Did anyone just see blobthecob on BBC breakfast talking about her 100 cats and how hard her life is now 😬😬😬
Batshit. I'm sorry but if they've voluntarily done so and now they're in public media they'll be slated either way and no easy way out.

Just silly

Wonder if Emily/emd eventing thought about naming her latest vlog: 'eff all the Tattle doubters'...but fair play to her. She's got a very talented and precocious younster as a result of the work and mileage she put in. She managed Addies first year beautifully, bravo 👏
She did admit a couple of times she felt she did too much all at once and left the holidays too late on a couple of occasions which is all that was said here. Everyone said Addie was brilliant but were worried she was doing a bit much between breaks. Em said in her vlog she really underestimated how important the breaks were. We are all glad it worked out in the end cos we do want her to succeed.

I would 100% agree with you. I know myself I thought she was doing too much and that Addie needed a break but she continued to do a lot more before she eventually gave her a break. At least Emily admits that and I thought she put that vlog together really well.

just watched Justine wards (Lucy’s coach) opening meet vlog- very good head cam would recommend!

Just seen the clip on Kate’s profile. That’s not rescuing animals, that’s animal hoarding… filling your house with that many cats is not sanitary. They should have built a specialised cattery and kept their house separate… I don’t feel sorry for them selling their stuff and not having things left to sell, don’t take in more animals when you don’t have the space or money (coming from someone who worked and studied animal welfare) 🤦🏼‍♀️

Blobthecob has always come across as an animal hoarder tbh, they’ve got 20-odd horses including loads of minis that she never actually did anything with.
If they can’t cope with the cats then they should get in contact with an actual decent rescue (I.e. Cats Protection) who will help rehome and spay/neuter. Going begging on BBC Breakfast is not the way to fix it 🙄.

Edit: having just watched the clip on her profile I’m now even more annoyed. 30 litter trays is nowhere near enough for 100 cats (you need 1 per cat + at least an extra 1) and they aren’t even allowed outside. I bet that house is honking of cat piss 🤢.

Does she actually re-home any of these cats?

Now we know why Kate doesn't sleep in the house. I feel really really sorry for her.
It's a hoarding situation.

Also they have several pregnant cats. Really they should be performing a spay and removing the kittens as sad as it is.

It doesn’t look like it, I think her mum is the driving force behind the cat ‘rescue’ and she says she’s expecting to go from 100 cats to 200 by the end of November.

Assuming these are semi-feral colonies they should have worked with the farms to do TNR (trap, neuter, release) and that way the numbers of cats would naturally decrease over time.

Inevitably one of the real rescues is going to have to step in to fix this mess when they reach a crisis point. I’m so sick and tired of people setting up ‘rescues’ to justify their hoarding - I can think of at least two horse rescues that fall into this pot as well.

Kate and her family do seem to hoard animals in general. Their hearts in the right place but it's not realistic. I know people got annoyed when her horse Dreamer needed colic surgery and she had a go fund me page. People questioned why she needed all these horses, to then end up with no money left. Personally I didn't care, she wasn't forcing people to donate but I can see why some were miffed.

Kate's new business is meant to go live in the next few days, wonder what that will be.

Jodie Marsh is a prime case of this! Then she gets the begging bowl out yet has money to pay for cosmetic procedures, tattoos and piercings!

I would love to run a rescue (properly) but it’s not financially doable. If you are going to moan about the amount of work you do, having no money and that you can’t afford your animals care, DONT do it.
30 litter trays for over 100 cats is nowhere near enough and they do not have space for another 100… I freaking love animals but for their welfare and mine, I won’t take on any I cannot afford.

I’ve seen her post recently on a local Facebook group about doing a grid work clinic so I wonder if she’s going to be offering some coaching

I could have sworn I’d also seen her posting something about pony parties but I can’t find the post now so I’m doubting myself 😂

That one in wales, can’t remember it’s name though

I’ve said about it before but I just think it’s not sustainable to have 27 odd horses and 100 cats. And sheep and rabbits and whatever else 🥴

the biggest question is why? ok i understand she thinks shes rescuing the cats, but when she bought all the minis, i think there must be at least 7/8? why she hasnt sold them now shes short of money and time, yes they will make her very little money but they will save her time. those minis arent providing anything for her.

There was Whispering Willows in Swansea which was finally shut down and the horses seized. There's another one in roughly the same geographic area as WW which is still going and has mental rules around rehoming - lots of badly-spelled sentimental guff about "keeping families together" which translates to "you have to adopt 5 horses or none at all".

It's another disaster waiting to happen though, to their credit, they've managed to last a good few years longer than I expected.

A rescue wouldn’t have breeding cats? They would be spayed and if pregnant when rescued, kittens are pretty easy to rehome and surely the point of a rescue would be to find homes for the animals that can?

She bred her rabbits too, which I think mostly died as they caught a disease.

She seems to get very attached to them all, minis, horses. So none end up leaving.
