Here is a perfect example of the method of attack on the politics forum.... poor chap who even voted remain chucks in a tiny bit of criticism for the way remainers have behaved.... and watch them round on him like a pack of wolves. They even flagged him to the mods in the thread. Surprised the poor bloke hasn’t been banned yet.... 😲

What a vile horrible place that is.

My word that Straker comes across as a colossal self righteous shit brick.

The soaps forum used to be a laugh but it's ridiculously clique now. Your posts are ignored completely if you're not one of the 'known' posters and your face doesn't fit. If you do have a point - one of them will repost your post in their words after or in another thread and then all the little cling-ons will reply to it there.
Oh that used to happen to me all the time on the EE threads, it's one of the reasons I stopped posting. The main reason I left is because they all moralise too much and don't seem to see it as entertainment. They moan endlessly that a villain hasn't had their come uppance. That used to drive me mad.

They're such a dull bunch of saddos on there it felt like groundhog day as the same boring opinions kept being trotted out:

- The producers should be sacked
- Xxx has been ruined due to current plotline
- Gay couples endlessly shipped even if terrible together like Ben an Callum
- It's really unrealistic and not true to life 🙄
- Phil Mitchell (my favourite) should be killed off or go to prison (yawn fucking yawn)
- EE hates the middle classes because they are always villains
- There's not enough people from different minority groups
- Kim Medcalf should come back as Sam to save the show or some other character from the past 🙄 yawn yawn yawn 😴

The tedious shit posted on there nearly did my head in. I can guarantee that the same shit will continue to be reposted endlessly.

Several of the filthier posts have been deleted though one of the milder ones was quoted and has been left in despite the original being deleted. https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2398178/eastenders-martin-fowler
I think that the majority posting on there now are gay men which is why they are very cliquey

Several of us have had the same experience. I think the problem may be that some of the sneering, vitriolic posters are mods themselves. Even appealing to the CEO of Hearst hasn’t worked, probably because they discus the appeal with those very mods. Eventually they might all drown in the vile, acidic broth that is the the politics forum! It used to be a very interesting forum where different views were respected, but if you don’t support Labour, and you voted leave, then you become the devil incarnate!
Eventually they will all disappear up their own backsides. An echo chamber ends in ever decreasing circles.:p

So funny reading this thread. I'm a long time DS lurker and tbh, when I do post it's a quick short snipe, and fun to see them bite. I absolutely cannot stand Macca and Walterwhite. Sure I've mentioned this before. They are absolute trolls.
Jason seems to have nothing in his life but DS. His tales of never ever being able to get a woman, and yet he's ok with that...are so boring, he brings it up in just about every other post he makes...yawn.
Tanya is a pure fantasist, how she gets away posting the shyte she does, who knows?
I miss DAN. He posted pure wind up threads, they were funny. Obviously too much for the strict regime of DS tho....

I've talked to 'support' on several occasions and either the same person got back to me or they employ what I believe are young people to be mods judging by how they compile a reply; young or old matters not but I think they moderate based on their personal views. When I got into trouble for giving my opinion on Harry and Megain and for posting links I was told I was 'leaving digital spy open to possible litigation bought on by the Royal Couple'.

So much we can't talk about, can't voice an opinion on these days, we are slowly but surely loosing our freedom of speech.

Join the long list of DS refugees Redvers.

One thing I've found here is if you disagree with someone or post a different view, you're not met with a torrent of abuse and called 'scum' or 'racist' every 5 minutes.
This forum is much more civilised, posters do have a few disagreements but it doesn't turn into world war3.

The worst are people like Frank Debrin, carl.waring (so shockingly rude I can't believe he's not been banned), the_don1, bollywood, and unique. Don't even bother trying to converse with them, just shove them on ignore. It will save some massive headaches. It's mind blowing to me how certain posters can break the rules 100 times over and nothing, but you can get banned for saying "I agree" to someone's politely expressed opinion in a debate about transgender issues.
I've had run ins with a couple of those you mention, just bully boys/barrack room lawyers and they back off when you stand your ground and don't cower away. I am very surprised how they are allowed to make very personal attacks on other members given personal attacks are a supposed no no over there.

I came here thanks to Digital Spy - in fact it was to have a nosey to see what the true story about Philip Schofield's coming out was, as I felt it was very insincere and something was "off" - I get that PS is a control freak, but I suspect that runs much deeper.

I'm a member from years ago, but can't even remember the last time I logged in or posted. But even from that quick browse, I got the feeling DS was now very strictly moderated (must be to do with being owned by Hearst?). Someone on that thread mentioned Tattle for the real lowdown, (I saw it probably before it got deleted) and here I am.

HUKD (which I DO post on) also attracts the same criticisms in recent years - stricter moderation (I don't always agree with it, but generally it's not bad - though I don't like petty editing of just-submitted posts - gives mods something to do, I suppose). It does attract random trolls but sometimes people surprise you with a supportive PM or just stick up for you out the blue.

My mindset on HUKD is just to share deals and info, I'm not interested in being bitchy.

I tried to chat on Misc a few times, but found it really nasty. A few of the worst have been banned but I always though deeky was alright - what happened there?

Of course, being a long-term member anywhere means you eventually trip over eejits. I commented on a shoe thread and someone (male, I assume) sent an unsolicited PM. I'd said something flippant about a pair of shoes for Xmas Day, that I wasn't sure of the sizing.

I don't PM to "chat" - it's not my style and I'm not super-sociable in real life anyway - so I just humoured the person to be friendly. Mistake.

The PMs were jokey at first (he commented on me being blonde and wearing heels, when I replied mine comes out a bottle)...nothing flirty whatsoever. Then it turned into "make sure you send me some photos of you at Xmas"...er...no? I told him off and asked him to be more careful how he messaged female members in future. A week or two later I see him posting on a thread about his family life and his girlfriend.

Another that attracted an unsolicited PM was on a bra thread - I said I'd been putting on weight lately and had no idea what size I was these days. Btw, there were, for once, actually some women chatting on that thread.

Unfortunately, HUKD threads about women's underwear seem to attract schoolboys who think it's cool to post zoomed in body parts of the underwear models - and tend to be generally 99% male comments. As a woman reading, it looks, at best, immature, at worst, creepy and unwelcoming. Of course they see it as "banter". Threads about mens' boxer shorts or similar have very few, or no, comments from women.

Suppose this happens when you have a female username on the internet - but I (mostly) love posting on there, that's why I've stayed.

And I LOVE Tattle, some of the comments on here cheer me right up, and it's great you can actually swear, like an adult!

James2001 should get an award for “Most condescending, left wing and vile forum member”.... he seems to be on dozens of forums and quite frankly I try and avoid him as he’s got nothing nice to say about you unless you agree with him.

Lucy Van Pelt is knocking about on here. See posts #806 and #784.
She put me on ignore before I was banned from DS so probably did the same here. Definitely the type who can dish out criticism but as soon anything negative comes her way she hides behind mods. Sad

What I like about this forum is that you can voice your opinions without being relentlessly attacked as we are not allowed to moderate each other on here. That way you can have a discussion and respectfully disagree but you can't just attack other posters with endless crap like 'prove it' and 'you are a hater'.

I also like that you can swear as much as you want on here 😁

That’s what I have an issue with. Obviously all forums need moderation otherwise it would be a free for all, it’s the faceless aspect of it. Why the secrecy? And more to the point how do you even get chosen to be a mod there?

The BB forum drew me in, I LOVED BB. I really enjoyed DS, it was my go to forum on days off from work. Not now though, it's lost the plot.

Yeah, they had a thing about a Coronation Street actors ‘not clapping’ when Eastenders won any awards.

There was a poster called ‘Monalisa’ who was/is an obsessive Eastenders troll and borderline stalker of the cast, who was banned for posting threatening remarks about one of the producers when the show was going through a rough patch, it was really serious and the BBC actually got involved. DS pinned a notice at the top of the forum warning people about what they say. Then when the forum revamped last year, there was a ban amnesty and she was allowed back! Total nightmare and very unwell mentally in my opinion. But there you go, ours is not to reason why I suppose.
Oh god yes, she was absolutely crazy!

You could not disagree with her posts or you'd get rambling long essays about why you were wrong and why Shirley and Phil were meant to be forever and ever and ever and ever and ever!

The soaps forum used to be a laugh but it's ridiculously clique now. Your posts are ignored completely if you're not one of the 'known' posters and your face doesn't fit. The only decent thread now in there IMO is the Holby one!

LBC thread is awful now, seem to want most of the presenters fired. Not many left on there who post now, most have been hounded off if they have a different view to the few who seem to run the thread.
Yep any mention of the Nick Ferrari breakfast show sends them into a tail spin ''gammon, gammon, gammon'' I just think to myself grow up.

I have to say, some aspects of Twitter is going the same way. But DS in particular really is the one of the most undemocratic, hypocritical sites out there. They bang about freedom-of-speech, but only when it suits their myopic virtue signalling narrative!
Agreed. I'd suggest Twitter is actually even worse than Digital Spy.

I consider myself liberal or at least left-leaning but I find the way big sections of the left have embraced censorship and seem to genuinely believe people having different points of view is a harmful thing so confounding it has kept me up at night sometimes.

It shows up the moderation, that’s for sure. Not only does she have free reign as a new poster, she has also successfully had long term posters put on bans, albeit temporary ones. Her posts are annoying, she is annoying, but she’s also running rings around pretty much everyone there and I can’t help but find it a little bit funny 😄
Well just so long as she/he stays over there and doesn't venture over here I couldn't care less

Another DS refugee here. Have to thank them though for directing me here following the PS thread deleting posts. I still go on the soaps thread occasionally but it seems to be getting more cliquey of late. I don't understand their in jokes.
