Her MCC website just has a holding page which says 'We're working on something..." - probably refers to a change in management. The first thing that sprang to mind was that she could no longer import/get access to the coffee she chose to sell due to the current global situation, so decided to give that up altogether.

MC firms seem quite intense, so fair enough to her if she wants to try a secondment elsewhere. She absolutely won't be coding though, wonder why she's got that idea

Maybe Eve views herself as coming from a ‘poor family’ and ‘state school’ because she is constantly surrounded by very middle class people? I guess she just compares herself to her peers. Her girlfriend looks very wealthy and her roomies also seem very comfortable. That girl Anushka seems loaded. So maybe she just doesn’t realise...

But it’s about checking your privilege, now isn’t the time for relative poverty etc, eve might not be upper middle class but she’s deffo middle class! That affords you more than she’ll realise

Also I agree that if someone has a public instagram AND dates someone with a large following who basically showcases their life then they shouldn't be surprised random ppl look at their stuff. Like you either want privacy or not.

I'd have thought that a magic circle firms would be very 'tempting' (can't think of a better word) for newly qualified solicitors

My understanding is that it gives you a leg up in terms of exit opportunities, by having that magic circle name on your CV. The workload and hours are extremely grinding - similar to how many people will start off at Big Four accountancy firms for the first few years and then seek opportunities elsewhere as it opens a lot of doors. Probably applies to investment banking too e.g with those working at Goldman Sachs.

Yeah, she kept using “them”/“person” when talking about relationships in her recent “Taking Myself on a Date” video. I think it’s very telling when people make an effort not to use gender when referring to dating.

Yeah, I think she could've had the conversation in a much better way - I get what she was trying to say but she kind of missed the mark a little bit and made it about herself rather than actually having a useful discussion. I get that Youtubing is about yourself and your life but that video could've been way better imo

I used to find her relatable but now I feel like she only does a video when she has a sponsor

I imagine plenty of people she works with have also broken the rules, the difference is that the majority of them won’t be running public social media accounts with sizeable followings. I imagine the majority of their social media is private in general tbh

Eve’s behaviour naturally reflects on her workplace and it’s out there for literally everyone to see

Totally agree. I have no idea why everyone is raving about her merch either, it's so basic! I don't even understand what it is, I didn't bother watching her announcement video but on Twitter she made it sound like she was releasing her own coffee. Is it just the hoodies and cups?

Controversial but
Thing is... I don't think I would be that mad at her for saying that the pandemic/lockdown wasn't overall horrible. Breaking rules is another thing obviously, but then that's just sort of realistic. I know plenty of people who broke rules and their pandemic wasn't as bad as it could have been

I think trying to fit yourself into the 'dark time' pandemic that many people genuinely experienced is just not very nice tbh

well she’s a paralegal at a US firm, they typically pay paralegals 40k plus overtime so sure she’s fine money wise.

I wonder if she’s disappointed... I mean even though the money's good, it must be terribly difficult to live with the fact that you’ve failed

That's a taste thing really, I drink pretty much exclusively filtered coffee too tbh, even at coffee shops, I just prefer the taste.
