I don’t know if you guys are aware that in this trial, a quirk of Indiana, jurors are allowed to asked questions of the witnesses before they’re excused from the stand. Usually that’s only allowed during deliberations. You can get a real feel of how the jury is leaning and clearly tuned in they are. This is not a stupid jury and they don’t seem impressed with this state. But I concede, we still have the defence to go and their questions there will be quite interesting too
It's so frustrating that we can't watch the trial and get the vibe ourselves. Everyone I listen to has different opinions on how the jury questions are being asked and who they are more promising for. People seem to be flipping back and forth. Especially with the confessions
I have never changed my mind on a defendant ever in my life by only listening to the states evidence, having not even made it to the defence. The state is supposed to prove guilt and all I can now see is an innocent man based on their own case.
The descriptions of "Bridge Guy" sound nothing like him, RA is short for a man 5ft5 and Bridge Guy has been described as both tall and average height. Three girls saw a "grumpy man" around 2.15 which sounds like RA in a different area of the park than where the girls went missing. The video Libby took of Bridge Guy was filmed at 2.13.
Obviously more might come out through the evidence but I'm not convinced at this time that RA is guilty.
This was the same group of girls who Libby messaged as they arrived to see if the group were on the trails? And the group messaged back saying they had left. I think (again not 100% certain) this was mentioned at trial and she said 2:15 was an estimate however the text data shows Libby had text prior to 2:15 and the girls had responded saying they'd left. So their Bridge Guy sighting was earlier than they thought.
The issue I'm struggling with is Richard Allen places himself at the trails when the girls were there, was seen by the group of 3 girls who also saw him and said the man they passed was the guy in Libbys video. He places himself on platform 1 of the bridge when a lady spotted a man on platform 1 just before she turned around and saw Abby and Libby walking up the trail. This was just before the Bridge Guy video. This same witness testified that she was over 50 yards away and could have mistake a hat/hood for hair. He also didn't see anyone there to abduct the girls and didn't see them walk past him on the bridge...
So he's there, places himself in these spots where a male is seen. In the same clothes that Bridge Guy is wearing in the video. No other male is spotted on the bridge or trail by anyone, not even Richard Allen. (By that I mean no one other than the witnesses say is bridge guy)
So either he's the unluckiest person alive to be in the same place, wearing the same outfit as bridge guy, or he did it.
He didn't just say I killed them either. He had details and I don't see how he gets all that from discovery if he was struggling with psychosis. Can you realistically obtain all that information if you are sick enough to be eating your own faeces and then make false confessions that match the crime scene? I'm no psychologist so do not know.
The bullet is also a key point for me as he said he had never been at that crime scene with his gun. And him confessing to using the gun on the bridge. This was never put out there.
I don't know. It could go either way. 5 years is a long time to get rid of evidence
It’s going to be so interesting hearing what evidence they have as they have been so tight lipped throughout.
Hope for family’s sake they have the right guy.
Esssssssh! I don’t know what to think anymore, it must be powerful in court hearing those confessions, from a man that admitted to being there and the timelines matching. I do actually think he is “bridge guy” … did bridge guy do it?! … he had the documentation and then started the confessions with details, if the defence can remove the van from being there which is the only point not in discovery and potentially what the killer would know …. I just can’t get over there being no DNA!!
I sadly think this will be hung, those beautiful girls deserve so much more than this 🩷
Those girls deserve the right person to be paying for what they did. I don’t know who (high ranking) the state is protecting or what they’re protecting (a county full of pedalos that have been operating blatantly and flagrantly without fear LE because LE didn’t give a fuck or they have members in the ring) but I think it’s going to unravel with this verdict and we’re going to see the low life’s and the officials revealed.
The defence attorney have said that their office was broken into an crime scene photos were taken. It seems credible.
Those photos were then sent to some true crime bloggers and they subsequently made videos. Some agreed the scene seemed staged, with twigs placed on their bodies.
The FBI were brought in to consult on the case and suggested a religious\Odinist aspect but were dismissed by local police (I still cant believe local police can do this). 2 of the FBI people who worked on the case have died (unsure if linked).
One of the photos leaked online, of some blood on a tree (the blood that is suggested that looks like a F shaped rune). Thankfully images of the girls with the twigs placed on them and around their heads have not been released.
One girl was clothed in the other girls clothing, one girl was nude. One girl had no blood on her (which is odd). There are suggestions she was arranged. She was on top of a shoe, that was on top of a phone).
One of the people who stole the photos committed suicide afterwards.
The defence attorneys have quit. I'm sure RA will get new counsel but there is a danger of the trial collapsing, and it will mean more delays.
What stood out was witness Dr Monica Wala the psychologist stating
“He said he planned on a sexual assault but saw a van, “got scared” and decided not to, crossed the creek and “cut necks” before covering the bodies with branches”
Hope prosecutors can prove a van went past that rural road near the crime scene around that time.
Pretty damning if a van was seen in that timeframe and they have the evidence. Otherwise, so far, it seems that they only have the box cutter remark that was unknown to the public but part of his confession ‘that only the killer would know?’
At the risk of sounding crass, it only takes a few minutes to slit two throats. He said himself he panicked when he saw a van and ended it early (the van that belonged to Mark Webber and became evidence).
Kegan Kline said he knew stuff but it was proven he was in another location at the time. That other guy with a mental age of 7 also confessed but that was discounted because of his mental state and other reasons.
The judge was absolutely right not to let any of that in, along with the Odinist shite. It was baseless. Unfortunately with true crime podcasts, Reddit etc, these big cases get probed for ‘holes in the case’ or ‘alternative suspects’- it’s like it MUST be anyone other than the obvious suspect is to blame.
But no. When someone was at the scene and confessed multiple times, plus a bunch of other evidence, they are guilty. It’s that simple.
The coroner said it would have taken then around 20 minutes to bleed out. Abby had no blood on her hands. Libby was naked and Abby was wearing her clothes. He had 15 minutes to get them down the hill and across the creek and then kill them? Timeline doesn't work for me.
There were other people around and noone heard anything.
Guns are machine made, any markings on a bullet are likely to be similar from guns made on the same machine unless they ate old/very well used which I don't believe RAs was. Other guns couldn't be excluded as a match but it was definately RAs gun?
Someone else confessed and asked what would happen if his DNA was found on them which was excluded.
I'm not saying RA is innocent but the invetigstion was incompetent at best and I have plenty of reasonable doubt.
I don't think they'll be able to. I honestly think if RA is not guilty, that's it. Zilch. I think this is their only shot.
I also heard they've already investigated Brad Holder, Ron Logan, the supposed Odinists and there is nothing tying them to the crime. They all have alibis
I think the idea with the bullet is that he may have 'racked' the gun (when you pull back the top bit to load a bullet into the chamber), possibly to scare the girls into moving, and then 'racked' it again during the act and the bullet ejected unused. It supposedly has markings on the casing matching the inside of his gun.
Guess we'll find out for sure in a couple of weeks!
This is bananas though, how can the judge say how long a trial will last for? So the defense asked for a guaranteed 15 days to present their case and the judge hit back on that.
He was kept in solitary confinement for months before he started saying he was guilty. He was also sent to prison not the local jail whilst he was waiting for his trial which never happens. The guards all spoke and acted like he was guilty when he hadn't even been on trial. Awful.
I saw on YouTube that the full video from the bridge that Libby filmed has been released ( think i only saw a brief clip, some still images and heard audio before) it's chilling you can tell that they are scared as he is walking across the bridge behind Abi, the fear in her voice made me feel so sad for them. They knew something bad was going to happen bless them.
