That thread is a shocker. I don't know how they get away with the bile on there. It's hosted/run by Ilovewallender and Straker who are both toxicIf Hearst have any sense whatsoever they'll stay well clear of another Politics thread.
GD may well see more topics added. However, I suspect they will be targeted threads to avoid a mass return to political discussion.
My advice is: If you see anyone turning one of the still existing threads into a quasi politics thread (e.g LBC chat, Jeremy Vine on Five), then report them for doing so.
According to some, GD was the 'far right' politics section. Therefore avoided it.

Not sure if it's already been posted but hasn't Sierra Mist been complaining that someone had pinched her user name on AV and was posting tit.. I vaguely remember her saying over on DS that she would stay as the name she used to have previously before her other names on DS.
I'm not sure if that is Sierra Mist - apparently someone took the user name but I have my doubts about that. I'm disappointed if s/he is on AV, preaching and doom-mongering on the Covid threads, so many people left them because of the never ending negativity from them. I had quite a few run ins with him/her myself, they really bugged me!
What's the link for the dogs forum please? When I google it I just get loads of forums about pets!
Straker. The aging 'Mr cool' of the 80's, whom once worked in the music industry designing album covers. Because of this past glory, it made him feel superior and more special than everyone else. He clearly loved the sound of his own voice, then again so do many who have been involved with the music industry.
Suprised he didn't get a job with Thames Water. His mouth was like a sewer, with foul mouthed tirades and belittling posts by female members.

Well they mentioned it once or twice. They washed ashore briefly on Dogs yesterday to announce that they give zero ducks about the name thief. Why they would see fit to mention something they don’t care about on multiple occasions is perhaps unclear, but that’s what they claimed.
Incidentally is Sierra a female? Yesterday they claimed they were “not a male” whilst also confirming they used to be HRGuru. Then rather unfortunately a poster linked a previous post by Guru stating they were “a gay man”. Now I would be the first to admit i’m not a close follower of the latest wokethink, but my limited understanding leads me to believe that one has to accept that a person can change their sex, because not to do so would be transphobic, but one cannot change sexuality because even to suggest such a thing would be homophobic. So I guess that now makes Sierra a straight woman? Or is it a self identified bisexual two spirit person? It would kind of make sense given their dual SierraGuru persona. We live in confusing times.

I am actually fine with DS at the moment to be honest. It is a much kinder site right now, I do think in some form in the future GD will return when/if this is all blown over. The moderation will just be better I think. I mean if it's true about all of this legal action then why not just ban the posters that were causing the trouble. I think they want people like that to forget about DS for now and in the future it might return in a more chatter way

When you have so many accounts its difficult to keep up I guess but to everyone in politics HR Guru was always a man.
Given he was also a rather hard right Tory at one point a sudden change to non binary seems too much of a leap to believe. He just got caught out lying as always the case.

I noticed she'd gone on her usual rants there but wasn't getting the reaction she's used to, people are disagreeing with her so it'll be interesting to see how long she lasts. As you say, she seemed to slip under the radar but she is just as bad as the usual suspects.
Agrippa is also his usual cheerful self - 'I'd like to congratulate all those posters honest enough to boast about how they were banned from DS. It must be hugely reassuring for those who run the new home you've elected to join. Mind you, at least they'll know that you probably need watching. And witching about other posters is rarely a good look.'
