Long time lurker etc etc but I am appalled at her latest video… the upbeat music, the segue from videos talking about a woman’s death to her smug face introducing her new approach channel, the even more awful segue into a cringe advertisement. I just can’t deal with it any more I think what I’m most confused about is that she did law at undergrad, then the LPC, tried (and ultimately failed) to be a corporate lawyer for all of 5 mins… on what planet of all of the cringe and arrogance of these YouTubers does she think she’s qualified to talk as an « expert » on such a sensitive topic?! Genuinely felt nauseous watching her latest vid and just had to come on here and rant

someone in the comments linked it to "doing tiktok dance while captions pop up describing Ugandan genocide", which gives a pretty accurate portrayal of what she's doing. quirky smiles, upbeat music, random advert thrown in, and a topic which doesn't work with that.

for me, the title reminded me of those tumblr and aesthetic notes that girls take in school in which they write something like The Holocaust

as someone that worked for a corporate firm, not in law and thankfully not in london, but with almost comparable hours, when a firm offers all this bullshit it's because you're going to be working such unsociable hours you won't have time to do all these things outside the office. I would disagree on the pronouns! It will help those who feel categories as others, what you do have to question is how much someone like eve would actually be in contact with someone who doesn’t use he or she. What’s wrong with just using people’s names? Then it avoids making them feel left out too? But maybe I’m just from a sector of work where prounouns are really important to the individuals who don’t feel like they fit in as a result of who they are

I just find it so odd, its the same as if someone left investment banking to become a hairdresser but then continued to collaborate with banks and speak at their events about working in banking. It’s weird, Eve let it go and go make your boring ass contract automation system

Tbf I think her girlfriend graduated last year if I’m not wrong and is already the marketing manager of a London theatre! So I think shes likely pretty hard working and driven too just persuing a very different career

Another thing i find odd, not just with this video, but with other legal content, she tends to talk about american law. And the thing is, she went to uni to study british law, which is not the same thing. So she can’t really speak as an ‘expert’ even if you cast aside the fact that she has no experience with criminal law

Okay, I do think that there is something to be said for queer people finding the appropriate clothes in certain contexts and it can be a bit difficult depending on how you present— for example, years and years ago a friend of mine who is a lesbian planned to wear a nice suit as a wedding guest and got a lot of pushback from her mother and other relatives begging her to wear a dress or something less ‘noticeable’. (I mean, wtf). Similarly, in the workspace if you dress a bit off what is ‘expected’ it can be a lot. Another friend of mine complained that when she wore more masculine outfits in the office she’d get the requisite office busy bodies stopping by like “whyyyy are you wearing thaaaaaaat lol!” or other weird questions. It can be easy for some of us to assume that there are no weird judgements to overcome when there still are.

All that said, Eve is just wearing a sweater vest and dress pants and she clearly presents as a feminine woman. I mean, I get it, but it does make me lol a bit. Look, in the first two years after coming out, especially if you come out a bit later in life, you tend to be a bit weird and obsessed with your new identity and trying out these new ways of being as though they are costumes. I expect she will calm down after a while and just settle back into herself but…… we’ll see.

The whole “blowing dead money on rent” doesn’t really stick here in London. My friends from my hometown don’t get it either so I understand the attitude.

But the vast majority of under 35s here rent. Deposits here are the highest in the country. Plus the quality and location you can get with buying varies massively to renting. I even had a friend that managed to buy a house in Ealing through auction but ended up selling it and renting in central again because location is so important for career and social life.



Standard Eve. Always one to exaggerate. When she actually does buy (which will take awhile now on that CreativIQ salary) she will be insufferable

London has become a total disgrace re. housing. A tiny monopoly of ultra rich people taking endless sky high rents from others.

It's hardly revolutionary. I don't scream from the rooftops every time I see a brand sell skimpy thongs AND fuller coverage briefs cos it's just not that special?
