I know this isn’t a page about her girlfriend: but eve, maybe don’t post a picture of someone clearly going against the rules of travel on tfl. When there is a literal sign behind her saying to wear a mask. And infection rates are rapidly increasing.
Eve, go ask your girlfriend for some outfit tips. The picture is an affront. Wearing a mask is the least one can do during a pandemic.

Does a firm like Linklaters really need to do outreach though? Their training contracts are so in-demand. I doubt they’re crying out for applicants. And if they’re looking to attract “diversity” such as working class people, those of colour, etc. she isn’t an example of such attributes.
I think it does, yeah. The top firms want the top candidates. Of those who don't go to the commercial bar, most will go to one of the MC firms or to a US firm. MC is great and looks v good on the CV but 1) Links is not the only one, and 2) US firms are a huge draw to many top candidates. Obv Links is super super oversubscribed (like all City law firms) but all the good firms want the very top people each year - so there is competition to attract them.

I wonder what it's like for Eve to be with someone that is - as has been pointed out on this thread before - extremely rich/comes from a very rich family. Don't get me wrong, Eve's parents definitely aren't poor, they seem to be a very (upper? ) middle class family but I'm sure she's not exactly used to the level of wealth the girlfriend grew up in and is accustomed to. I come from a working-class family and notice how I always feel and felt a tiny bit uncomfortable and out of place when e.g. staying at a friend's house whose family is very very wealthy. Clearly, Eve makes good money now but I am genuinely interested to what extent class differences impact her relationship. My partner doesn't come from the same, but a very similar background and I really enjoy that we see eye to eye on many issues because of that shared or similar life experience.
Honestly, I struggled to find the words for it in the first instance but in general (whether Eve or not feels the same way) there is a major power dynamic there when you have friends (or even partners) who have massive wealth differences, you know they have the best of intentions but sometimes it can feel really disempowering and you wonder whether they're aware of it too but you hope that they're blissfully unaware.

I can't speak for later in life ofc but regarding partners, I wrote it mainly concerning early adulthood/teenage years because I think you'd eventually get accustomed to it eventually if you're life partners though I think it would still be a bit of a shock in mid adulthood (suddenly getting a much wealthier friend/partner) but less so than when you're a young adult or a teenager.

Is it definitely rented? I'm surprised she's just blowing more dead money on rent. You would have thought she would have had enough to buy somewhere by now with the earnings she's been on.
Not everyone can afford to buy or live with their parent whilst they save, renting can show you a lot about what you want in a future property too, plus she clearly didn’t want to keep living with housemates which I don’t blame her for at 25 (or is she 24). The earnings aren’t the problem it’s the deposit, she might have been able to afford to buy but maybe she doesn’t want to for now as it’s expensive and she’s only ever lived in that one area in London so maybe she’s scouting out some other areas

But what kind of school did she go too? I don’t have linked in so can’t look but if she went to grammar school it’s essentially the same thing!
Grammar school gives advantages but my god it's not the same at all. I knew a lot of people from working class backgrounds who went there, and yeah while my school send a good amount to Oxbridge and other Russel group unis every year it's less about the connections of who they know, but more about the coaching they do with the ones applying.

I'd never deny I had (and still have) a privileged education, but I did NOT get the same privileges as I would if I'd gone to private school.

This really pains me because I normally LOVE Eve but this video felt so lazy. Showing us your working day in a pandemic that is starting to come to an end (i.e. things are opening up, we're moving towards a 'new normal') just doesn't fit the tone. She said on her Twitter that she wanted to do a 'Back to Work Outfits' series and that would have been so much better! The new academic year is starting, training contracts are beginning again - it would have made so much more sense. I know she has to pay the bills and wants to monetise her channel but really, ANOTHER Skillshare promotion? They practically own her channel at this point.

Honestly it would make more sense if she moved away from YouTube and just focused on TikTok/Instagram Reels - she clearly enjoys making content but having a YouTube Channel AND being an associate is clearly too much work for her

I remember her saying in one of her old vids that she chose law because she sat in a court room and she saw the barristers 'using latin words' and being all confident and said thats what I want to be. why did she pick being a solicitor over a barrister? of course peoples mind can change but did she ever mention it?
Money. Unless you're a top barrister you earn way more money being a solicitor especially in a magic circle firm.

I can’t believe that no one here talked about how Eve recently made two videos about gender in the workplace with someone who is openly hostile to trans students and staff. When Eve and I were there, the person in the videos actively worked to make Bristol less friendly to trans people.

I do wonder if Eve would have been able to land her current TC with Linklaters if it wasn't for her YouTube channel, especially as she was essentially an outreach person at one point or another

I think her having this huge audience of current/future law students, plus a platform overall, probably gave her some more headway than a person who has similar grades/experience (outside of YT) to her
I’ve seen this a couple times in this thread, but Eve was never an outreach person for Linklaters. Most trainees get roped into doing something for grad recruitment at some point. The fact they humoured Eve and let her make a video or two in the office doesn’t mean she was hired to do outreach for them. Eve was a brand ambassador for a different firm though, CMS I think.

I guarantee you that YouTube had nothing to do with her getting her TC. She would have applied for the vac scheme that lead to the TC around Christmas 2016. She had hardly any subscribers back then. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t even mention it on her application. The firm might not have known she infrequently made videos back when they offered her the vac scheme.

It’s interesting that she has hidden all of the videos she made in school and in the first two years of uni.

Looool. She’s very very obnoxious and RUDE and the sort of girl that looks you up and down if she’s threatened by you. She always went in and out of this posh accent, was so keen to fit in with her boyfriend and his posh mates. Just not my cup of tea tbh.

Karma is a bitch though because she’s the only one from that clique still without a training contract.
Unlike Eve, I dIdn’t really know Anushka. But as far as I remember, Eve wasn’t really friends with her. It was more like Anushka’s friends were friends with some of Eve’s friends so that group tolerated Eve sometimes tagging along. Eve definitely wasn’t “cool” enough to be friends with them.

To me her videos come across kinda like “fake deep” and low-key cringy and I agree with @bublifuk this is literally something we all go through and I do also get the slightly arrogant vibe from her :/

Isn't it now mandatory to be wearing a facemask on public transport now too? 😬
At least a few weeks ago it was more of a choice which you were strongly encouraged to take, now it's just plain stupid
Yep that is it! Clearly thinks she’s above the law!

The thing that gets me is that she would have entered law without thinking that she was LGBTQ and therefore 'out of place' in some way

Sounds like she started off keen and confident like many graduates (myself included 🤣) only to find the daily grind a bit depressing and soon you stop raving about your workplace when you realise they don't care about you.

I can imagine working for a magic circle firm is quite fast paced and that must be tiring.

Let’s face it, when her actual law job has picked up, she fucked YouTube and everything associated with it off, came back with an AD and once again has disappeared
And Squarespace pay WELL too. I don't believe for one second she wants to make content anymore, she just wanted a pay cheque.

Looks like millennial coffee club is coming back... at this point, who is exited

Eve is also apparently voting for a YouTube to be mayor of London... what? Why?
Max Fosh is running simply to try and get more votes than Laurence Fox. His campaign is pretty clever but nothing more than a joke so it’s sad Eve reckons she’s going to vote for him. I hope she’s joking.

I must say I do like the content Max puts out though.

are either of them living alone? if so they’d be allowed in each other’s bubble, no?
They both don’t live alone

Eve and her gf have broke the rules to get into a relationships and then travel at Easter but seems the gf is mega rich (the house looked insane) so again probs doesn’t think covid will affect her, before her insta was made private she had multiple photos in the last year with different people hugging them
