Anyone here know Edinburgh and advise on the luxury shopping, was hoping to find Chloe but can't see any mention of it. Thanks.
I'm sure the Harvey Nicols has Chloe. It's been ages since I was last there mind you! There's an LV boutique next to the Harvey Nicols too but the service is hit or miss, it has a bit of a bad rep (check some of the Google reviews). I've never had an issue but some friends have had poor service which has understandably put them off.

LV in Edinburgh is brutal. I'm Scottish and have purchased a few things in there but they are so obnoxiously rude until they see your buying history

Jeeze I've just read the reviews for LV. I've not encountered that sort of attitude before, seems like they invent an appointment system and take details to check purchase history before letting people in.
I've made quite a few purchases over the years and yes stores can be hit or miss but Edinburgh seems to have a real problem. I'm quite shocked.

I went to the Birmingham LV yesterday and asked about whether they had any of the new season still in stock (it was only released Friday). She practically scoffed at the fact I had the audacity to ask. Quite frustrating considering I had tried to reach out to preorder and have a large purchase history.

Ooh LV Edinburgh. Absolutely awful. I went recently with a friend, we were in Edinburgh for a couple of days and I wanted to buy the mini pochette accessories. Went along on a Tuesday about 11am, gave our names, SA disappeared for a few mins and came back telling us there were "absolutely no appointments today" and basically shooed us away. They just weren't interested. I have a Russian name (not my tattle name I should add), my friend is Asian so we're quite used to people being standoffish with us but they're known for treating people poorly regardless of nationality/race!!

I don't know why the Edinburgh store is particularly bad, very strange snobishness. You can go into HN next door with absolutely no problems, the SAs in there are brilliant. I just bought the mini pochette online a few days later 🤷

Does anyone have the Chloé Nama sneakers?
No, but I really want some! I asked a friend who’s a sneaker addict and he’s advised me to steer clear of them as apparently they’d be a pain to keep clean :(

They’ve had a bad rep since they opened. I’d been in Hermès in Glasgow but got off the train in Edinburgh on the way home. I popped into LV for a quick look around. I’d just bought a Birkin so had a big orange H carrier bag. I only wanted a quick look at the luggage by myself. I was approached as soon as I stepped in. Super helpful and friendly. I didn’t stay long and didn’t kid myself that it wasn’t the carrier bag that had brought about this transformation.

I live in Edinburgh, never bought anything from the LV store (only online) and have been there many times, always had really friendly service with them going to get things for me to look at up close. I'm not classy looking either. In Harvey Nicks you get different types of people I guess - at YSL I had one girl watching and sneering at me the whole time, but upstairs the same day at Maje the girls were lovely.

I’ve always had good experiences in LV, even when returning things. Alanna is super nice.

It’s so strange how in each store/concession the staff are so hit and miss. I don’t get it…some of them think they are the tit and it’s like no hun calm yourself down you work for the brand 🙄. I go by myself and I have no problems but sometimes if I’m with my husband because he’s a hmm let’s say Yorkshire man with an accent some don’t take a liking to it 🤣 he won’t spend a penny if they do that’s why I tend to just stick to Selfridges at Manchester 😁.

I don't understand how shop assistants can be so snobby. Nothing against shop assistants but that's all you are a shop assistant not the designer. I had this once In Mulberry Leeds silly cow I was spending what she prob made in one month on a bag and I wasn't paying by credit!

It just seems daft to me that some SAs still treat people differently based on their appearance or accent. I remember seeing a woman in Selfridges once who was quite casual, wearing trainers and no makeup on but you could tell she knew what she was doing. The SAs just blanked her. Saw her again later at Cartier buying the JUC necklace which must have been £10k right there 🤯

If they blank me in the shop, I just buy online. Which has ended up becoming a massive problem as I always purchase more than I originally intended 🤦🏼‍♀️

I haven’t had too many horrible SA experiences but there was this one time I was at the Dior store in the Chadstone shopping centre and I was just looking around to see if I could find anything interesting and there was the SA who kept looking me up and down for absolutely no reason. She would look at me and then whisper to her co workers which was so odd and made really uncomfortable. It put me off from buying anything honestly. It was really unprofessional so I just left the store and didn’t bother going back. I much prefer the Dior store at Collins st which is where my actual SA is that I adore.

I saw some shop assistants telling a new guy not to serve some travellers in Louboutin on Mount Street once. They literally had handfuls of cash, it was like pretty woman 😢.

Its not funny, but I saw some travellers try to buy a range with cash and the police were called. They threw a chair through the showroom window. I'll never forget it. When I went back the SA was telling me he had to hoover his hair to remove shards of glass.

To be fair I saw them coming out of Gina later laden down with bags, so Louboutins loss was Ginas gain.
Do you remember how massive Gina was in the 90’s/2000’s?

I’ve only ever had one not so nice experience in a standalone store and that was the kooples. It’s not even a particularly high end brand but I was made to feel really unwelcome in the store despite being what I thought would’ve a target customer (20’s and slightly alternative fashion choices). Think my most disappointing service has always been in cosmetics (Mac) and with just general floor staff. On two separate occasions I treated myself to a nice scarf because most designer brands don’t fit me because of my body type so I tend to accessorise. Anyways these two different sales girls made out like I’d asked them the hardest question in the world because I asked for a wrapped up fresh one from the back. It was July I wasn’t going to be using it for months is it so unreasonable to want something freshly (also there was some toddlers going around mauling stuff to death whilst their mums just ignored them.)
