I bought the monogram pochette Felicie a couple month ago for £875 (which I knew was already a lot more expensive than it used to be), it’s now £1030 which for a tiny canvas bag is ridiculous. I’m afraid it will be my one and only lv purchase, can’t justify the prices!
i bought the gucci marmont super mini in the black/silver hardware before Xmas for £790, and I know it’s tiny but it fits things in easier than the pochette felicie and the chain feels much better quality and it’s leather!

With LV and the canvas bags most people with a disposable income could afford the neverfull, speedy and pouchettes lines which is why as well as being times less they are usually peoples first designer purchases. But fashion houses now don’t like being affordable/accessible to the majority so they are trying to be more exclusive by out pricing anyone who maybe has to save a bit to get their purchase and can’t just go oh well it’s gone up £500 I’ll still buy it tomorrow. The last increase was only in October I believe? It’s sad really, just because someone can maybe easily afford it over someone else doesn’t necessarily mean they will make it look any better!!

Would you consider calling to your local silversmith- goldsmith and having something bespoke made for yourself? I’m currently having an old diamond ring re-set as a pendant by a goldsmith in my locality and am in awe at the range of jewellery he has in stock in his small showrooms which he has made himself. Also, his prices are really competitive as he doesn’t have some of the massive overheads that retail stores have. You’d definitely get more bang for your buck from the point of view of the amount of gold and size of diamond (if it’s the Cartier Love ring you’re thinking of!). You could show him/her a photo of the pieces you like and make suggestions as to how you’d personalise it specifically to your own taste. Maybe instead of “Cartier” you could inscribe a different word-phrase. And you could possibly even bring along some gold jewellery you might be happy to melt down to incorporate into your chosen product. I’m thinking of asking the same goldsmith to melt down broken bits and pieces of gold jewellery I have lying around at home and asking him to make me a simple gold bangle too!
Don’t get me wrong…I simply love all kinds of jewellery and the designer brands (Gucci have stunning Fine Jewellery on their website) , but the premium being charged for the pleasure of the brand’s logo being stamped somewhere can be a bit galling! I think supporting local craftspeople can be really satisfying & this way you will have something unique! Trinny (of Trinny & Susanne fame!) said at one stage that she dislikes carrying blatantly logo-ed designer bags because she doesn’t want to be a walking billboard for any brand! Mind you, she has a fine collection of designer everything to her name! Her words come to mind when seeing really expensive bags that really have nothing more going for them than the fact that the logo is so big everyone knows you can afford to buy it! …. Maybe this is my way of coping with not being able to afford the mega-buck prices being charged for high end designer bags these days. I still like to admire them from afar and love to hear about all your past and future purchases!

they are so popular now!! Have you consider any of their other lines? Recently I’ve been loving the clash de Cartier range. Oh also, it’s very understated but the perlee rings from VCA are so dainty and pretty.what’s your budget like? Dior have some beautiful fine jewellery necklaces. Also the Cartier love necklace is really stunning and not so basic! I also love the trinity collection if you’re one that likes mixing metals

Honestly the Love and JUC lines are beautiful and you can't go wrong, they're popular for a reason! I thought the same but they are really timeless.
Honestly it’s crazy!!! £515 is insanity, can it get more expensive than that? I can’t imagine many people buying it at that price? Let alone more expensive…
i will say though, I use it every day and love it
I once used it as a mini bag (phone didn’t fit so I had to carry it lol), and it looked so adorable 
but still, not cute enough for £515 I just would buy the Love or JUC rings if that’s your budget and it’s what you want

I'm still interested in the Alma BB and Croisette but that might be the last LV I buy. There were a few other styles I liked and would have considered them before the price rise but now I'm not so fussed. I know LV are still gonna make big profits but for us normal people, I can see myself only shopping there say once a year instead of two or three times.
How much was the canvas one before the increase? I’m so annoyed that the black one has gone up so much I really wanted it for a trip I’m going on, I should have just bought it last week
