Been having a catch up on some vlogs and watched Justine wards. She seems like a lovely lady

Do of you follow many people who go hunting? I like watching the hat cam footage and pretending to be brave, are there any good accounts- that don't hunt mares that have had a foal three days prior (yes exaggeration, but I'm looking at you Georgie & the Equines)

The latest few from @msgpoloeventing on YouTube have been good. The earlier ones are a bit amateur with bad sound but good footage. Latest couple are good though. Some good vids of him training his youngster to jump hedges and ditches etc. as well.

Anyone seem Matt Harnake's story today on Emporio? The vet check gave them the green light but the video of him walking the straight line with the assistant looks really odd to me. The hind legs look off Matt says it is much better, but I have no idea what the issue was in the first place. Just looks really odd.

I actually think Charlotte has now lost the plot completel. Her stories are just so very odd. Maybe have a break Charlotte. For you own mental health.

also Megan’s stories with “ does your horse know what’s happening when you put a jumping saddle on”. No they don’t megan as most people don’t get this shit for free and therefore only have one saddle per horse. shes gone so past relatable these days.

There's a video on his YouTube about it, I think it's something to do with the SI joint... but I agree he looked very stilted behind in the stories. Emporio is fairly young to be getting joint problems, but then I believe he was in work quite early on in his life.

Recap:

raythegoth got a lameness work up with inconclusive results, saying that Pepper is not lame and can crack on as usual. Most agreed that this wasn't thorough enough and that Pepper needs to be taken to a specialist.

All star Academy was a shit show - it was like watching a BTEC in media production with the added bonus of the contestants gawking at their gifted products, then being booted off in the drama adding, quirky twist of elimination this season

Meg did 12 days of not her horses for vlogmas this year - which overall wasn't too bad, especially seeing as she showed up Ridingwithcharlotte.

Speaking of Charlotte, Vossi is pretty much wasted with her. She can't handle criticism which means getting a good instructor is off the list and Vossi has to suffer as a result. After giving Meg a riding lesson she realised she's not a good rider, but still has the audacity to call Vossi spicy!! Poor Vossi, he needs a more competent rider.

Harlow's Chelsea's business is booming - what with a Harlow stamped clothing range, Harlow stamped helmet, year book, youtube, popcorn toy, the list goes on, and with hundreds of children begging their parents to get this (overpriced) stuff =

...Sponsors, sponsors, sponsors...

And I think that's the main stuff from the previous thread xx

On the back of the comments about "badly behaved" horses on social media. I used to be one of those people who were a "I'm the boss" type. Would think a bucking horse was funny and "cool" to be able to stay on.... But I was young and naive with terrible role models and didn't own my own horses at the time and I quickly learned when I finally did purchase my own horse, who unknowingly to me at the time(again, no vetting!) had a lot of health issues... that none of these behaviours should be happening. With the exception of the odd excitable horse, it shouldn't be. I've gone from being not aware to hyper aware now and I feel like I see so many horses in some kind of discomfort.
A lot of people are naive and not surrounded by the right type of equestrians so they might not know any better. But these types who laugh about these behaviours and the arrogance that comes with it with the whole "tiktok trainers" comments etc is awful. Some people are genuinely only trying to help and you get attacked for it. It's madness

I went and had a nosey at Megs stories She’s such a child isn’t she! Jam knows when she has her jumping saddle on
I wonder if the trouble she is having with Dee is something to do with her arthritis in her hocks? I actually can’t believe she’s still competing her to a level that requires hard fitness and endurance to be honest!

This is it. Once you understand behaviours it become apparent that a lot more horses are in pain than not and many are labelled ‘naughty’ instead of any sort of investigation or changes being attempted. It breaks my heart to see.

How old is Affie? (Nohorsehan) I don’t follow but when she pops up occasionally all I see is her going on about how naughty Affie is, her recent TikTok of Affie kicking doors and cornering her by rearing in the stable just sound dangerous and the more I see her saying how naughty she is the more it seems like she is seriously out of her depth.

I think she’s only 4 or 5? She’s certainly way out of Hans depth but she adores her! They don’t seem a match to me as it looks like the mare is taking full advantage and of her!

I think Han should be commended for her honesty and commitment to Affie. She loves her horse unconditionally. And there must be many many people out there, working with horses that are possibly too much for them, who won’t or can’t give up for whatever reason. She’s acknowledging the issues and seems to be doing her best to work on them, and it will be an interesting journey. And it’s making her a better equestrian. Affie is similar to my mare, and I have a low gentle energy, but with lots of support and clinics and training, I’m starting to be the leader she needs me to be, and it’s been a good journey in self development!

I’d love her to own Dora, I think they seem very sweet together! But, she’s standing by her Affie and good for her!

She clearly loves and cares for Affie that can’t be questioned but it seems like she likes to continuously highlight how naughty she is as if it’s just some cute quirk, maybe I guess horses being naughty get more views on the world of TikTok/social media?

I mean tbf in her recent post she is literally saying how she understands the horse isn’t naughty. So she’s not calling it a naughty quirk as above..

I really think the time and effort she puts into this pony is fantastic. She is very open in saying she is a lot for her but at least she is getting training to help with her. So many people would pass her on so I have to commend her also for sticking with it.

She is such a moron
I agree , why you would continue to work a horse to that level that has Arthritis is beyond me. Glory hunting and the fact that she feels save on Dee as not that confident with new horses or ponies which seem to be her thing.
also controversial point probably for all the Megan fans ( it verges on an odd cult following at times) but she is far too big for Dora and she was bear and Bryni. Uncomfortable to see when she was competing them.

Be prepared as Meg has mentioned when Bear has had her foal and it’s weaned she is going to be bringing her back into work for competition! It’s ridiculous if you ask me! She is definitely too big for Bear and she is smaller than Dora I think. I don’t get the whole Bryni thing, she was always going to be too big for her and they bought her because she has the same sire as Bear and I guess she though she was going to be as talented, poor Bryni has been put in foal and of she has a colt it will be up for sale at weaning! I don’t get the point of it. Imagine if she wasn’t sponsored by pure feed and silver moor, how she would feed all of her horses! LOL!

Agreed. I still find it very odd for someone who has competed since she was very young to a - never moved from ponies to horses ( jam is a horse debate is old. Technically yes but in stature and how it rides it’s a pony. Also when someone is paying her to write a book she’s happy to call it a pony )
b - never got above 100

i am also not saying that everyone has to compete at high levels but she is a driven individual and has enough money from mummy to be able to do it so it’s strange that she constantly sits in her comfort zone.

In all seriousness, how can you think Meg is too big for native ponies? Working off the 15% margin (if a pony weighs about 500kg, which is Google's guess, she can be up to 11st 9 and be within 15%) I bet she is still ok, She's barely going to be over ten stone and the Voltaire saddles are very lightweight.
Besides that she's fit healthy and an effective rider, she's not going to be flumping around all over their backs.
And before you come at me I'm not a mega fan or anything, but I am someone who thinks that's there's no need for bitching about adults on ponies.

I don't think it's a weight issue, she's definitely not too heavy for Bear but she is too big, if you know what I mean. Especially to event. Fine if you are going to hack or do dressage, but to event, it's asking a bit too much.

Han's latest Affie story is very commendable, she is really trying to work on her behaviour and being open and forthright about it. Will be interested to see how it progresses. And the horse is young, in a couple of years she will be much more balanced if they progress how they are lately.
