Failed at lent. I’ve had 2 drinks on 3 days in feb so far this year. I felt really guilty but then thought hang on you’ve still done 51 sober days so far and that’s such an improvement to last year.

Doing okay thank you 💕 day 8 of Lent. No cravings yet. Been enjoying early starts and early nights with my book. Teenage me would think I lead the most boring life ever 🤣 spoke to my boss today and we are thinking I will return to work mid April if the plan to lift the restrictions stays as it is, so feel like I have that to focus on now. Went back to work off furlough a drunken fat slob last time, don’t want a repeat 😂

51 days is amazing!! You’ve done brilliantly! Don’t feel guilty, life’s too short. I’ve had 4 drinking days in Feb and intending to have another 1 on Saturday...coz it’my birthday, It's my birthday , I'mma spend my money 😂 ( with nowhere to go)
But! I’m back on it in March. Apart from the mothers’ day 🤣

You guys are killing it! Hope you’re all ok ❤ I have had 2 days per week since Feb where I’ve had 1 small beer, and 2 days since dry jan where I went frankly, a bit silly. That’s still ridiculous for me, so I’m happy with that!

Tell you what, the 2 hangovers I’ve had this year can gtfo, talk about wasted days 😂❤😭😭

Thanks all and well done on your successes too!
Happy birthday for sat @Pinkpen 84 🥳

I didn’t even think I’d manage dry jan to be fair so to do the majority of Feb is great.

will try and just keep it to a weekend a month if I can going forward but no pressure.

Still trucking on here. Missing the crisps I gave up for lent more than the booze that has been gone since New Years to be honest. Fruit just is not as fun as pringles

I don’t know why but last Friday I had a bottle of wine. I felt utterly miserable the next day and now realise I really don’t like it! It makes me more anxious and agitated and I no longer enjoy the taste. So I have steered clear since and today I got up and completed my first run of 2021 and pottered about doing housework the rest of the day. I’m in bed after a milky drink and hoping I sleep soon as I want to go out for a run again tomorrow.

I just want to say thank you to who created this thread back in December. I can say that I completely stop drinking and have no intentions to go back where I was drinking wise.

I’ve just repeated the drinking risk quiz on the try dry app and I’ve gone from 8/12 in Jan to 4/12 now chuffed with that. I had a couple of drinks in Feb but that’s it so far. If I can carry on with say 2-3 days in a month I drink rather than the 2-3 a week I was before then I’ll be happy with that.

I hadn’t thought of doing that, thanks for the idea! I am also down to 4/12 from 7/12.

I am a little bit nervous that a lot of socialising when England is allowed to open up will revolve around drinking but pre-pandemic I never used to drink in the house if I didn’t have guests so when I do break my streak I’m going to bring that rule back.

I’m definitely feeling anxious for when everything’s open as it will be most likely surrounded around booze socially and food.

I think what I’m taken from lockdown and form being drink free (completely at the mo) is going out when I want to. If it’s around people I want to be around. I think I’ll be similar to those who have said maybe a few times in the month but not all the time.

it’s also the judgement (unsure if that’s the best word to use) from others like from if and when you turn down invites to stuff. Although I try to be a don’t give a tit what you think person most the time I do think they’ll be people who comment to those who might not want to jump back in the deep end of wanting to be out partying etc etc.

Another thing I’m worried about for me personally is the weight gain. I never realised how Much Weight I was gaining from booze. And I think I’m managing to keep it off at the moment due to not drinking alcohol.

Hi guys... I’m absolutely destroyed after my Birthday drinks last night. And although I’ve enjoyed them very much, today I’m definitely paying the price. Hangover from hell 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’m going dry this March. Can someone create new thread, please? 💙❤
