued.

No lasting power whatsoever, I really regret buying it. The cream has far better lasting power so I'd say stick with that

Are you thinking of the body sprays, or perfume mists as they call them? They only have one actual perfume, SOL Cheirosa ’62, which is the Bum Bum cream smell

Yes! I didn’t realise they did an actual perfume as well, but I just have the body mists. The cream has great lasting power but don’t know if I’d invest in a perfume with the same smell (especially if it doesn’t have good lasting power). Such a shame because they do beautiful scents!
