I thought it was just me who didn't like her Irish, but could never figure out why. I'm also from Munster! I think it's great she makes an effort to speak it with her kids but it always sounds very rough or something to me. And I'm not an Irish snob at all, is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste after all 😉
It reminds me of the Irish listening tests we did in the LC. You’d always get the really strong regional accents, just to f**k up your chances even more 😂😂😂

The irony of her posts on negative thoughts.
Does she not realise how negative she comes across on a regular basis. Everything from issues she's had with previous colleagues/management, her attitude to travel during a pandemic, her attitude when people question on why she's not self isolating while at home, her comments on The Claire Byrne show, her issues with that other doctor O Leary I think?
She's actually quiet judgemental herself and seems to have become more so since taking the job in the UK.
I wonder if this ramming down our necks what she's doing is unintentionally compensating for any concerns she has about living apart from such young children for quiet a lengthy bit of time.
I respect her decision but I think it's fair to say it's not one most mothers would ever choose regardless of the future payoff.

Personally PERSONALLY (don’t kill me!) I could never leave a baby as young as her little girl is. Whatever about at the boys ages. That first year or 2 is worth more than any career development for me anyway. It’s a time in their life you will never get back. Especially during the pandemic when they probably don’t have much else to keep them occupied they probably feel it more her being away. She could always have done her training 2 years down the line.

I wonder how often an opportunity to even apply for that fellowship (if that’s what it’s called) comes up though?

Admittedly I don’t know that answer to that but it seems her friend also did it so it couldn’t be too rare.

they would take people on every year I imagine. Anyways- what’s more precious, your baby or a specific fellowship? Plenty more fellowships in the sea and definitely plenty more that would be more useful for someone planning on working in Ireland where we do not have that air ambulance service.

This is her last year of training in emergency medicine. They are allowed to specialise in an area of their choice for their last year so I’d imagine this was her only opportunity to do something like this.

couldn’t agree more. I was offended when she said that you don’t bring the fact that you’re a Mammy to work. So joe or whoever could boast about his love of rugby and the fact that he plays for his local club but a female must hide the dirty secret that she has kids?! That’s not feminism, that’s anti- feminism. She also said she worked alongside people in the UK for 4 months before they realised That she had kids (not to mention a young toddler) back home in Ireland. If I was her child hearing that I’d be so hurt. You’d need to be so callous to be proud of that!

I really don’t think that behaviour sets a good or realistic example for female doctors who want to have kids coming along behind her. She disappoints me more and more each day.

also- what sort of chemical imbalance allows a grown ass woman to be into blaring that trashy music?! And a different song for every photo? She comes across as such a dope!!!

Deferrals and career breaks are acceptable and the emergency dept in Ireland would have been delighted to keep her this year especially with the staff shortages due to the pandemic.

I wasn’t throwing shade at your post, btw. It was merely me thinking aloud.
Oh I get that completely l, I didn’t think you were. But like most things in life there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’d be very surprised if there was no way for her to postpone this phase of her training for a period. Like what if she was unexpectedly pregnant or ill when she was supposed to be doing it. It’s definitely a choice I wouldn’t make as a mom. The crying I did when I had to go back to work from maternity leave and I was going to be home every evening 😂 I know I couldn’t cope with it.

I literally have this thought.. Every mum has the right to make any life choice she deems best for her and her family, but no amount of money or opportunity could seperate me from my children at such a young age...

I've never heard her mention either on how tough it must be on Bernard.
I'm assuming he can have support of his/her family while lisa is away and technically he's a single adult household but it must be tough going home schooling and minding 3 young children alone while dealing with the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis too.
I don't know if he still works or does order me Malta during lockdown but it he really has been left with a lot to deal with.
When I see men choosing to do similar to further their careers I will admit to thinking they're very selfish and are basically checking out of the tough years of parenthood while the other parents picks up the slack. Of course that parent usually benefits from better relationships with the kids.
I'm referring specifically to those who choose to work away from home not those who have no choice.

She’s not done having kids either. For someone that doesn’t wanna tell people she has them

I thought Bernard had a vasectomy last year? He's most likely on strong treatment for the arthritis and conceiving a child would not be an option.
I felt sorry for him when he went for it if I'm honest. I know it's usually much easier for men to be sterilised rather than women but he'd already had weight loss surgery, developed quiet severe rheumatoid arthritis and it seemed unfair that he was taking another hit. I know usually men recover quickly but he was unwell besides and personally as a healthy female I would've taken that one or had a coil inserted.

Maybe I got it wrong though and the vasectomy story wasn't actually about Bernard.

I just had a quick look at that story, she says it's not about their house so I got that wrong, apologies.
I'm struck by how different she was then to now, much lighter in herself and less serious about everything.

Oh she’s made it very clear she wants around 6 children. She wanted one straight after feile. But got the opportunity for Essex. Baby making will resume ASAP

I'm tending to agree with other posters, as a mother the hardest nights I've ever put in were any I've spent away from my babies. I have a nearly 2 year old and she's attached to me, I also wouldn't leave my husband to be a single parent to our children, he's a much better co pilot, and so am I

Anyone reckon she is home in mayo at the moment? Hasn’t shown her face In a Couple of days now, only text stories, and was giving out about people questioning air ambulance services in Ireland but only put up a text story about it, didn’t come on?

She’s definitely home she’s gone a month - anyone giving her sainthood or free pass, her silence speaks volumes. I actually think her account is too much. Maybe bcos I’m not in the medical field I don’t get all the tutorials on stuff to make her show off her intelligence

I missed whatever people were saying about the air ambulance, did you see what was said? She seemed fairly pissed off anyway, gave us all a mini lecture 🙄
