Decided to take one for the team and listen to the whole album in all of it's untuned glory so others wouldn't have to. Instant thoughts: unremarkable. I finished listening 2 minutes ago, couldn't point to one good lyric or tell you what any of the songs were about, a complete easy to forget mess. Gonna go bleach my ears.

Just read her thread - Emma, nobody's saying you can't question your sexuality. As a bisexual person I spent so long questioning myself, that's just how it is. Except there's a difference between simple questioning and monetizing your alleged confusion in a desperate bid to cash in on a world of young LGBT+ viewers.
exactly! As a fellow bi myself who took years and years to go from “no I’m straight” to “I’m bicurious” to “maybe…?” to “dammit, I’m an idiot, I’m definitely bi”, I’d have no issue if it’s truly what she claims about her just experimenting and testing stuff out. However, she has used it repeatedly to cash in and gain attention off the community during the height of coming out videos and videos talking about sexuality gaining major popularity on YouTube, just to turn around and go “no I’m actually straight” the second she couldn’t capitalize off it anymore, and now she’s back to saying she’s bi because it’s Bi awareness day. She cannot possibly think everyone is too stupid to see what she’s doing. It was a flat out insult to begin with, and now that she’s trying to imply everyone’s discriminating against her or whatever it now feels like a slap in the face.

When she grew her hair out a while back, I commented how much I loved the shorter hair on her and she replied with a really rude comment. After that, I stopped listening to her music. 😆 I kinda liked her album, but after that I didn't want to support her.

But she's a real musician guys!

Gunna compare her to Dodie, who just released her first album. Love her or loathe her, her YouTube channel is a stark contrast to that of Emma's. Looking at Dodie's, you can see she's focused on the music and has a consistent style/image. Even looking at someone like Leadley (musicalbethan), there are a couple of non-music videos but the channel instantly tells you her focus is music. Emma's channel... is a mess. 30 different styles, a muddle of videos (some cooking, some storytimes, some games, some music, some comedy, some more storytimes, some educational, some gossip/reactions, etc), the occasional music video, no consistency and dwindling views too.

I just seem to remember her once going on about being a proper musician and she's not embarrassed anymore by the YouTube association but she wanted to distance herself from being "a youtuber" first, etc. But you wouldn't get that impression whatsoever, looking at her channel. In fact, the music feels like an afterthought, compared to the amount of other crap on there. Not saying you can't have both, but surely there should be some consistency. She should never have merged all her side channels into one - maybe that's where the fault lies, there's now no distinction between any of her content.

Tbf, why would she be interested in your opinion about her hair? You know, if you don’t have anything nice to say… So in this situation I can understand a snappy reaction.
She didn't have to be rude about it. I mentioned how much the hair suits her under one of her music videos at the time (along with how cool the video is) and I didn't follow her on instagram, therefore I didn't know that she was growing her hair out. Doesn't justify a snappy reaction in my opinion. 🤷‍♀️

If she gave even half as much effort towards her fans as she gave her haters (and stopped pulling excuses out of the air to be rude to her fans whenever she can), she’d have a much better time and be so much happier… but she can’t help herself, and being a bitch is her default setting.

Yeah. I live in Brighton - driving sucks here so I understand that, but surely if you’re promoting a car the first thing you would do is…. Drive it? Surely? Why are you standing against the car, holding a pumpkin? Like what relevance does that have to driving a car?! 😂

Honestly, her being rude to people on her livestreams is what turned me off her in the first place. I remember one summer (2016??? Idk, can’t be assed to look it up) she was doing once-a-week livestreams and more times than not she’d be in an awful mood, so she’d take even the most innocent and supportive comments towards her, twist them into being malicious, and then make “snarky” (read: rude af) replies back, and then she’d get upset when people called her out on her rudeness and start dishing out more of those replies, creating a constant feedback loop that lasted until she ended the livestream. It’s been years and I still have yet to understand or even explain that behavior. She has a fanbase of diehards who support her, and hell even some casual fans remaining, so you’d think she’d be on her best behavior at least when talking directly to them, but nope, gotta pretend the world is out to get her to feed that persecution/victim complex.

Also, checked her Twitter earlier and she got so heated up over someone saying they hope she’s happy with her boyfriend, so looks like she hasn’t changed one bit in all that time.

And on another note it’s been almost a week since she uploaded her two latest videos and she’s nowhere near hitting 10k views on either of them. Cue this post making it into her Gabbie hanna-esc series because I’m talking about her numbers, but fuck. Even if she was the most drama-free YouTuber (which she’s far from being, and she has yet to realize that 80% of the drama at this point is caused by her own damn persecution complex) we’d still be talking about it because those abysmal views for a channel of 1.3 million isn’t just unusual, it’s alarming. This is way past the superficial “numbers game” or whatever the fuck she’s on about. Her channel is deader than dead and she should be concerned instead of chastising people for simply discussing it. I haven’t seen a worse sub-to-views ratio before.
