Whenever I talk to my British family about politics I say Tories for CDU and Labour for SPD. Obvi they’re not the same and don’t align 100% but when trying to paint a (political) picture I found this works best. Ain’t no one got the time to first have an in-depth explanation of every political party before coming to the actual story.

I like Astrid as well but sometimes she tries so hard to be Cool™ and it's unnecessary. Paige was my favourite but I admit I've lost interest a little since she's graduated from Cambridge. I enjoyed living vicariously through her and actuarial science doesn't spark my interest one bit

I like Elena, I enjoyed her room tours and routines etc before and she seems to have a good head over her shoulders. She can come off patronising sometimes (the gifted child video comes to mind) but overall I like that she doesn't exist for the camera or hasn't sold her soul to the influencer label like Jade unfortunately has.

I also really envy her hair!

Talking about little interest, I’ve never been that interested in Law but, from a layman’s perspective, I find her essays quite nice to read on a Sunday through her newsletter!

That's without living costs - Cambridge is one of the most expensive cities in the UK outside of London. Plus she's very near her family in Tübingen, I think they're in Stuttgart.

Gosh, absolutely! I forgot about this. Elena was already a student and could complete as a Home student prices but definitely a massive difference now!

I like her university journey and aesthetics she presents, plus she's been showing the struggles too. But it has changed somewhat and gone very sparse (one video every other month?). I'm kinda bummed! Plus, I don't think Tübingen will live up to Cambridge in terms of aesthetics. I'm bummed she didn't choose to continue at Cambridge...

To me they are just not comparable at all, but I come from a family of refugees so this aspect isn't just one thing to me, it has a lot of meaning.

Yes, that's what I think too. If he was her boyfriend, she would probably call him that. She would have no reason to just call him her ‘crush’ if they have established that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. I think they are just dating but not officially in a relationship yet?

Brw, does someone know what illness she's been diagnose with? I think it was a couple of weeks ago that she posted on stories that she was going to take a few days off social media to process her diagnose, but I've never got to see what she was exactly referring to and a few days ago in a Q&A she answered that one of the most important things for her was feeling healthy in spite of her health issues.

She's mentioned psoriatic arthritis on her tiktok a while back i think (so i'd assume psoriasis as well?) but not sure whether that's the diagnosis you're talking about? She also has scoliosis

Being Home/International actually isn't judged on your nationality, it's all on residency before you started studying. I have a few friends who were UK Citizens but couldn't qualify for Home Status as their parents had worked abroad... it's pretty cheeky tbh.

Yeah,I still watch her once in a while.She‘s published a book which is unsurprisingly a study guide. Her tik tok is a mix on monthly updates and random stuff.She also showed off her english on tik tok ,where she got a lot of praise from the german community that they love her British accent.

Yes, i saw that too! Definitely interesting how she's seemingly still building that "influencer" brand in German, but also working a "real" grad job at the same time (I think? I'm fairly certain she mentioned it at some point but her content doesn't show it so idk, although I guess she's probably taking time off recovering from her surgery?)

Thank you for the replay. I don't know which illness it might be, I saw long time ago that she said she has arthritis or rheumatism. But this time, I felt it was something quite serious? Mainly because she said she had to process the diagnose and in her q&a she was remarking how important it was for her to feel healthy.
