Well, that's the image she likes to show the world, but I think she's in reality very calculated, business savvy and manipulative.
hahahah maybe one of them is a danger to the other! Charlie is kind of rough in nature...

And I also think that she is very uptight and has no sense of humor what so ever, but to be fair, she does have many talents: she speaks Spanish, she made her own jewelry and sold it, she knows how to cook and sew and she had excellent marks at school (university?), so she is clever too.
I'm not saying she's stupid because she is intelligent (VERY) and talented but not very smart to announce where she lives because its extremely easy to find.

Josie's mum LaLaughingstock used to own a B&B, so it wouldn't surprise me
I keep looking for hints/ideas that would indicate this. Otherwise why on earth buy such a big place especially for a couple with a dodgy income source. Unless they paid for it outright how do they get a mortgage? Unless Mum is on the mortgage/deeds too.

I can predict the vlog. This time next year ‘Charlie and I have decided to move back to London. The house was too large for two people and not sustainable enough.’ We will see the house selling for £500k less than she paid because of market conditions and they will live in the Chiswick flat for a year to try and recoup losses.

I can’t believe she actually said they wanted Waitrose to sponsor them ! You just bought an 1.8 m £ home and you are begging a supermarket chain for money ? This is tragic.

I was relieved to see Le Creuset didn’t send them gifts. As many of you stated, it really diminishes the image of the brand in my eyes. I have Le Creuset « cocottes » and like them very much.

She is complaining about the heating costs, when she knew the building was listed and the windows were included, so she cannot change them for energy efficient ones. She should do as real life châtelains do, wear a few layers of cashmere underneath your jacket if you are not able to heat your house, but be classy and not mention it.

From what I understood the Aga works on electricity and is on 24/7, that is absolutely crazy. First because it must be very expensive, but also, what a total waste of energy ! So much for being « sustainable » !

They are being sustainable only when it works for them and is convenient. No stepping out of comfort zone . ☺

if it’s a proper Aga then they run on oil. But yes they’re on 24/7.
Lots of people use them for heating too so they get turned off march through to October. Theirs won’t be used for heating though.

I'm curious to see how annoying Charlie is, so I think I'm gonna watch a vlog, any good ones recently, where he features with his annoying *know-it-all-ness*??

Yep and they just kill all wildlife that's in the way, because they can't have a pond that isn't instagrammable 🙄.

All of them 😉. The first one in the kitchen is a good one to start, but brace yourself because it's going to be an attact on your nervous system 😆.

I wish they would get some ducks for the pond, then we can have duck voices to go with the doggy ones. ;)

I think I remember Charlie saying it runs on electricity in one of the first vlogs (could be wrong).
The only « sustainable » option is some wood operated oven/heater.

Normally an Aga runs on electricity and true, it's a total waste of electricity! On continental Europe it's therefore rarely used anymore. On the one hand, they pretend being eco friendly and on the other hand they behave like stone age people - the aga, treating the pond with chemicals so that even animals die, etc. etc.. Lady Aga and her dwarf are such hypocrites!

I think traditionally Aga's used to be wood burners. They would run totally throughout the winter months, then you would turn them off and convert to a conventional cooker for the summer.

Love, Love, love her house. Hate how boring this woman is.
However, must say that I really appreciate her “genuine” style. She is one of the few influencers that stays true to her style and doesn’t fall into silly trends.

Please DO NOT encourage this (just in case she is snooping in here) lol

Seriously 💯

I forgot to mention. Why need a heater when you have Sweaty Betty thermals darlings to keep you nice and toasty throughout the cold months?

I always got the impression these two are raging Tories :0
They probable are, but that doesn't stop them from jumping on the sustainability bandwagon when it suits them.

In the Netherlands we call them salon socialists 😉.

Traditionally they were solid fuel but can be converted to electricity, oil or gas.
My uncle had one in his new house which was electricity after the first winter he had it converted to oil which was much more economical.
They aren't practical unless you have a large family or farm in which you are constantly feeding people or drying clothes. Then and only then do they show their worth.

I have a feeling they might move in to the cottage and rent out the Rectory as one of those all inclusive wedding, party, hen/stag do venues.
If they are allowed or get permission off course.
