equitrek trailers have a bad rap from poor quality so it’s probably not working or faulty.
weight limit on the lorry appears to be 1.1 tonne so high probability that it was over loaded. Nor great for promo ☹
They aren't called equirecks for no reason. I expect Banksy would be 600kgs not sure about Emilys as I don’t know which one she took but Spritey would be 500kg at most. Probably between the 400-450kg range if she is about 14:2hh.

What do people think of riding with charlotte’s latest story of her posting some of the replies she’s had to her latest videos of vossi? I understand it must get annoying when people are giving you their opinion, but I also do agree that there is possibly something physically wrong with him. If he were mine, I’d be getting a work up. She said it can’t be pain as he’s apparently always been like this, even for previous owners, but to me that’s a red flag - if it isn’t/hasn’t got better!

She had a work up before, but I also think somethings not right. He doesn’t look happy in his face when he jumps, plus the speed he runs at fences, tail flicking and kicking out. I think she puts them stories on to get attention and validation messages that she’s doing the right thing.

I’ve never seen her before but had watch of the vlog. Not a fan of that, all the rushing round the corner then hauling on his mouth before the next fence, there was no rhythm. He doesn’t look like a comfortable horse.

Exactly. And even if he is 100% comfortable and a happy, sound horse, she needs coaching again by a good trainer. If I rode like she did in my lessons, my trainer would probably tell me to get off my horse.

Yep, and therefore he can’t possibly a comfortable horse with her riding like that.

Yeah I’m inclined to agree. I think she’s nervous so she holds holds holds then fires him once she sees the stride and this causes him to panic. He then can’t use his body properly because she’s holding him tight as he’s a strong horse. The fact he’s been stopping probably doesn’t help this either. I think she’d really benefit from finding a trainer she clicks with and can really help with the basics. The videos are getting quite repetitive now and as a viewer I’d much prefer watching her journey/progress with a knowledgable instructor going through the stages of training a more relaxed horse than some quite hairy arena hires all the time.

Rent a friend springs to mind 😂 I wish she would go back to how her instagram was as she used to be relatable. Most of us are trying to juggle a career and a horse but now she is just trying to jump on the influencer band wagon.

Interesting story today from RTG I do wish she’d listen to the riding comments but it wasn’t well put but that said the video today is a hide improvement and she’s clearly IMO a lovely person She deserves a better instructor IMO

I really hope she takes the comment on board. She is to heavy and riding in a saddle to small neither of which help. If she lost weight and got a saddle that fits both of them she would find if far easier to balance and not yank the horse in the mouth or thud back in the saddle like a a sack of spuds. And once that is sorted find a decent instructor as the one she has is tit.

RTG did start with a PT and accountability plan regarding eating, I’m sure she lost a fair bit early last summer and was doing lockdown workouts and calorie counting.
She is such a lovely person but I can’t help but cringe a little, peps is obviously a nice honest horse but there are glimpses that she isn’t happy about something sometimes.

Surely if your horse twists there pelvis one physio session won’t cure it so you can jump the week after, or am I just naive 🤷🏻‍♀️

Riding with Charlotte's new video of the course hire is horrendous.

Starting off when they're just warming up, the sitting trot in particular was awful, Vossi is trying to open his mouth to release pressure but is unable to do so because of the grackle, he also lifts his head to try and brace against the contact regularly and as seen at 8.45 and other moments twists his head to try and get away from the pressure. The tail swishing he does as well is another sign of discomfort.

Charlotte's position in sitting trot is awful, granted its quite difficult in a jump saddle which is why its not really a done thing, but because she is unable to sit the trot properly her body is completely out of alignment and she's ended up in a chair position with her upper body leaning even further back. All the sitting trot achieved with Vossi was to actually make him more hollow as he is uncomfortable and doesn't relax and work over his back properly.

The actual jumping is painful to watch. Charlotte gives so many mixed signals with her body and aids. Maybe this worked with previous horses she's had like Amber (?) who were more your point and kick horse but its definitely not working for a sensitive horse like Vossi.

First of all there is no rhythm at all. Charlotte rides in a hold and push style which doesn't suit Vossi. He needs to be able to be in a relaxed rhythm and its just not. Where are the placing poles, ground lines, etc... all the sort of things that would slow him down? Whilst I recognise that you don't have canter poles when you're out competing I think based on their last show they are a long way off from worrying about that. I honestly don't think they work as a partnership and don't trust each other and this shows in their jumping.

Further onto Charlotte. Her hands. Moments like 10.01 are horrendous. There was no reason for him to be sawed in the mouth like that. Funnily enough it ruined his rhythm, then she tried to fire him at the jump, and having just been socked in the mouth by her he refuses it. She often doesn't give very much over jumps either and I think on a horse so sensitive it is not helping.

However, whilst her hands are saying stop, her seat is pushing him forwards all the time with a sort of scooting motion instead of actually sitting in her seat properly. You can see a few strides out her literally firing him at the fences.

Also her legs are pushed forwards and braced against the stirrups. This is not a relaxed leg. Vossi will feel this tension and combined with the hands saying stop and the seat saying zoom must make for a very confused horse.

If her goal is to get round a British Novice BSJA, then I think she needs to go completely back to basics. There is no point trying to jump courses of height when the basics aren't there. Short, fun sessions is all he needs and completely back to something as simple as scatter poles. She needs lots of lunge lessons, probably not even on Vossi but to pay to go somewhere for that, to work on her position so she is as balanced and settled as she can be.

But of course lets post on our story about how the BSJA legal jumping baton is your best friend because that's going to create a horse who trusts you enough that you're going to work up to jumping anything of a good height out showjumping.

Also does anyone know if her Keysoe show was bs affiliated? It is not on Vossi's SJ record, in fact only one elimination from Bury Farm is. He does have imported points on his record though but nothing in this country.

This is the issue though, she starts training with someone, they give her some candid feedback and so she doesn’t have them again. It’s a constant cycle..

Oh yeah I have noticed that too. How many trainers has she had since having Vossi?!? I understand you’re not going to click with every trainer you meet, but it does seem like she’s gone through them. I remember her camp video and she completely disregarded Geoff’s advice. Does she think she knows better? It would be interesting to know the real reason she’s had, and got rid of, so many trainers - and the real reason she’s been at so many livery yards…

She had that one trainer for a little while way back who used to ride him and explain what he was doing and then get Charlotte to do it and he was fab but then she stopped going to him. She doesn’t seem to get on with trainers and I feel like I can guess why but I don’t want to be that kind of person.
if she really wants it to work between the two of them, she needs to start listening to people and putting the work in, or else she is going to have a sour and broken horse.

The training is the real issue for me. I have no doubt that she loves Vossi very much and strives to do her best by him in daily routine, saddle checks, sports massage and all the other things she mentioned. However I strongly believe that one of our responsibilities as owners and riders is to train ourselves to be the best we can for our horses, to understand them and their actions, to bring out the best in them. I’m no pony patter but we have a responsibility to listen to what our horses are trying to tell us, and I’m not sure that ‘being sassy and having an attitude’ is the underlying message here 🤷🏻‍♀️

I looked back for these videos of her trainer riding him etc as I found them really interesting but she’s deleted them 🙄

No I’m pretty sure she did a post about how she was sticking to unaffiliated due to the cost
