I think she’s very much of the middle class mindset where it does just go away, I could be wrong but I assume she has either covered over the problems or just doesn’t want to acknowledged them

I agree, she made that video after her first year about her mental health and talked about how she’d been to therapy. Now she just mentions it in passing like it’s something she just solved with a few sessions and even then it’s only when she’s filming Q&As

I believe (at least for students studying in the uk) you are not actually another household you count as an extension of your family - because you’ll be home (most people at least) for 4+ weeks over Christmas. This is what friends at unis in the country have told me - Eve is different because she is abroad but presumably the same principle applies (in her mind) that she is an extension of her household.

It's hard enough getting a job in a bar without previous experience as it stands right now, never mind going in with a) not a full grasp of the language and b) never having had any 'normal' customer service job.

I mean I agree about her not having any experience in customer facing jobs but I think she should have a very good grasp of the language. I admit I don’t know anything about the modern languages course at Oxford but I know that I didn’t have any problem working in Spain for the summer in a customer facing job after A-levels and first year of Spanish at university. And my course wasn’t even modern languages it just had a foreign language at a higher level as a requirement to graduate. So the language shouldn’t be a problem IMO. I don’t know why she is so set on working at a bar there maybe she should look for journalisms internships or just internships in general and maybe if the cases improve after couple of months with lockdowns and vaccinations maybe she can go there for a month if it is a requirement for her degree to stay in that country.
