The family also bought a medal winning eventer awhile ago for the sister too.
Did they ?? That disgusts me im not saying she isn’t talented because she is a lovely rider but buying an Olympic horse for a junior rider 🤣 have to say I hope he goes sour and doesn’t do well for her.

They need to ride a school master and gain experience to then learn to produce younger horses. Yes, she is privileged but she is also very hard working.

I don’t think Gio was ever going to be any better than he is now and Charlotte knows that so has sold him to a GB young rider to help teach her. Charlotte has a string of up and coming young horses who are flashier and have more potential. At least he is staying in GB and hopefully will win medals for the young rider.

5 million I heard
ive heard 9 and 5, either way, a lot of money and we won’t know. Over a million I reckon but 5? I dunno. he was never going to be a gold medalist in the Olympics, he hasn’t got the movement so to go and teach a young rider is a good job for him and he is still going to live the life of luxury.

I agree, im waiting to hear off one more person who is even closer in the circle, she's poorly so will have to wait for the news because she won't be seeing the inner circle for a bit but I will for sure find out... the figure of 5 has come from a pretty reliable source of mine

That’s mental. I’m sorry she’s a spoiled brat 🤣 I get keeping it in the British team etc but she’s 16 come on 5 million for a horse. Surely the fun and pride is bringing your horse on yourself ans getting there not one that’s push the button and ready to go !

I feel like Charlotte has let herself down slightly - when Gio was up and coming she did all these interviews about how he was the one ! Even after the Olympics it was always “he’s just so young, he needs time to build his strength”. If you go back and look at them it’s a bit of a farce now. Why not just call a spade a spade and say why she’s sold him.

I reckon they approached her they must have done. I mean you couldn’t say no to 5 million you just couldn’t.

At the end of the day CDJ is a professional horsewoman and business woman, money doesn’t grow on trees. She was probably given an offer that she couldn’t say no to. This was probably a head rather than heart decision and she must be gutted about losing the ride.
There are a lot of green eyed monsters on this thread that probably couldn’t ride a proper dressage movement even if they were put on Valegro.

Waow your just delightful ! It’s not being a green eyed monster it’s being realistic and it’s a really sad shocking situation.

I really don’t think she is a spoilt brat. She is a hard working young lady. A** school kid and a talented young rider. She knows she is privileged. The family have the money and if I was in the position of either one of them I would take the opportunity. Gio is going to help Annabella progress and she will then be able to put what she learnt into practise when teaching young horses. You can’t teach a young horse movements when you don’t know how to ride them!
And if I was Charlotte and offered the right amount, I would also take the opportunity. She has a great string of horses and is constantly on the look out for more and Gio was never going to be Valegro. He is a lovely horse and she has done well with him but she has some brilliant horses that she can now focus on whilst also helping and talented young rider.

I don’t think anyone on this thread knows who’s going to be the next Valegro - no offence 😂 I’m not bothered about Pidgley getting the ride, we’d all take a 5m horse if we had the chance let’s be real here and dressage has always been a money sport. I just was a bit disappointed to see CDJ give him up after really bigging him up in interviews. I thought Gio, not unlike Valegro could help to break down barriers about what a dressage horse “should” look like.

especially if on Velgro I think! he would be one powerful huge mover to keep together for the average to even better than average rider imo.
