Yep it sure is interesting, I see I’m not the only person to have an altercation with that BanglaRoad weirdo.

He and his friends basically targeted me because I’m Asian and they hated the fact I don’t feel like a persecuted victim, nor am I poor, uneducated, ugly, desperate, nor do I need rescuing from fake woke superheros, nor any of the piss poor stereotypes they have of British Asian people. They also hated the fact I have a white husband (I used my wedding pic for about two years before I removed it yesterday).

They got me a two week ban cos I’m apparently very racist, yet they still continued racist comments towards me afterwards in other threads. The mods obviously agreed with them.

No minorities welcome on DS, unless one hates oneself and is a loser.

Hi, I'm new here.

I'm still on DS. Although I must say I am happy that long overdue changes are now happening on the site.

The Politics forum was an absolute cesspit of over inflated, one sided opinions.

A large number who seem to be shouting the loudest over 'nasty Hearst' closing down the Politics forum, are indeed guilty of helping pushing it to its demise.

However, as those FM's are so far up themselves in their own opinions and beliefs, they'll never admit to this.

Those that claim the Poltics forum wasn't an issue, are part of the problem. When you are part of the problem, you don't see a problem.

Those of us who didn't get involved with the crap on the politics forum, could quite clearly see there was a problem.

To the FMs on DS moaning about posts they have seen about themselves on here.

You are more than happy to dish out the abuse, nastiness, name calling and harassment to others. Although you don't like it when it happens to you, and like to play the victim when it does happen.

If you don't like it happening to you, don't dish it out in the first place!

I know I'm stating the obvious but one of the things I really dislike about some DS Forum threads (R.I.P.) is that there are definite 'in' groups and heaven forbid if you say anything that even slightly challenges the prevailing narrative. I'm someone who thinks in 'grey' and can often see different sides of an issue, which can make me seem a bit flaky or indecisive. That's the downside but at least, after 16 years there, I have the cajones to admit if I'm shown to be wrong or unreasonable about something. Some FMs over there would only apologize or 'own' their mistakes under pain of death. FFS, it's a written exchange with relative strangers. Is your precious ego going to totally collapse if you- gasp- admit you're wrong about something or someone? I'll hold my own if I can back up what I'm saying but know when to walk away and chill when on a hiding to nothing rather than doggedly clinging to the last melting icicle.

Seems more even-paced here but, as a newbie, just feeling my way around atm, having lurked for many months.

You've hit the nail on the head there. The problem with DS, social media and - increasingly - society in general, is that everything is seen as either black or white, right or wrong, good or evil - with nothing in between. You're either on their side or you're (insert insult of choice here).

People are so desperate to jump on the latest bandwagon and be on the 'right' side of the argument that they simply aren't capable of thinking for themselves anymore. And the mainstream media serves only to pour petrol on the fire these days. Look at the selective way they report the 'news' and how they relentlessly portray politicians, institutions and people in the public eye as either 'good' or 'bad'.

We're breeding a generation of imbeciles and I really do fear for the future.

I may be risking getting a pasting here by saying this but wouldn’t it be better just to ignore what’s going on in other forums and just focus on making this forum a happy place. Otherwise those who want to disrupt things and bait to generate friction will be achieving their goal.

I see James2001 is snivelling on there that his beloved DS Forum sub-sections had been pulled so fast…. I simply had to reply to him and tell him how it is as we’d locked horns in Politics before one of the woke brigade had me banned in 2018…

To be honest, I don’t care if I’m banned on TVF for saying it either as it’s closing next week anyway.

Have to say I feel a bit sorry for Occy. He has depression and anxiety problems. He gets a lot of hate but is pretty inoffensive from what I’ve seen. He just starts lots of random threads.

Interesting rumour doing the rounds. Hearst has been listed in the legal case a group of Whistleblowers are bringing against Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party. If so this could relate entirely to the big EHRC thread in politics where people like Andykn, Sangreal, Brian_Grahams, Hisdogspot etc spent a lot of time posting all kinds of libel material in regards to said whistleblowers.

Corbyn supporters killed DS as we know it.

The best day on DS must have been Brexit vote day even at 10pm the usuals were declaring they had won and we were staying in the EU the next day was DS gold in the politics forum also that the last election would be a hung parliament and Corbyn would team up with Nicola and rule the country.

Does anyone remember the thread where the lefties were counting the number of people dying so that the EU vote would be no longer valid and working out that everytime an old person died a young person would automatically Labour voters and no one changes their mind as they get older anymore.

What I find laughable is some DS members moaning on DS about seeing their names appear in this very thread.

Apparently people on here have nothing better to do with their time.

What they fail to mention is the numerous times they have done the exact same thing on DS. They've seen no issues with whinging, baiting, trolling, harassing and name calling others. They are happy to do so then, however they don't like it when the boot is on the other foot.

Oh come on it was a broad brush and part hyperbole. Not all right wingers are baby eating axe murderers and not all gay men are socialist worker salesmen.

Seems presented as a fairly straight forward statement of fact to me. Doesn’t leave much wriggle room.

But anyhow I would like to use the same broad brush strokes that you have availed yourself of. And I would also like to exercise my right to jump straight to the Nazi’s whilst ignoring the 1000s of shades of grey in between because these are the tactics used by the DS crazies.

Now the thing with the Nazi’s was that before they came to power they were already highly censorious. They regularly used to blockade media outlets they didn’t like, smashing presses, encouraging their supporters to boycott and buy “reliable alternatives”. Intimidation, misinformation, outright violence. Maybe if you didn’t take the knee to recognise unification day they would photograph name and shame and get supporters to harass you. They would occasionally dig into opponents past to find things long hidden in order to silence and ruin them. If a new news outlet was to open and the Nazi’s didn’tlike the sound of it they would rail against it like a demented Tasmanian Devil and demand it’s closure even before it had published a single word. Fuck it. If the Nazi’s were around today they would be the absolute masters of social media.

Now 90 years on I know exactly which group of people that sounds like. Are you absolutely sure that “the right” are the one’s we should be worried about here?

Welcome to all the DS refugees.

It's heartening to know more people than I thought have had enough of DS in one way or another. It really is a hell hole representing the worst kind of toxic identity politics with nobody but the most absolute far left welcome, and the moderators fuel that with gusto. Will be interesting to see how the remaining parts of the board survive as I suspect they too won't be around much longer. The rot is too deep in DS to fix it as easily as closing a couple of parts down.

Let's also be clear. Many, although not all the mods on DS are utterly useless and somewhat bias.

When you are a forum mod, you are supposed to act with fairness and impartiality - especially on 'broad church' sites such as DS. However it is clear many do not.

One FM can get a warning (or ban) for something relatively minor, yet someone else can go on a hate filled rant and get absolutely nothing.

Why?

Probably as the mods agree with their POV.

My question is, how these people have been allowed to remain as Mods, when they clearly show bias in their moderation.

SierraMist/HR Gur getting his arse handed to him on a plate over on Dogs so went on the defence and claimed he wasn't a man, only for someone to dig out a post where he calls himself a man. Now he has posted as another guest blatantly trying to suggest we shouldn't question Sierra's gender as it caused a 'big problem' somewhere else.

I doubt it'll actually affect tattle much, all the people from showbiz moved over ages ago and the politics people won't fit in here. Other places can deal with them

There's been on average 500-600 new members a day sign up on tattle over the last few months. Yesterday was pretty quiet
