I had a FWB before I met my current partner, this FWB is getting married soon, and is begging me for a “one last time” before he gets wed. I’m with someone and the FWB is fully aware of this, I’ve honestly lost all faith in men after that text. You cheat before marriage, you’re gonna cheat after, some men just never change
Any way you can let his fiancée know?! She doesn't deserve that

Honestly same. Until someone shows me with their actions over words then I won't believe it. Had to learn the hard way with that too and its rubbish. I mean things are going really well with the guy im seeing right now, my cat loves him (more than me it seems) but im still wary.
It’s such a shame we have to be so wary. You deserve this happiness after the time you’ve had ❤

Oh he is just utterly disgusting. I’d like to say I’m surprised but I’m not.

Sometimes I do feel guilty still. I don't know why but it annoys me. I speak to my counsellor though and she's amazing. I just want some peace in my life.

I went on a date this weekend which went very well I thought; we both said we’d like to meet again, he suggested this weekend which I can’t do, I proposed some others and he said he was sure one of them would work without confirming which. A bit of brief texting since. I’ve now got myself in a complete state about this, because I would have confirmed which date worked. But I know it could well mean nothing, and it’s only been 36 hours. Sharing this mostly so that I have an outlet for how ridiculously anxious I always get at this stage!

Has he been texting normally since? Still chatting etc? Just hasn’t confirmed the date?

Yes still chatting - hasn’t replied to my text from this morning but did to the one last night.I suppose this is where I get myself in a tizzy about what’s normal - does he think that because we’ve said we’ll meet again there’s no need to be in much contact or is it that he’s not that keen. (For context I had a very bad experience with the last person I met which I know has made me over-analyse)

I space out texts when I’m not really feeling it, however he could also be busy. Even if you said you’d meet again I’d expect the texting to still continue.

If someone wants to message they always will, even if they’ve spent all night working. Try to fill your time without him, so that you’re not hanging around waiting for him to reply. If he does great. If not you can move on quicker.

I get it. I really do. I’d ask him again in one of those texts if he’s wanting to commit to one of the dates you suggested. Then you’ll have your answer.

Does anyone remember the police officer I went on a fair few dates with? I would always have to say to him “I enjoyed tonight, lets do it again I’m free on…..” and it was never him that instigated and it got boring!

This. It takes nothing to send a quick ‘I’ve been so busy. Catch up soon.’

I’m done making excuses for them.

I have my first therapy session tomorrow.

Morning. I was scrolling through insta the other day and came across an account called name.is.joao. Watched a couple of reels and then also found datingwithchris.

All I can say is that watching a few of those reels has made me feel like my brain is completely re-wired and I can see all the mistakes I’ve made in past relationships so clearly! Makes me cringe when I think back to chasing men who didn’t want me 😅

Would really recommend both those accounts to get things from a very straightforward male perspective x

Went on a third (and last) date with a guy on Friday.

First date, afterwards, he told me he missed me. I asked if he was sure, he said yes, he missed my energy and company. I thought it weird but let it slide.

Second date, he was normal.

Third date, he told me we would get married and have kids. I asked how can he say that when it's the third time we've met and he doesn't know my flaws. He said it's just his way of saying he's serious about me/dating and that women don't like when men speak the truth and only want to be sweet talked 🙄 ...saying you'll marry me is the highest form of sweet talking though?

We haven't kissed and he's asked me a couple times about what I think of him and every time I say, he's nice, but I'm getting to know him. On the third date he was moaning "how long will it takeeeee? What more do you want to knowwwww?" 🤨 I said there's no time limit, when I know, I'll know.

These are the only times he's acted like this. He's normal on the phone etc. I cant tell if it's love bombing, desperation or a mix but I do know that I'm icked out.

Compare that to my last guy who said he was happy to go at my pace and let me decide when I'm comfortable with him.

He’s either love bombing or he’s a bit erm odd. He’s clearly not respecting of your boundaries though.

Been on a date tonight. No prolonged talking period via text or anything. Walk and then a drink after. Seems to be a nice guy. Asked if I want to do it again. Didn’t kiss him or anything. We shall see.

I don't understand why some men think its acceptable to talk about serious things very soon but then when you pull them up its all "oh I thought you would want to hear that" im sorry but I don't. Maybe it is desperation but its also creepy. Why rush into anything? I can see why he gave you the ick!

it reminds me of school - teenage type of love! It comes across that he is abit insecure and really wants you to like him!

Also, the guy I was last seeing for 8 months is trying to worm his way back in.

He invited me over so he could cook me lunch and asked for a kiss at the end. I said nothing will happen between us until we talk, meaning talk about the reason we broke up and see if we're now on the same page aka he no longer wants to put his life goals before a relationship.

He's now trying to make himself useful and offer to buy me things and do errands for me, but is yet to outright say he wants me back or that he wants the relationship I do.

I could keep quiet and exploit this situation but I'm going to bring it up and force him to open up.

Guy I met last night, has text me twice today. Asked me a question about family, a very simple question but it has a complicated and not very happy answer, he’s since been silent and I’ve noticed his hinge has updated.

If he can’t accept that of me then duck him.

I’m desperately trying to change how I see things with men.

Some men honestly... i know it sucks right now but there are men that won't judge. The guy im with now i had to tell him about my ex dying and the effect it had on me. The other day I even started crying about it and he comforted me. Most guys would run a mile. When we get older we all have pasts that people need to accept.

I’m gonna play devils advocate here as it may help you in the future - it’s always best to stick to generic answers during the pre-date, small-talk phase. There’s a time and a place for being vulnerable or giving a lot of detail and super early on isn’t it, especially with men. (Most of them have the emotional maturity of a hamster so)

When you don’t know eachother at all and just casually messaging, it can be a bit like “errr… what do I even reply to this” when someone dumps a load of family trauma/drama/intense details etc on them.

So I don’t think it’s someone “not accepting you” I think it’s more small talk etiquette if they have messaged twice and get a load of detail about a super simple question it can scare people off.
