So i went to the shop today for my weekend essentials and just couldn't bring myself to buy booze. I just kept thinking how tit I will feel in the mornings.

So another weekend of fizzy juice and 0% Heineken it is for me then!

Another 1 beer evening here! Admittedly because there was only one beer to be had, but before last month I would have been straight up to the shop for more! Not doing very well at Dry Feb though 😂

I’ve now not had a drink for over 1/10 of the year! And by the middle of this week it will be 1/9. I find that really satisfying. I know as soon as I’m allowed to socialise with people I’ll probably be straight back on it, but I am loving my current ambivalence towards booze

I’m just finding something so liberating about being awake and bright at 9am on a Saturday, I can’t face a drink!

Now officially haven't drank any booze since New Years. We are getting a lovely dinner from a local restaurant for Valentines next weekend so toying with maybe having some wine or prosecco but will see how I feel then.

I’ve drank in Jan but only on a Friday night, before that I had slipped into drinking a couple of glasses four nights a week. I had some rosè lemonade in a wine glass a couple of nights in the week at first and bought some Nosecco but after a couple of weeks the craving/habit was broken and I feel a lot better for it! Will be keeping up the no week drinking and will share a bottle with my husband on a Friday night.

Also to add...I’ve listened to some good podcasts about giving up the booze, interesting if sober curious or stopping all together.

Janey Lee Grace - Alcohol Free Life
Happy Place episode with Catherine Gray
Women’s Hour - episode with Susannah Constantine

@theghosttown good luck starting your new job tomorrow ❤
Oh my goodness thank you so much for remembering!!!! I am so excited!!!

I haven’t had any notifications for this post for some reason so I thought it had died!!! I’m going to catch up now xx

Just caught up! Realised it was a dry feb thread. Ah well done everyone for doing so well. I have fallen off the waggon. I drank twice in the whole of January but I just can’t resist the lure of a boozey Saturday. That being said usually my husband and I go crazy on a Saturday night and have our own party, two bottle or cava plus beers for me normally. This Saturday I had a bottle of wine and 2 g&ts which was over the space of about 6 hours and I honestly enjoyed it so much. It felt so much more sociable than getting as hammered as possibly could. I could’ve stopped after the wine but I ended up having a FaceTime with my friend and we had a couple of drinks ‘together’. Definitely will be drinking every Saturday BUT in a far more sensible way to what I normally do.

I had a drink on my husband birthday, I’m going to have it on the 14th and on my Birthday too. so that’s going to add up to 3 days in Feb, which will be fab ( if I stick to it). @theghosttown, I really-really enjoyed it too 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Heading into another weekend! What's everyone's drinking plan?

I feel like I would like a drink this weekend but so worried about feeling tit. I have a zoom quiz tonight with friends which normally gets quite boozy but I may try and abstain but enjoy a little tipple on Saturday night as we may do some 'valentines' stuff at home (as much as you can with 2 kids!).

My husband said to me last week that I was one of those people who "didn't need a drink to be fun. You have never been a big drinker but always so much fun regardless" so that geared me on to think maybe I can be pretty much teetotal.

Me and kids go to M&S food every friday for some treats so I may 'treat' myself to a Nosecco. Randomly Prosecco is the booze I miss the most even though it makes me feel the most hungover!

Definitely get some Nosecco, having one of those in a nice flute is a great replacement and you feel like you’re having some fizz. I’ve got some for this weekend.

My son is with his dad from tomorrow for a few days (first break I’ve had since sept) so I may celebrate with a glass or two of something but then I’m also chuffed I’ve not had a drink since NYE so I’m conflicted!

I’m literally on the cordial and Pepsi max. Mind I’ve noticed I’ve gone to drinking diet pops a lot more now, as I was trying to cut down. I’m happy I’m still drink free - 6 weeks total now!
But yeah I need to start getting more water flavours in to curb the pop!!!!

I’m still in the no boozing camp! I’m not really fussed about having a replacement but will have a fizzy water if I do.

I really fancy a wine but continued weight loss is spurring me on. It’s definitely slowed after a big January loss of 18lbs but I’m down 22lbs since Christmas and fitting in clothes I last wore in 2019 is more satisfying than a glass of wine:)

I’m still not drinking 😊
I have no desire to drink at all, which is weird but I’m not complaining! My mental health is so much better and I’m slowly pulling myself out of the unmotivated state I’ve been in and going to get back into running again.

Today’s the first day I’ve thought “oooh. I would quite like a drink” - fleeting thought and not like a crave, but interesting that it’s honestly taken this long to happen 😂

Well done for still going. I drank on Friday night. A lot. And I am still suffering. I notice that my hangovers getting worse as I get older. And worst of all, this weird sense of guilt and anxiety in the morning like I did something terrible the night before 🤦🏻‍♀️.

It's called Hangxiety.

My husband got drunk on Friday and still feels tit. He has basically laid on the sofa in a depressive state all weekend.
