Used to love DS back in the day it but I can’t be arsed with all the woke shit. It just sucks the joy out of everything. Student politics has always been laughable but now we aren’t even allowed to laugh at them.

Hiya everyone :) I have the same username over there. Spent too many years on the BB threads but didn't post that much - more of a lurker as I couldn't be bothered with all the aggro.
I did get quite heavily involved with the Steph Davis threads though as I couldn't believe how much she was getting away with!

I've no idea why I still bother posting/reading DS, force of habit I suppose. So many cretins and incels; special shout outs to zx50 (who once said if he had a girlfriend/wife and she annoyed him, he would hit her) and Jason (formerly Jason Watkins) who gets his burberry Y fronts in a big old tangle if anyone dares to diss Helen Flanagan or Kelly Brook.

I hate how you don’t know who the mods are. It’s a bit sinister really isn’t it? Like a secret society where no one knows what’s going on. I remember one time years ago now something went wrong with the forum and a different forum appeared that was obviously meant for the mods use only, everyone who was on DS at that time saw it and a thread was started in GD about it. Obviously that thread was then deleted, but clearly they have their own community where they talk about things. Probably other members. Why is it all so secretive?

I was on DS for a few years but wasn't a prolific poster which is an excuse for some of the usual suspects on DS to have a go for some unfathomable reason. I was warned for disagreeing with a well known poster who was being very insulting to "gammons" and thought she was hilarious until I insulted her and she threw her toys out of the pram. I've been having a look at some posts on the cesspit that is the Politics forum and was following a poster who had a different viewpoint to the majority and I knew that she'd be gone soon. There was the usual pile-on of the school bullies and sure enough, this morning, she's banned. It's as clear as the nose on your face what's going on in the echo chamber, but I can't understand why any posters would only want agreement and back pats on a discussion forum. They're a set of sad gits.

They are always asking where brexit supporters have gone - well the simple answer is they have ganged up and hounded them off.
Yep I read it but don't contribute: it's clear that if you don't hold the accepted viewpoint you'll have your intelligence questioned, called a gammon, and every other unimaginative insult that they have in their repertoire. Why would people bother engaging with them; life's too short!
Unfortunately I suspect that this reasserts to most of them that they must be "right" and that the other people have left because somehow they've been 'beaten' by their moral and intellectual superiority.
Not much of a discussion forum anymore is it!

I used to post on the soaps forum and had the same experience after I took pity on a poster that was being picked on. She kept messaging me hoping I would back her up.

I gave up on there as everyone used to take it all too seriously. The EE thread here isn't very active but at least nobody seems to be over invested or moralistic about everything. It's definitely more light hearted 😄
Mine was a bloke use bemoan about his life, I think he had a drink problem.

Yes some of the post was very off putting and strange, I swear some members had more then one account too.

The problem with DS moderation, is that it's faceless.

On other forums, the Moderators normally engage with other members of that forum. So everybody then knows who is in charge.

Yeah it gets crazy in there. I can't stand all that "I've brought pink gin and home made vegan brownies " Oh fuck off and get a life, you're stuck in a high rise dump with 6 cats and a rusty 1960's oven and Mary Berry you ain't. Fantasists and nutters. Ovaries pinging all over the threads when a handsome bloke comes on screen.
That sort of reminds of the the Escape of the Chateau DIY Facebook group. Dick and Angel are treated like Gods there, you can’t say anything negative and they are all mental. One time Dick cooked something with an egg coddler and everyone went and bought one. There were about 50 posts a day about damn egg coddlers.
Which is a shame because it was really nice chatting to the chateau owners from the series because they are in there but the rabid fans put me off.

It was basically baggage being dragged over from the the "Simon Hate" thread mentioned a couple of pages back, and the Classic Corrie thread where someone complained about too much talking about biscuits or something.

Daisydee made a light reference to the Simon thread and a user (I think called Angel something) kicked off and just started attacking her for it, even telling her to f**k off in one post. It was clear that some beef had gone down between them as Angel just carried on having a go all afternoon. Everyone else (apart from Korner Kabin, who stuck up for themselves after Angel started on them) just stayed out of. I think it's unfair that Daisy got banned because she wasn't really reacting to Angel's posts but hey-ho, that's DS moderation for you.
It seems so unfair that the person who started it all and was the one dishing out the insults isn't banned.

That thread is quite cliquey, they always talk about their online delivery orders and what crisps they are eating today.

I hate it when there's been a kick off and the posts have been deleted because I'm nosy and like to see what I've missed!

i used to enjoy Sulla's posts too and he was never abusive. The loonies managed to get rid of him though.
He had the nerve to be an older white Christian dude and I don't any other group is as hated as that on DS, or wasn't until Leave voters became a thing.

Whedonite seems to be a 24/7 antagonistic wanker too. Whatever gets them through the day, I suppose. Keeps them from causing problems in the outside world 😮

I have been on DS for years but never dared to post. Like the Strictly live thread as they notice stuff that completely passes me by. But no point in saying anything that goes against the general mood. I also stick with the ratings thread just for the viewing figures but the amount of nastiness upon there is unbelievable. However I have DS to thank as someone posted on there that they had been banned by Tattle and regretted it so I immediately googled and found my new home.

BanglaTurd! Love it. Tony Mahoney was an Olympic level baiter and WUM. He vanished shortly after I got my permaban. Perhaps he figured 'job done'. 😅
Tony suddenly stopped posting, quite strange really, they now have their sights on the likes of Martin & CC imo.
Bangla is a nasty piece of work

Although this forum isn't as busy I find this to be a much better forum than DS.

I've been checking out numerous threads and it's just a much nicer place as I haven't noticed and cliques and nobody constantly snipes at you plus it seems to allow a lot different discussion.

Definitely won't be going back to that hell hole anytime soon

I’ve seen posts on Politics full of self-congratulation and condescending “funny how no Tories/Brexiters/Gammoners don’t show up here anymore to defend their views”. Erm, yeah, because you got them all banned, that’s why.
