Emphasis on should, considering eve has moved back in with her family over the last year (first lockdown) and then done whatever she likes aka get a girlfriend, stay in hotels, live with her friends, she really won’t give a duck because I’ve found the people who haven’t lost much or sacrificed any thing have been most likely to break the rules, where as people who have lost loved ones from cancer and covid and who aren’t earning £££ have sacrificed a lot over the last year
Never forget the first lockdown when you weren't meant to see anyone and she went round Jack Edward's flat to cut his hair 🤦🏾‍♀️

I'm curious if Eve does too many chatty vids and answers the same questions over and over again. Getting a bit stale.

OMG just realised that I got the wrong Eve!

Sorry. Thought she was Eve Bennett.

It’s funny in her Instagram bio she’s put that’s she’s a criminal justice reform advocate... but what exactly has she done to help that cause?

She made one video about it once so therefore she is an expert.

The money for business law is great but I know she's always had more passion for criminal law.

I can’t believe that no one here talked about how Eve recently made two videos about gender in the workplace with someone who is openly hostile to trans students and staff. When Eve and I were there, the person in the videos actively worked to make Bristol less friendly to trans people.

I do wonder if Eve would have been able to land her current TC with Linklaters if it wasn't for her YouTube channel, especially as she was essentially an outreach person at one point or another

I think her having this huge audience of current/future law students, plus a platform overall, probably gave her some more headway than a person who has similar grades/experience (outside of YT) to her
I’ve seen this a couple times in this thread, but Eve was never an outreach person for Linklaters. Most trainees get roped into doing something for grad recruitment at some point. The fact they humoured Eve and let her make a video or two in the office doesn’t mean she was hired to do outreach for them. Eve was a brand ambassador for a different firm though, CMS I think.

I guarantee you that YouTube had nothing to do with her getting her TC. She would have applied for the vac scheme that lead to the TC around Christmas 2016. She had hardly any subscribers back then. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t even mention it on her application. The firm might not have known she infrequently made videos back when they offered her the vac scheme.

It’s interesting that she has hidden all of the videos she made in school and in the first two years of uni.

Looool. She’s very very obnoxious and RUDE and the sort of girl that looks you up and down if she’s threatened by you. She always went in and out of this posh accent, was so keen to fit in with her boyfriend and his posh mates. Just not my cup of tea tbh.

Karma is a witch though because she’s the only one from that clique still without a training contract.
Unlike Eve, I dIdn’t really know Anushka. But as far as I remember, Eve wasn’t really friends with her. It was more like Anushka’s friends were friends with some of Eve’s friends so that group tolerated Eve sometimes tagging along. Eve definitely wasn’t “cool” enough to be friends with them.

Really?? Even after nearly 2 years of her being out of the lpc she doesn’t have a training contract? That seems kinda unbelievable
Thats quite interesting actually. We know Eve was "doing the right" things to get a TC with her 2:1 grades, vacation schemes, Bristol Law Society committee positions and her Pro-Bono society. Raina seemed to be at a good standing too with top tier grades (1st's in about everything with some awards), vacation schemes and part-time work. Anushka did a lot of extra stuff at university too but my guess is that her grades were too low.

Maybe she was also too narrow in what/where she was willing to look.

You can have the best grades & experience (either law experience or any experience is fine as long as the skills are transferable), but if she lacks commercial awareness & the ability to communicate her passion for corporate law then firms won't bother. It's tough

Dang, thank you (and @Gilly88) for the scoop. Always thought she was just more introverted than Eve and Raina, but looking back now she came off as kinda standoff-ish in Eve's videos lol

What gender in the workplace videos are you referring to? They're not on her channel, are they?

Thought this was funny. Someone posted this comment on Roll on Friday (a website where a lot of lawyers gossip). They’ve redacted the persons name but 100% seems to be talking about Eve.

I’m in the industry myself and I can’t think of anyone else it could be about. Plus they refer to a “managing associate” which is a known Linklaters position/title (99.9% of other firms use “Senior Associate”). Basically seems no one wants to work with her, may explain why she’s doing a random start up seat now.
I have to bring that up again, are you sure this is about Eve? I feel kinda bad for her, a lot of Law Students around the world look up to her and are inspired and motivated by her, although her content isn't perfect (no ones is), I don't think it's fair to say that she shouldn't have been hired?

Yes it's definitely about her, I looked at the original post.

Definitely sucks for her, and I agree it's not fair to say she shouldn't have been hired. Eve seems like a really hard worker (off-camera mostly, and actually working towards a goal unlike some other studytubers), while still having a social life and hobbies and activities on the side.

I don't know what law students generally think of Eve, but I found her "omg I'm such a law student!" because she had a highlighter in her hand, worked until 1 am or drank a lot of coffee pretty cringy. Those are things most students do? For me, that reinforced the stereotype that law students think they're better and more hard-working than anybody else lol

I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that eve is going to do a video titled: “The Legal Side of The European Super League”

On her LinkedIn it still says that she’s no longer with millennial coffee club... I also wonder if she will finally explain what happened last year

Pretty sure it will now just be used to sell her own merch, hence the 'restock'

Honestly, making your own coffee seems to be an overly big project for anyone. It's probably why a lot of YouTubers just stick to simple merch like clothes, books and generally stuff that isn't edible/ingestible
