If anyone here's as old as me, they might remember sellers who'd set up on the pavement of London's Oxford Street or wherever, surrounded by a gaggle of "interested people" proffering cash and gasping and pointing in amazement as the 1980s version of Simon seller showed off their fake designer watches or whatever crap they were selling. Except the "interested people" were of course just stooges, probably being bunged a couple of quid for half an hour's work

I own a similar number of bras and I'm struggling to think of a scenario where ALL of them would be laundered in one go.

I second whoever puts their supermarket bras in the tumble. Altho my knockers are teeny tiny so nice bras add nothing to my life. Get away with teenage style trainer bras! In the same way as I have no lips, so lipstick is redundant. Lacking elements of perceived femininity is very liberating!
Also 9 bras doesn't seem a lot for someone like Clemmie who has a whole kitchen dresser dressing room rammed with clothes.
I don't do a lot of dressing up, socialising and events. I keep a fairly minimal wardrobe. I can get away with a few bras for sport, a few for general daily wear and a couple for occasions (and I'm aware it's a privilege to be able to afford several). That's 9 right there before adding any "fancy" ones, greater selection of colours/styles etc.
