She never studied Law A-level or knew anyone who did Law, I wonder why she chose Law...when she clearly likes science. She did Bio A-level and said in one of her captions that she misses learning about plants or something. I wonder why she didn't go down the science route.I think she also really enjoyed studying it. Which baffles me as I found the work my lawyer friends did at uni dreadfully dull
I roll my eyes at Eve now, but I do respect how hard she worked.

It's harder to make money in science. I think Eve is driven by wealth accumulation hence why she chose law.
Looks like she's now moving out of Links and into product management in legal tech.

Kind of surprised with how much she pushed the 'I'm a lawyer' brand
I bet she couldn’t hack the hours and I remember reading in the FT comments of the article on her that she’s known to not be very good at her job. I think she cared more about the status of being a lawyer gave her than actually being a lawyer.
I saw it in my own cohort, the trainees who came in the most boastful and posting stories about the job- quickly leave within a few years. They thought law would be their “Suits” dream when it’s actually an incredibly stressful and complex job.
That new role she’s got will result in at least a 60-70% pay cut too, so she really wanted out.

I remember seeing the comments about her not being great at her job but I question the validity of those to be honest. If that was true why was she offered an associate position within Linklaters?

I agree, even if she isn't excellent she surely could not have been bad at her job. I get the feeling that with the pandemic and her relationship she realized that her personal life is a lot more important to her than she initially believed it would be, maybe her coming to terms with her sexuality and feeling more comfortable with her life and interests played a role in that too. honestly seems like a good decision for her especially since she liked tech so much (which I always thought was random and out of the blue, but what do I know about her interests). considering she's still technically at linklaters the pay must still be good
Well she was kept on in corporate where the only real skills needed as a trainee is document management. Her rep of being crap probably came from the other departments. I know she sat in EDM and competition for instance which is much more technical.
Yup all about status and title for her.
There is arguably very little “STEM” involved in her role. She won’t be the one building the software. I suspect her main role will be to liaise with internal and external teams to see who wants to use the platform and plan how to roll it out.
