I felt uncomfortable when Eve was talking about the podcast Molly listens to like she kept saying how she prefers “news and current affairs podcasts”, it just sounded so snobby. And how Eve decided to watch the news in the morning... she could’ve just sent her a quick message asking oh what do you do in the morning while eating breakfast. Also the comments about loose women like please eve
not everything has to be academicI do a languages degree. This year was a required year abroad for me too. My university insisted I had to go or I'd have to take a year off or go into final year and they were gerenally no help and very unsympathetic but it seemed irresponsible to go. I stood my ground and after months of arguing at the end of September they finally caved and had to sort out alternative assessments for me so I could continue my third year, without travelling. I do believe the students who went abroad, including Eve, went simply because they wanted to and not because they were helpless and had no other choice because their university was forcing them. I fought so hard to stay in the UK and when I saw Eve in Berlin being so irresponsible it made me feel like I had been unnecessarily paranoid but I think I made the right call.
To be fair, right after Scotland's lockdown was announced we knew Boris had an announcement and it wasn't hard to guess it might be a lockdown. I'm all for criticising Eve, but this feels a bit nitpicky to me.
Whenever you feel your life is a mess, remember that at least you're not one of those sad, selfish people that travels abroad in the midst of a pandemic (against all odds) but still manages to complain about their life every single day while people are dying x
