I'm shocked. I don't see how they could find him guilty beyond reasonable doubt on the evidence presented, even with how biased the judge was.

Sadly I don't think he'll survive long enough for an appeal.

The state didn’t have the height of “bridge guy” analysed from the video, that would have been huge to help prove their case.

I just cannot believe their is video and audio footage of the killer and still nothing. Here’s hoping they are withholding information as they are close to catching the killer?

This documentary is from jan 2021 and the mother of one of the girls is talking and she says she still doesn’t know the cause of death?! Surely that’s not normal.

So Libby wasn’t recording because she thought he looked weird. She was just recording her mate crossing the bridge and that fucker was coming up behind her. The barely audible hi when he speaks to them makes me want to cry. They were just babies.

I think she did record because he was odd as they could see him coming up to them when he'd gone past them earlier (I think)? They knew the only reason he was coming up was to approach them.

I can't hear exactly what's said but it fills me with anger and sadness. Those poor poor girls.

I can’t make my mind up. Keep changing every time I read a different article.

I think he's guilty but could see how the jury could be hung. I don't see an acquital, if there is I'll be very surprised.

I think it honestly all depends on what news source you get information out of as to whether you think guilty or innocent. There's so much misinformation, and so little coming out of the court room.

I wish it could have been televised or transcripts released every day so we could all get the full picture and make our own conclusions.

Whatever happens, I hope the families find peace. They've had a horrific 7 years and I can't imagine how they're feeling today.

I just don’t think the prosecution met the threshold for beyond reasonable doubt. I really do hope the girls families get a guilty verdict and some semblance of closure, but I’d be very surprised.

I'm definitely not saying he isn't guilty, but I certainly now have reasonable doubt after reading yesterday's live text reporting.

It sounds like he went from 'I didn't do it' to solitary confinement, and suddenly 'I did it'. he also said he was 'cured of his depression' in solitary just before he confessed. I dont think those confessions should stick.

I have always wanted the girls to get justice and it seemed like such a solvable case but honestly I think it's been completely and utterly fucked up.

From what I understand the judge basically tried to fire the defence team because aomeone broke into their offices and passed evidence to the media. The defence lawyers have tired to get the judge removed on a number of occasions. The defence team are acting probono.

Regarding the confessions they are saying RAs mental health was in decline due to poor treatment in the jail and this evidence should be excluded because it was false confession.

This judge is very anti the defence lawyers so I could see a mistral being declared if he is convicted and appeals.

I'm not sure if they came up with it but I've seen people say that Abby was posed like the hanged man tarot card which is based on Odin.

I wonder if it was an FBI theory but not sure.

They were both in tarot card positions (I saw the picture, I clicked a link on Twitter and the picture was just..there) with sticks placed in odd formations on top of them. Could be entirely coincidental but the poses definitely do look a bit like those tarot cards

There is no definitive list of questions asked by the jurors but Andre's Burkhart does an indepth run down every evening and includes the questions.

This case is horrible. I feel so awful for Abby and Libby and their families as this is not justice. I think the evidence against RA is a nothing burger, they wouldn't have known he was on the trail if he hadn't gone to them.

I don't think the scene from the descriptions I've heard sound like one person could have done this. I honestly think RA is a scapegoat and the police will die on the hill that he was wrongly acquitted (presuming he is and I think he should be) so they can quietly close the file.

I mean there was more evidence against Alec Murdaugh who I think did kill Maggie and Paul but I'm not sure the evidence against him was all that strong!

The episode of The consult (spotify) where Julia cowley speaks with the two that wrote the 'In the shadow of the bridge' book is great. She goes into her theories (as a profiler) as to why she thinks he did it.

Totally agree - I listened to this yesterday and Julia spoke so coherently and explained her theories extremely well. I must say I was always on the side of Richard Allen being innocent but Julia has made me totally question my thoughts and stance

And there was no “bombshell” of knowing anything that only the killer would know. Now there’s no DNA, no one can say he’s BG. It doesn’t even seem like they have found that this man even has any pedalo tendencies on any of the devices they seized from his home never mind any interaction with him and Libby or Abby.
