And if they’re looking to attract “diversity” such as working class people, those of colour, etc. she isn’t an example of such attributes.
Judging by my emails, there's been a push for LGBTQ+ and people of colour in the sector for sure. Eve obviously meets only one of those criteria but it's beneficial for them either way

I think to be fair to Eve she got the job at Linklaters before she came out as gay so I doubt that had any bearing on their decision to employ her.
Her TC would be before she was out/knew she was gay for sure. I mentioned once how her experience with possibly feeling excluded from such workplaces therefore wouldn't be reflective of an average candidate who is going in being sure of their identity already

Her current position as an associate (?) would be after she came out as gay. Though I think someone mentioned that Linklaters offer a position to most of their trainees?

I was a bit weirded out at that comment, not gonna lie. Not everybody can be the best at their job anyway??? As long as you do what you're supposed to do, there's no need to be the absolute best at what you do. It's a very toxic mindset to have, in any aspect of your life, and one that's quite immature imo.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a common mindset in law to an extent, especially among recent graduates who maybe haven’t settled down as much

ok um I find it weird how eve's GF must have blocked me on instagram. because her account still exists but I can't find it on my ig. maybe I watched her story a couple of times when it was mentioned on here but what did I do? perhaps I accidentally liked one of her posts without realising and she found it weird?

I liked the video but - I wish we saw more day in the life stuff like her breakfast or dinner or getting ready - we just got the work. Also the fact it was an AD video and she didn’t disclose it AND there were YouTube ads running on it

Actually enjoyed her new video! Can’t fault her effort, most other YouTubers would’ve just sat in their bed and answered the questions.
Yeah me too! The spon was a bit cringe but i honestly don’t really care about ads in YT vids, as long as it doesn’t go on too long lol. I wonder what route she will take for her YT channel - career advice/general lifestyle/lgbt+ orientated?

Okay, let's agree to disagree haha. I live in London too and a few of my friends have recently bought with c. £30k in places like Streatham, Leyton etc. As I said, it depends where in London you want to buy but it's defo possible to buy a property here without having a £100k deposit.
Fairs enough, maybe there are some hidden gems lurking about.

Anyways apologies back to Eve ahah

Yeah lawyers work what, 70+ hour weeks(?) they do ridiculous OT because that’s part of the job. They’re paid not to have a social life, to put in all their energy and enthusiasm into the job instead.

The whole “I go back on my terms” rubbed me up the wrong way lol. Not everyone has that option, you go back to the office if your boss says, end of. If Linklaters say all employees must go back (after all, don’t they have facilities to finance too?) she may have no choice either. Depends on what makes sense financially for the company
She knew what she was signing up too! It’s not like she only started in the pandemic….

Must be hard to become partner
Honestly, whatever you think of Eve's YT/Influencer content, she is clearly a hard working and motivated person.

I think she's the tip of the iceberg really and it'll come back to bite some of these companies if they don't adapt to the expectations of the upcoming Gen-Z who are not afraid to stand up for themselves and advocate for a work-life balance. No one should be working 80 hours a week and honestly, she's probably far better off in tech earning ~£50k (half of her previous) and being able to have a LIFE. Past a certain point, money doesn't do that much to make you happy. You can't buy more hours in the day or years of your life back.

I used to find her relatable but now I feel like she only does a video when she has a sponsor

Do you guys think Eve knows about this page? She has deleted pictures with her girlfriend and her girlfriend made her profile private. She deleted and blocked (!) me although I've never taken screenshots or anything. I didn't even watch her stories on a regular basis. I guess she's just very cautious now that so much private information has been leaked. I feel sorry for her since she's not a person in the public eye. I know that people are interested in who she is, but that doesn't justify giving away her parent's names and posting pictures of her home IMO.
I've been removed too

I think the wealth gap is a good point I didn't realise that Eve's girlfriend was so rich. I think this is another point to add to what I said above and will ultimately be a reason why this relationship doesn't work out in the long term.

On her LinkedIn it still says that she’s no longer with millennial coffee club... I also wonder if she will finally explain what happened last year
