From everything I've heard so far, if I were on the jury I don't think I could comfortably find him guilty. Seeing as the law says you have to be SURE of guilt, I think even I was leaning towards guilty, I'd have to vote NG.

I think lots of people have misinterpreted the clothing evidence. Allen said in interview he would have been 'probably wearing a blue or black jacket' not that he specifically was wearing the exact same outfit as BG. They found a blue Carhartt jacket at Allen's house in a raid, but the images that we have of BG are so blurred that you probably could never match the jacket to the image.

I think he could be guilty but I'd have to go not guilty because I have reasonable doubt.

Maybe so but really, what are the chances of there also being another man there of the same body morphology as RA, wearing an outfit very similar to that described by RA as what he was wearing and similar to a jacket known to be owned by RA, at the exact time and location that RA professes to being there, which happens to be when the girls were murdered, in a town of less than 3000 people/1500 males/say 700ish max of the right age/demographic, on a regular Monday afternoon? That he himself did not see despite being there at the time? Possible maybe, but improbable, in my opinion. If he’s innocent it’s one hell of a coincidence.

I hope transcripts are released because I think there's a lot of misinformation in the case and we don't know exactly what the jury heard.

Some of the news i read said they tested on loads of guns and only Allen's was a match.

He only needed to get them across the creek on 15 minutes. After that he wasn't seen until 4pm. That's an hour and a half after libbys phone stopped registering movement. That's a long time to kill someone.

I personally think Abby might have fainted before she was killed. That could explain the lack of reaction from her.

Other people were investigated prior to Allen and the evidence couldn't stick like it could with him.
The odinist angle didn't work as I believe they all have alibis.

I do comend the jury for what they've done. 19 hours deliberating and almost a month of trial seeing and hearing horrific things.

Those poor, brave girls. It should never have come to this.
The states theory of the case of that they died when the phone stopped moving which is why I said 15 minutes for everything. If RA did do it because he panicked when he saw the van why would he hang around? It doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not arguing he is innocent but I don't think this is justice for Libby and Abby. The state spent thousands on having someone listen to RAs calls but wouldn't spend 10k on a height analysis on the video which would have been obvious whether it was likely to be RA he is short around 5ft4 to 5ft6. Not one witness was asked to identify him. The corner suddenly months before trial said the wounds could have been caused by a box cutter which RA had mentioned was the murder weapon after saying two blades were used...

Sorry something stinks about this case. Law enforcement did a terrible job and I can't get behind this verdict.

Where's this please? Would like to attempt to follow.
They are both lawyers with YouTube channels, the names I've used are their channel name. They are each live streaming every evening after the court day (usually around midnight).

Still due to start next week, jury selection begins.
I still think he might change plead at last minute though.

Looks like a new trial date has been set for May. Kelsi German has just tweeted this.

I am so glad for family it’s not too long away now.
I think he’s guilty and they will go for death penalty, although unlikely to get it as it’s not been used for a long time in that state.
I hope we get to see it on court tv here in UK.

It’s sad as well to think they were trapped because they couldn’t go back the way they came and there was nobody around

(they always say to never go to a second location, scream as much as you can but by Jove these poor little girls must have been so scared senseless😢)

I read somewhere that because of their arrests the police collected enough evidence to smash one of the biggest pedalo rings they had ever encountered. So many children saved from future abuse because of Abby and Libby ❤
That is a great way at looking at it. I’m just not sure how much faith I have in LEO and the judicial system in Delphi

I still cant believe he lived there and worked in the town all this time and nobody recognised it was him.
He apparently didn’t charge one of the girls families for photos he developed for him.
I guess he’s been mentally evaluated to be fit for trial, I know they are not filming it live but I hope court tv have lots of coverage.
Give me "One Hour Photo" vibes. I wonder if he took a copy for himself. (Robin Williams movie)

I don't think cause of death was ever released but it was confirmed that they weren't shot...
It was released in the opening statement - both throats slit. One was naked and had her friends shoes and phone under her, the other was dressed in her friends clothes and the other clothes were found in the water.

I don’t think there’s a chance 12 people are going to find this man guilty. I’m calling a not guilty verdict. Maybe a hung jury. I’m not sure how long they’ll deliberate mind you because they all have to convince each other or deliberate until there no chance of breaking a deadlock. It’s not adding up for me at all. In any way. A small, tiny man, who admitted he was there from day dot, a tight timeline and a what should be a very messy messy crime scene and there’s no way this was a rush job. And he just got lucky that they didn’t look into his account until 5 years later after they’d lost so much evidence and memories fade? This is the states case? I’m very interested to see who the defence calls. But even if he is guilty and I don’t think he is anymore, I don’t think they can convict on what has been presented and how botched the case has been since the beginning.

Why would anyone drop two girls off that age to go play in such a bleak isolated location

See he has put in an appeal this week, not sure how American courts work so don’t know how long till heard.
Poor families having to go through it all again, in this case I really wish they had went for death penalty.
He has nothing else to do at this point. He'll be sitting, rotting in his cell working on appeal after appeal for the rest of his miserable life. I hope some other prisoners get hold of him.

Oh wow! I wasn’t sure I was expecting it to be guilty, mainly because of the shonky investigation - but I am glad justice looks to have finally been served for those poor girls ❤

Listened to 45 mins of calls, first thing that struck me is the voice , the similarities to the bridge guy , sounds exactly the same.

He sounds like a zombie on the phone , he says tell them ill say whatever they want me to say , which doesn't sound convincing when he says he did it

Then as the calls go on he just keeps saying I want you to know I did it , do you still love me. It sounds like he was trying to get the wife to go away and let her go.

Going to watch the police interviews

Tom Webster has just done a podcast on utube , he has all the recordings from the calls to his wife and mother.
It’s 5 hours so haven’t watched it all but what I have heard, you can recognise his voice from the BG video.
When he confesses i Really think he sounds relieved to tell her but she won’t listen to him at all.

I agree this case is utterly bizarre. On the face of it, the cult idea makes no sense. If a cult was looking for people to use in their nefarious activities, it seems rather unlikely that they would target two girls who would immediately be missed in broad daylight on a bank holiday. They would target someone vulnerable and isolated.

I still think it’s likely to be Richard Allen with a sexual motive. 😢
