Yeah I don't doubt that! But her reason for being so upset that she couldn't stay in Berlin was because she hadn't improved her German enough.. So to improve her Spanish she's going to all the way to Spain to teach in English? She could just stay at home and do a language course given the circumstances, but she's so set on having the perfect ~year abroad~ experience that she's not taking into account the global pandemic that is gonna make things hard for her

In one of her recent videos, it was sponsored by a online language school and she said that when she was back in England she was going to do some of the courses.

Her latest vid has Ruby Granger vibes, in her video clips (doing yoga, shower, brushing teeth, food clips). It seems to me she’s trying to inject some new energy into it.

Also I think she said she only works her internship 11am -5pm.

I did languages at Cambridge too and a C2 is pretty impossible unless you've spent extensive time in the country.

I got C1/ C2 by end of 2nd year at Cambridge and I'm very average for the cohort !

I think whatever age you are, you would want to see your family on Christmas. But yeah, I'm in the same position as you with uni, and it's been kind of hard to have to go through such a difficult time, not even being able to meet people, whilst studytubers were jetting off to Berlin. And now, the ones in Berlin are the ones complaining about how bad their situations are, whilst the rest of us have been having quite an awful time here in the UK.

Yeah I understand wanting to be with your family at Christmas but Eve is in such a privileged position. It just annoyed me that she wanted to see both her parents on Christmas Day - there’s literally no reason to travel between two houses, she could spend one week with her mum and a week with her dad. It’s been awfully shit for students in the UK but it’s okay for influencers to travel abroad and then complain when it’s difficult to come home for Christmas. It’s literally going to be difficult for me to come home for Christmas and that’s in the same country!!

I don’t want to defend her but if the system in Germany is the same as the U.K. the track and trace phone you every day and they ask how you are and about your symptoms and they tell you from what day you no longer have to isolate so I’m assuming she was told she can go out. Agreed I personally would isolate longer and definitely wouldn’t put it on Instagram but that is the rules and she won’t be the only one doing it

I’m sure test and trace is better in Germany than in the UK, I didn’t get called once when I was isolating!!

I remember the gg thread where someone from her family (either her, her sister or maybe her cousin- they sounded young) posted on the thread to say the stuff about her dad was inaccurate and to basically leave the family alone. I know her step mum is young but I don’t know if it was ever confirmed that she was around eve’s age

People were saying that when eves mum and dad divorced it was because he was with a 16 year old - quite a few years ago now so plausible that she had kids. I don’t really care tbh and there’s no way to prove it. But ngl if that was me I would be pretty pissed off at my dad

Also in her new video she said she wanted to be living up north in 5 years time. If she wants to be a journalist I imagine what she wants to do would be mostly based in London. And I thought she hated going back to a working class area when she comes back from uni so why would she want to move up north??

I guess you have Media City in Salford though, that's probably the attraction there. And you can get some lovely houses in Manchester that would be astronomically more expensive in London. Can only assume what it is

Could she not have done her final year at Oxford this year and then done a year abroad the year after? I imagine lots of student haven’t gone abroad, so eve should think herself lucky that’s she’s in Berlin in the first place and stop complaining all the time

Yes this omd - my cousin is a Dual citizen (born in Spain but studying over in Leicester. Originally he had a placement in Spain where he and my aunt etc live but the placement company cancelled it so he decided to come back to England to finish his degree here i.e. swap his placement and final year over!

It’s like she has so many opportunities and privilege but then complains when something doesn’t go slightly her way???? I don’t understand, if I had half the amount of chances she did - going to a grammar school, getting into Oxford, YouTube channel with a following, work experience, writing for Cherwell - I would not take it for granted or complain to followers about how hard her life is. She doesn’t recognise just how privileged she is and that other people have to work twice as hard to get to where she is. Eve is so entitled and snobby but hopefully when she gets to the real world she will grow up and realise that things don’t always revolve her
