Hi All, I have to say one thing. This is the time of the year I'm glad I'm a Nurse and USUALLY have to work. This yr I'm off so I drove my mom to our yearly Xmas party at my oldest sisters house. Christmas is a struggle without my Dad. He died 3 yrs ago. We were extremely close. I went to his gravesite today. He isn't there I know but it was beautiful. I felt his presence.(He is at Washington's Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.)...ANYHOW, this will sound silly or stupid but THANK YOU to this site, mods, and tattlers. When Ive been anxious, Ive logged on. When I can't sleep, I log on. Bored? I've logged on. I can't recall a vlog where SHE puts Abbie to bed. I think once she goes up those stairs she isn't coming back down until the morning so she just doesn't do it and it's understood by everyone else. It's typically A or I or Summer but never her. It's the most basic of parenting responsibilities. Not typically for a 15 year old but their 15 year old certainly needs it so why can't she get off her fat ass and do it? This bothers me. Maybe if she had been doing that all along her daughter would have some attachment to her.

I dislike A however I do feel he does for more for Abbie than Cilla and for that I give him credit over her. He may be a smug selfish bastard but at least he looks after her which is more than he does for his other daughter and far more than his hippopotamus of a wife ever does.

I find her cold. I didn't in the beginning. Her mask started to slide off as the money increased. She does not seem warm or nurturing at all. It comes off as fake affection to me. Assa is def better with her(but he's still an asshole, imo)I feel that at this point, P should 100% be doing washing/showering her especially her peri area. I wouldnt think Assa would be as thorough as another woman would be. And Abby needs daily perineal care multiple times a day especially with her added incontinence. I said this before and someone chewed me out. I know if I was her mom, I WOULD NOT WANT/EXPECT my husband to do peri care. In a diaper 24/7, sweating in the FL heat, even if Abby toilets herself she isn't wiping well esp after BM's.Im not saying or insinuating anything is inappropriate with her Dad washing her but she has a woman's body developmentally at 15 1/2 y.o. She would be ripe by the time she comes home from school. P or Summer(if Summer wants to) should be doing it. Assa and Isaiah should not at all be expected to. Its not right because Abby has several female people at home to do it. If I'm way off, give it to me. Maybe it's the RN in me.

I've wondered, too. Possibly it is a financial issue. The price of bicycles went sky high and the supply low during Covid. I think Donna didn't anticipate the high price tag. A's Dad would be aware of the dent in their budget and could have been embarrassed if he was aware that family had to chip in. Having it gifted to him is different. Not defending the Asshole, but this is a possibility.

I agree it was financial, but it wasnt HIS gift to give. Perhaps Donna wanted to save up and give it as a birthday or anniversary or Fathers Day gift? Asa just stole that from her, and as he admitted- he didnt even tell her he did it, she had to watch it all unfold. She doesn't know if she's shaking her head yes or no half the time and can't figure out where the hole on a cup lid is to drink out of it properly or use the tv remote. She cannot unbuckle herself from that harness which would take the coordination of pressing index finger and thumb together with some pressure simultaneously. No way no how. Completely STAGED!!!

She does....or at least she used to. In the old house, she literally grabbed a glass on the counter, went to the sink, poured some water in and drank it...twice in a row. No prompting, no spilling nothing. Her yes and no reactions were reliable. A lot of her behaviour and progress stopped within the last year and I think it is because everything is so god damn confusing to her.
Just imagine you have limited understanding about what is going on and your communication is limited to shaking your head and a handful of signs (and acting out, but I'll leave that out). But whenever you get asked for your opinion and you shake your head and it isn't right and you get poked and asked until you give the "right" (aka convenient) answer and your signs get ignored or explained away. How long would it take for you to not trust this way of communication? The answer seems to be wrong, even though they asked for your opinion or preference. So every interaction is basically a lottery. There is a term for that, it's gaslighting (manipulation until you don't trust yourself) and it is profoundly damaging to even a neurotypical adult. Doing that to a dependent 15 year old is malicious.
Now just add into the mix that this constant chaos is harder to deal with because of her autism (which is still there, IDD or not). A key element of the autism spectrum is the need for set routines and for things to be done the same way every.single.time. No exceptions. Everything deviating from the norm throws one off big time. I know that first hand. It's not pretty. Maybe the other autistics on here (like @WoahThatsCrazy) can weigh in with their experience.
Another issue could be her meds. She looks drugged and tired most of the time now. Fun little sidenote: Depending on the type of meds, the lazy eye could be a result of it. That's just speculation though.
I am lukewarm about the harness thing. I agree that she has issues with motor control. we did however see her unpack candy at record speed, so there is a possibility. Maybe it was just coincidence or big P is just too dumb to properly secure the harness. Or just manufactured drama. I have no idea with this family...
