I know someone well who lost 2 stone with slimming world in 3 months last summer going from a 14 to a 10 and they have several health conditions which leaves them bedbound days on end and one of there conditions makes there metabolism lower than a normal person they are still maintaining their weight loss now. Sorry if that's not people want to hear but a young healthy person like Emma who does all this walking and exercise is more than capable.

It’s not just about the physical ability it’s the mental ability too

I lost 6 stone in 9 months. Doesn’t mean that was healthy or sustainable.

It’s easy if you don’t have food issues. The physical side of easy, but if you can’t tackle the mental side of it it is really hard.

I get that you think it’s easy, but take it from someone who starting therapy over food issues. It’s not when you have internal issues. I have all the physical ability like Emma does.

But she’s having a treat... a fry up from Morrison’s is over 1000 so it’s easily done.

I can’t find the breakfast. I follow thebudgetslimmer and emziielouise accounts, are there more?

yeah but she ‘treats’ herself everyday, then falls off the wagon because she can’t eat within her calories for the rest of the day, beats herself up about it on insta stories might manage a couple of days on plan where she gets carried away that she has found the answer. Inevitably slips up again and then starts a new plan after another load of public self loathing. I have been where Emma is, although I don’t have the additional needs she clearly has - unfortunately nobody is supporting her, suprise suprise the slimming world consultant is taking money off her each week but clearly hasn’t made sure she understands the plan. Realistically to loose weight/give up smoking etc you have to really really deep down want to do it. Emma might say all the right stuff but unfortunately she has two completely conflicting thought processes 1. Needing to loose weight and 2. Food = memory making. These are not compatible together for weight loss. A lot of Instagram dieters seem to think this way and for as long as they do then they won’t see results, it has to be a lifestyle change not a plan which you ditch as soon as you want to go out and socialise. Now I have snapped out of these weight loss plans I actually find it scary how they effect people’s thought processes and even those who keep the weight off are brainwashed years later using language like syns like it’s normal. Intuitive eating is the way forward..... honestly, but you have to be on a good headspace for it to work and unfortunately Instagram is 100% not conducive to creating that for people.

she has a fair few treats every day and then refuses to go to weigh in to face the music. Her whole life is based around what treats she can eat and there is no way that the pancakes will be the last of their treats today and this week.

she needs proper support and help to get her out of this rut she’s in.I do genuinely feel so sorry for her but calorie counting does her no good as she just spends all her calories on crap and sugar and then walks 17k steps to try and offset it.

The girls takes a snack on a 10 minute walk. She is obsessed in a very bad way.

I can’t get over the fact that she says she suffered with eating disorders and anorexia before and got help for it, from a doctor .yet none of her family or friends held her or support her? It’s worrying

That's really worrying that her dad, boyfriend or friends can't see the warning signs. Does she go to group? I wouldn't be surprised if she has no disclosed this to her consultant as they are wary of letting people with a history of ED signing up. She needs to walk away from dieting, get some help and figure out her relationship with food.

Does she think Fitbit calories are bible?
I am a runner I weigh a lot more than her if I run for an hour I am lucky if I burn 400 calories. There is no way I could burn that in 30 mins. I know all calorie monitors are not accurate but fitbit seem crazy out!!

I know it’s so petty but it really annoys me when she calls 10,000 steps “10k.”

No Emma, 10k would be 10 kilometres.

Emma is talking about her one off-plan meal today, 621 calories worth of McDonald’s pancakes. I think she must have forgotten about the chocolate and banana loaf she ate on the way back from her grandparents. She had taken it to their place so as it wasn’t tempting her but they were about to go on holiday and couldn’t take it. Emma ate it.
This girl needs someone to take her in hand and explain about food values and the dangers of too much sugar. She really doesn’t have a clue, god love her.
