Ella, darling, we all know you read this thread, despite how amazing, successful, loaded, busy and fulfilled your life is.

For the love of everything that is holy. If you want a maximalist, more is more house, EMPLOY AND INTERIOR DESIGNER that specialises in this. You and CEO Matthew don’t know it all, don’t always know better, you are not experts in everything.

Take a page out of Richard Branson’s book. He had ideas and he knew he is not an expert in the field. He hired experts and worked with people who knew what they were doing. And despite this everyone associates the Virgin Group with him.

As a maximalist and lover of more is more etc that is absolutely VILE!!!! So cluttered looking and no cohesion… money can’t buy taste

She’s been pretty outspoken about cosmetic surgery so I’d be surprised if she’s had any tbh. It’s not really on brand of “wholesome and natural” . She goes out of her way to point out that she uses natural make up etc.

I get that but she isn't as principled as she makes out. She has completely sold out on her whole foods ethos for the Plants brand, she ditched veganism for the cafe, she's quietly ditched a lot of her principles on food for one reason or another and never admits that she was wrong or has changed her opinion on anything. She also claimed that her diet fixed her medical issues and could do the same for her readers.

Don't believe anything these people say basically because at the end of the day she is selling something. She will want you to believe that her healthy youthful looks are down to her diet (buy my plants range) and zen lifestyle (subscribe to my lifestyle app) but is likely using all sorts of costly interventions. I think she has a really botoxed look to her face for the mother of two young kids. Her eyes can't betray the tiredness/ wiped out ness that comes from having two young kids and eating a restrictive diet but her face defo screams botox.

It’s the way her eyes aren’t focused because she’s looking at her own reflection in the phone. Also yeah that’s the brows at their worst so far

This woman looks so unhappy and unwell in all her posts, it's not inspiring me to order any of her products, quite the opposite.

I don't have any botox etc (yet!) but to see her going on about how badly she thinks of them when her husband has had a rhinoplasty is quite something... does she not know? Or, did he pretend it was for purely for medical reasons and it was quite by chance that he came through the operation with a completely different shaped honker?

I don’t think anyone here is questioning whether POTS etc is real. Specifically regarding Ella - unfortunately if you keep re-writing history to such a degree as Ella keeps doing then it’s only logical that people start doubting everything else you have claimed. Especially if it is baked into to the origin story of your incredibly lucrative brand. And you have a history of chasing fad after fad and then pretending you were never on the bandwagon let alone leading the charge. There is a huge risk in monetising your medical diagnoses the way she has. Live by the sword etc.

My sympathies with anyone who has any of the same conditions as she has claimed to have because it is annoying as fuck to have people think ‘oh that billionaires daughter had the same and became well by eating endless variations of sweet potato brownies and sticky garlicky miso mushrooms’. Cool thanks Ella!!

I have a chronic condition and trust me I tried everything in terms of eating habits : no gluten, no dairy, no industrial food, 8 fruits and vegetables a day...while it certainly helps feeling good and having a good digestion..it doesnt cure my chronic pain at all ...
so maybe it helped Ella but in my case what helped proved to be pilates to strengthen my body and therapy to better accept what I am going through
As you said Ella is building a business around that whole sweet potato brownies and garlic cured my health ...but I am not convinced

She is completely disingenuous. She knows exactly what that question was really driving at, and tries to wriggle out of it on a technicality. I used to like ella, but the level of inauthenticty and duplicity is staggering. Her bars are so unhealthy (Nakd bars are much better, nutritionally), her family is rich beyond measure (anyone in Sunday Times Rich List is obviously so much more than 'privileged'), and also find her smugness deeply irritating. Not everyone has the household staff, money, and means to simply have a day with no plans and a bath in the morning, Ella. For someone who complains how little time she has to spend with her kids, I also find it interesting how often she just plonks them in front of the telly (they always seem to be watching Peter Rabbit when they're with her).

Exactly, not even acknowledging that her career wS only able to start because she had a beautiful home to film in as a background. In just a very basic sense she would never have been able to become as successful as she was initially. Matt seems like the kind of boss who would be like Elon musk, not letting his workers wfh even when it clearly is possible nowadays, no pay rise while he and Ella earn god knows how much, making a show of working all hours, even on holiday, to imply he is so important he cannot step away at all

The granolas & cereal bars are the best products they’ve produced.

It's hard to go wrong when those items are full of dates, coconut sugar, rice syrup and maple syrup - sugar by 4 different names.

Some of the items are OK, the issue I have is they're still not really healthy. They're slightly healthier than ultra processed foods, but still have lots of undesirable ingredients like cheap unhealthy canola oil and coconut oil. Adding some seeds doesn't make it healthy.

I'd rather have a popadom than her chips, much healthier, nicer, cheaper and not high GI like her rice based chips.

Plus as we know, wealth begets wealth, that’s why these mega-rich families have different branches with various sources of wealth. Eg Getty Images is hugely successful in its own right but would not have been started without the family wealth and connections.

In any case Ella has carefully worded the question in a leading way ‘a supermarket giant heir’ - ok she’s not a Sainsbury’s plc heir but she is a Sainsbury heir, no question.

I’m simply amazed she didn’t make it clear that it’s the Qataris who control Sainsbury’s now. How did they get the controlling share? Someone must have sold it to them right? So how did the Sainsbury family become so philanthropic they could “give away” billions of pounds? (“Give away” - set up wings of the National Gallery, Tate etc and name it after yourself)

Her obliviousness to the unbelievable advantages she’s had in life is off the scale (despite trite proclamations of being ‘very lucky’ - what an understatement). If she had one iota of how many people live they would start by treating their employees so much better.

I don't think she is at all oblivious, her replies are very thought out. As people have said, she acts as if she has grown up in comfortable middle class family, rather than someone whose family are in the times rich list. Or is this her view of what "comfortable" means? Especially now comfortable is basically just being able to pay rent and bills, and at some pont this winter putting on the heating
