With all the discussion about Eve in the industry and how shes been given less desirable seats, does anyone know anything about her housemates? Apparently Raina's doing pretty well for herself in a magic circle firm with competitive seats and even achieved a 1st in her law degree.
Pretty sure she's still living with Raina and that other girl with the black hair who she went Porto with. She used to post a lot with them.

Guessing since she is in her first serious relationship she's lost focus on them though lol

The girl with black hair moved in with her boyfriend but can’t remember what her name is and and that’s where Katherine moved in!

Ahhah the girl with the black hair I was referring to was Katherine. The old flat mate was anushka, who I actually know of and she’s not the nicest of people .

pls spill the beans 🙏
Looool. She’s very very obnoxious and RUDE and the sort of girl that looks you up and down if she’s threatened by you. She always went in and out of this posh accent, was so keen to fit in with her boyfriend and his posh mates. Just not my cup of tea tbh.

Karma is a witch though because she’s the only one from that clique still without a training contract.

Really?? Even after nearly 2 years of her being out of the lpc she doesn’t have a training contract? That seems kinda unbelievable

Yup it’s actually very common. When I graduated the figures were that 20,000 law students graduated but only 6,000 end up with TCs and most of these weren’t at elite firms. It’s probably even worse now with covid

I do wonder if Eve would have been able to land her current TC with Linklaters if it wasn't for her YouTube channel, especially as she was essentially an outreach person at one point or another

I think her having this huge audience of current/future law students, plus a platform overall, probably gave her some more headway than a person who has similar grades/experience (outside of YT) to her

I assumed they all had TCs to commit to that insanely expensive Central London rent/lifestyle. Is her family loaded then?

well she’s a paralegal at a US firm, they typically pay paralegals 40k plus overtime so sure she’s fine money wise.

yeah I agree with you, her YT deffo helped. That’s why now I’m seeing a trend with law students trying to be “the next eve” but honestly it’s not as “unique” now, she’s lucky she started at the beginning when it wasn’t a big thing to mix law & social media (at least I didn’t see anyone do it to the extent she has in the UK YT world)

How is Eve randomly back up north today with her girlfriend? Didn't think we could go travelling across the country just yet - Chester and London are hardly local 🙄

The 'stay local' advice ended for England a few days ago with the first stage of unlocking, but the advice remains about mixing with people outside your household.

Pretty sure it went from stay at home to stay local, and we should still be aiming to minimise travel?

I wonder if she’s disappointed... I mean even though the money's good, it must be terribly difficult to live with the fact that you’ve failed

Emphasis on should, considering eve has moved back in with her family over the last year (first lockdown) and then done whatever she likes aka get a girlfriend, stay in hotels, live with her friends, she really won’t give a duck because I’ve found the people who haven’t lost much or sacrificed any thing have been most likely to break the rules, where as people who have lost loved ones from cancer and covid and who aren’t earning £££ have sacrificed a lot over the last year

Looks like Eves going back into the office again. It’s optional and I know her firm isn’t enforcing it yet.
Seems a bit desperate- like was she that bored at home.

Also side note Linklaters really need to revamp their offices jesus

I wouldn’t call her going to the office desperate. I am not a lawyer (but I am in an industry with very similar work/life balance if not worse) and going to the office is sometimes the best thing I can do for my sanity. It gets incredibly lonely and boring at home and there are always people to talk to in the office. If I am working until 1am I have to actually get home so that gives me a bit of break between work and sleep so that I have some time to get my brain ready for bed instead of just getting up from the chair and throwing myself on the bed. The setup is better because even though we got basically every electronic we need for home office it is still not the same as the full office setup. The other thing is that there is food in the office provided for us that I don’t have to cook, order or make any effort towards making and I think most big law firms also have this. These are just my reasons Eve could also have different ones but overall I don’t think going to the office is desperate.

Cool, that's fair enough.

Jelly, my office stopped the food thing when the pandemic began 😓Ofc you can still order but it takes time and money, while previously we had access to a legit canteen with free breakfasts and snacks.
