Totally this. And half of what you have said is the issue. It’s not awkward people doing this. It’s ‘normal people’ but it means opening some uncomfortable truths. It’s like when parents of teenage boys say they never check phones when the lads get caught out. Because it means having to talk about things like porn, ideas of sexuality and respect. And I think most parents like to think they have brought teenagers up to respect the opposite sex (not saying they haven’t) but then when that isn’t the case, they have to question why and how that attitude came about.
