Peoples thoughts on 'youtube superstar' and apparently the UKs favourite 'comedy vlogger' Emma Blackery? Does anyone still watch her videos?

Not anymore. I got fed up with all the new boyfriend stuff. Also the constant rebranding put me off.

I swear she changes her style every 6 months, I can't keep up 😅 Last time I checked she was going for fashion blogger, now she's gone to 00's emo grunge?

I think she knows shes at the end of the road...the most recent two videos since her come back which just happened to coincide with the latest release of her catterwailings are so weird and infantile it makes you wonder what the name is going on in her head.
She boobed big time splitting with Luke Cutforth, it all fell away for both of them after that. He received crowd funding for a film which has never appeared. That is theft and might be worth investigating what to do about it.
Emma's Dad is such a nice man and a good laugh as is her Mum...

Not many, she’s a bit erratic and goes off on the most insane rambles. She’s never recovered from the split with Luke Cutforth.

Agreed

I know this isn’t “Emma” but her boyfriends dreads bother me A LOT. He doesn’t care for them. Look at his dreads, then compare them to someone like FunforLouis, or VictoriaXRave....it’s shocking really.

Phew got that off my chest 😂

His dreads look like they’re disintegrating! So gross. He generally looks sweaty and grimy though, and is apparently a serial cheater. No idea what Emma sees in him

I started watching Emma right back in her 50 Shades of Grey commentary days, used to like how genuine and different she seemed. These days she just chases fad after fad, blaming her management and insisting that her new phase is the ‘real’ her only to discard it after another couple months. It’s a shame because I still think she’s likeable, she just needs to learn stop changing herself. I think I’ve seen her use the “but it’s normal for people to change!” defence before, which is true but not at the rate of constantly overhauling yourself every few months

Why does she speak in that silly semi American accent? So annoying and pointless.

To be fair to her, she has a borderline personality disorder. So do I, and one of the common symptoms of that disorder is ‘not much or no sense of self’, hence her constant style changes etc.
It’s quite normal for BPD to start to do/say things or act like the people closest to them

Has she confirmed she has BPD? I know she has alluded to it and there’s been a lot of speculation

I empathise with her (I have BPD too) and I know myself it’s not as easy as ‘just stopping it’. It’s a serious mental illness and it’s hard, particularly as people with BPD tend to be self destructive and self sabotaging. But I do think she needs to address her identity issues beyond making passing reference to her phases. The chaotic nature of changing personality and style isn’t helping her. I hope she’s getting professional help that she’s not sharing

I think YouTube fame has worsened her BPD. In the early years she seemed more genuine and consistent, obviously still copying people and changing herself but not as extreme as going from sassy pop princess to edgy rock chick in a matter of months. She seemed to idolise Hayley Williams for ages and work hard to give off the same aesthetic. I do think early YouTube Emma is the ‘real’ Emma or at least the closest, the Hayley Williams style pop punk girl with a crass sense of humour. Obviously people change and it’s been getting close to a decade since she started YouTube, anyone would be different over that time, but that’s when she came across as most genuinely herself in my opinion

She has a tendency to get involved in drama too, which I know can be a BPD symptom too and it’s not always negative - I’m sure at times she’s convinced she’s doing the right thing. But it damages her brand all the same. For the sake of her career she needs to actually work on this, not make a video every few months saying she’s “done with drama” and then proceed to get involved in more tit

Sorry for the long post, as I said I do like Emma and empathise with her on the BPD front, that’s why I want her to do better for herself. I want her to get professional help and heal, judging from her videos and book she already has some of the know-how, she just needs to do it

I know exactly what you mean. Over a year ago she did a Q&A and someone had asked, “how are you coping with your BPD”, (or something along those lines). And I can’t exactly remember what she replied to be honest but it did confirm the fact she does have BPD.

I’m sorry that you have it too. It’s a horrible thing to live with. I know from experience that my style doesn’t change but my hobbies and interests do. I wouldn’t cope with that sort of ‘fame’ tbh. I think she needs to quit youtube and stick to her singing or whatever she wants to do. She seems deeply unhappy to me.

Without help BPD can be extremely dangerous so I do hope she’s getting the help she needs.

Are they even considered dreads at this point? Like if I plait my hair and leave it in all day and sleep like that, by morning it’s so messed up it’s barely a plait. His hair is disgusting. ‘Dreads’ shouldn't be like that!

She's at it again. Her long time friend/enemy Cherry Wallace didn't post anything about JKR's Transphobic tweets, so Emma decided to shame her on twitter. Cherry obviously blocker her at that point (I mean who wouldnt?)

Today Emmas all over Instagram posting about how she was ghosted, and in the comments is ripping into anyone making sense.

She really has become a vile, spiteful hypocrite - she has videos and posts all over twitter from not long ago telling people to ghost anyone who is a bad influence in their life.
